The Villain Reborn as Game's Final Boss
Chapter 230: Address [1]
There was another thing that I had to take care of after returning to the academy.
Arthur had asked me whether Sophie could be enrolled at Namda.
His reason was that she would be safe there, and could also make some new friends... a pleasure that she had been deprived of for her entire life.
Now... it wasn’t like I was against the idea, as the safety of Arthur’s daughter meant that he would be able to operate to his utmost efficiency without constantly having to worry about her.
But—
Namda wasn’t a place where anybody could get enrolled.
Even if Sophie now had the required talent... the admissions were already over and it had been more than a month since the academy had begun.
Enrolling her now would prove to be a little difficult.
I just hoped that I could somehow convince the headmaster to accept another admission out of nowhere.
The only good thing was that unlike some of the other Immortals, Arthur had never made his daughter known to the world.
People only knew that Arthur had a daughter and that she was ill.
Whenever someone had agreed to cure her, Arthur had taken appropriate precautions so that her face couldn’t be seen by anyone.
Now one might call it an act of overprotection, but personally I felt it was the best choice that Arthur could have made.
After reaching a certain power level in the world, it was better to keep your family away from the public’s eyes, as family was a weakness that could be used against you by anyone in this world.
And Arthur, being an emotional father, would immediately lower his weapon if his daughter was in lethal danger.
Well... that was just an assumption, as I didn’t think Arthur was such a fool.
Or was he?
Haa...
Anyways, it was good that Sophie’s face wasn’t known to the public, still... some alternate identity would have to be created for her.
It would be bad if the headmaster made any connections between Sophie and Arthur.
Though the probability of that happening was very low... it was better to stay safe than sorry.
Hm?
Going over my past thoughts... this phrase had now become a common occurrence.
Maybe... with everything around me moving at a fast pace... it had made me more cautious than before.
Though it was better to have precaution, that didn’t mean that I had to be cautious in everything.
Such an attitude could easily prove disastrous for me, as I wasn’t running some legal business but a criminal organization.
And crimes... they couldn’t always be subjected to logic.
If criminals had so much logic in them, then they wouldn’t have committed the crimes in the first place.
Though it was good to be careful, I had to reduce the extent of such a cautious attitude.
Haa...
I had to stabilize my breathing to remove the unnecessary thoughts from my mind.
Currently, I was headed towards the area where the soldiers were waiting for my address.
Well... to be exact—an address from the top leadership.
Though many knew about it... they would still be surprised seeing a Gold core giving orders to the top powerhouses in D.X.
And coupled with that was the fact that I was a Frost.
Heh.
That would just go on to showcase the reach of D.X. in the real world.
There was no place in the world that hadn’t been infiltrated by my men.
Though the level of infiltration varied, as it took a lot of time to actually be able to infiltrate the top leadership of any empire or even the minor powerhouses in the world.
Most of the cults too had already been infiltrated without them having even an ounce of knowledge of the level of control that I had gained in their organization.
Still... D.X. hadn’t reached the level that I wanted it to be at.
Walking straight, I soon entered an open area that looked similar to a mini desert.
Moving my gaze around the area—
This...
Though I knew the number of soldiers participating in this operation was around two thousand, knowing the number and actually seeing it with my own eyes was a different thing altogether.
Most of the soldiers here were former criminals, so even after being part of an organization, it wasn’t like they were going to completely change their appearance.
With long beards, shaved heads, and scar marks across their faces... each one of the soldiers, irrespective of their ranks, looked... intimidating.
I wasn’t lying.
Observing the soldiers, I climbed upon the stage that had been built for the address, before once again sweeping my gaze across the sea of black that had spread far and wide before my eyes.
"Salute!"
A loud order was shouted from my right end by one of the soldiers in the top two hundred.
The moment the order was relayed, the soldiers stomped their feet, before thumping their chest in the middle with the backs of their hands.
The salutes being done at the same time created a loud sound that echoed in the open area around me.
Haa...
Looking at the soldiers... I once again realised the level which I had reached in this world.
On Earth... D.X. had the same might or maybe even more.
"Greetings, everyone."
Without wasting any time, I began to address my soldiers.
Arthur and Julien stood silently at my side, their eyes more focused than before.
"Many of you might already know me, but for those who don’t... the name’s Kael—
Kael Frost, and I will be the one to command this operation."
There was a silence as I paused to meet the eyes of every soldier standing before me.
"D.X.—that is what this organization is called. You might wonder what the initials stand for...
X—
He is the man to whom I had pledged my allegiance."
"X—he is the one I serve, and the one you have pledged to serve."
I uttered each sentence with a slight pause in between.
Though most of the soldiers might have already been aware of it... I considered speaking such statements as a necessary part of my opening speech.
