Richard Shaw injured his hand and couldn’t cook, so Leah took Aiden and his classmate Casimir Shaw out to eat.

The man watched them walk away with the bouncy Casimir Shaw, his face ashen, and instructed Soko to investigate this Aiden.

Soko quickly sent over Aiden’s information: a Chinese with Swiss nationality, from a wealthy family, no bad habits, a clean background with no blemishes. Though not comparable to the prestigious Shaw family of the Imperial City, he was at least clean.

"Major General, the old lady keeps asking about the young master. When will you bring Madam back to the Imperial City?" Soko chuckled, "If the old lady knew Madam was well, she’d be overjoyed."

Richard Shaw had been thinking about this matter recently. The South Seas wasn’t his territory, and with Griffith Squire’s considerable influence there, he often felt restrained. If he were to take Leah to the Imperial City, he’d have to conceal her past and let her assume the identity of Leah Squire.

If she had been married before, passing the political vetting would be difficult. Thinking about the background of the Squire siblings, his handsome brow furrowed.

"How are things in Eastern Europe?" Richard Shaw asked about Griffith Squire’s situation.

"Griffith Squire has been engaged in black market arms deals for years, with Russia’s Hub as the largest supplier. After our cooperation, Hub went to Europe to spread false leads everywhere, making Griffith Squire think Hub is missing, thereby running around investigating," Soko softly reported, "The situation in Italy is complicated and should keep Griffith Squire occupied for a month or two."

Richard Shaw nodded. Griffith Squire always held a grudge against the Shaw family. Once he returned, Richard’s identity would inevitably be exposed, leading to trouble. Time was short; it seemed necessary to quickly deal with Aiden and take Leah to the Imperial City.

"Find a way to move that medical conference in the South Seas to another location," the man squinted, speaking coldly.

The conference hadn’t started yet, and Aiden was there early. If the location changed, Aiden would have no excuse to linger in the South Seas.

"Yes." Soko swiftly executed the order, moving the medical conference in the South Seas to Singapore on the same day. While having a meal with Leah and planning to stay at her place, Aiden received the notice, his face showing displeasure—he’d arrived a day earlier while others were flying directly to Singapore the next day, so he’d have to head to Singapore too.

Aiden was forced to stay at a hotel that night and catch a flight to Singapore the next day.

Seeing this, Leah could only take Casimir Shaw home to feed the green turtle.

Richard Shaw’s mood, gloomy all evening, brightened instantly when Leah returned with Casimir Shaw. He slowly headed to the kitchen to make noodles for dinner.

"Why did the well-arranged South Seas medical conference move to Singapore?" Leah said while watching Casimir Shaw feed the turtle, speaking to Richard Shaw, "I was planning to take Aiden out to sea."

The man was brewing tea, having removed the Buddha beads from his wrist and placed them aside. He sat at the newly acquired wooden tea table, skillfully brewing tea, the refreshing fragrance gradually spreading throughout the living room.

Accustomed to the man’s silence, Leah watched his fluent actions, noting how the tea he brewed was completely different from the tea she and her brother typically made, leaving her slightly entranced.

She and Griffith Squire were not adept at the tea ceremony, often just grabbing tea leaves and pouring hot water over them. She suddenly wondered if the tea she drank before was even real!

"Your method is quite special," Leah soon shifted her attention from Aiden to Richard Shaw.

The man curved his lips and said deeply, "Learned from books, just messing around."

Leah nodded—no wonder. Though this man was often inscrutable, surely he wasn’t from an influential family? After all, he was poor, vegetarian, and wore the same few outfits over and over.

Richard Shaw pushed the brewed tea towards her.

"Thomas wants some too." Casimir Shaw, drawn by the tea fragrance, sidled over, abandoning the turtle feeding, eyes sparkling.

He wanted to drink tea with his parents, sensing a family feeling. Old Shaw only brewed tea when in a good mood.

Richard Shaw poured his son a cup of tea, then lowered his gaze to savor the aroma, slowly drinking. With the rival dealt with, the man felt joyous, and his usually stern face softened slightly, becoming inexplicably handsome.

Leah watched, feeling pleased. She couldn’t pinpoint why, but this man with either a tea or sandalwood scent was unlike anyone she’d met before—living a monk-like life, yet exuding an indescribable allure, making one forget his physical impairment.

Leah suddenly grew curious about his late wife, wondering what kind of woman would marry him. Did this unemotional man have a harmonious married life?

Since the father and son moved in, her life had become more structured, less boring, with fewer instances of insomnia—three regular meals a day, quite the anomaly.

"During the Tomb-Sweeping Festival, I plan to take Little Ze to sweep the graves. Will you join us, Leah?" The man asked, feeling slightly unsettled by her persistent, pretty gaze. Did he forget to shave this morning, or were his clothes untidy, or did she suspect his identity?

A dark glimmer briefly flashed in his tea-colored eyes—why had he indulged in tea brewing so freely? Yet he didn’t want to continue the charade, being a caretaker and cook any longer.

"Is the Tomb-Sweeping Festival approaching?" Leah paused, asking, "Where will you go to sweep the graves?"

"Back to our hometown. Come with us, Mummy," Casimir Shaw raised his little head, eyes hopeful, softly saying, "Old Shaw’s little wooden house is beautiful, built by himself. During this season, the courtyard flowers are in full bloom."

"Near the outskirts of the Imperial City," the man calmly replied, "This time in the South Seas was to visit an old friend. Coincidentally, you found Casimir Shaw, and since he thinks you’re his mother, we stayed over."

The man’s gaze was calm, his face handsome and solemn, the same man, yet now with a different aura, no longer resembling a country bumpkin.

Leah bit her red lip, her gaze shifting. Earlier, his aura was withdrawn, making him seem dull and dimwitted. But now, with just a slight release, his entire demeanor transformed, rendering it impossible to view him as a simpleton.

It seemed she never truly inquired about Richard Shaw’s identity, only knowing him as Old Shaw. So, whom did she actually bring home?
