Chapter 267: If You Don’t Believe, Get Lost

Evangeline stayed in the tent, sitting cross-legged. Before her were four top-grade spiritual stones.

A faint spiritual light spun in her palm, weaving between the four spiritual stones. The stones would sometimes flicker with a dazzling glow, then fall silent again. Amid this play of light and shadow, a sudden clamor erupted outside.

"Tell My Lady Priestess to come out! We need to talk!"

"That’s right! We need to talk! We’ve already reached the Triangle Sea, so why isn’t she figuring out a way to cross it?"

"And what about us Marine Beastmen! We need to go home too. How are we supposed to live away from the sea?"

"..."

Everyone was talking at once, creating a racket.

Soon, Cole Thorne’s cold, harsh voice rang out from outside. "Do whatever you want, but what does it have to do with Eva? We promised to bring you to the Triangle Sea, and now we’re here. What more do you want?"

Danton’s deep, angry voice followed close behind. "If it weren’t for Eva, would any of you have made it here alive?"

"Get out of here!" Loras was usually gentle, but at this moment, he stood before the tent, his tall frame like a barricade.

The three of them blocked the troublemaking beastmen, all of them silently fuming. ’They’re no different from the Beastman Alliance at Norfell,’ they thought. ’They’re just better at hiding it. And now, they can’t hide it anymore and are showing their true colors.’

They had brought these people along, more or less out of consideration for old times, but look at them now—a bunch of ungrateful curs.

The beastmen looked at the one Nine-star Extreme Realm Beastman and the two Eight-Marked Beastmen, and they all took a timid half-step back.

However, thinking about how much longer they might be stuck here and how their tribes’ food supplies were nearly gone, someone steeled themselves and said, "We just want to see My Lady Priestess! We’ve been here for..." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"Enough! I’ll say this one last time! Get out of here!" Thorne’s dark green pupils contracted into thin slits. Black scales appeared faintly on his neck, and a murderous aura exploded from him, as if he were about to lunge and kill them the next instant.

The beastmen turned pale with fright and quickly retreated, only daring to surround the tent from a distance.

When Elias Moretti heard the commotion and rushed over, this was the scene that greeted him.

He looked at the ferocious-looking Thorne and half-closed his eyes. ’My dear younger brother,’ he thought, ’without the restraints of his tribe and clansmen, his temper has become even more volatile. I’m certain that if these beastmen continue to pressure Evangeline, Thorne will kill them without a second thought.’

He had never been a merciful beastman.

Among these troublemaking beastmen, there were no members of the Grymdale Tribe; they were mainly from the Sky-Rend Tribe and the Mysticeti Tribe.

Orion hurried over. Seeing his own clansmen shouting at the top of their lungs, his face turned shades of green and white. He was too ashamed to even look at Thorne. His fists clenched, and he ground his teeth. "Enough! All of you, come back with me!"

"Go back? Go back for what? Leader! You should be demanding answers! If My Lady Priestess really can’t take us across the Triangle Sea to the other side of the continent, then we should go back home! Who knows if our tribe’s territory has been seized by another tribe in our absence? What will we do then?!"

Someone in the crowd shrieked, their eyes bloodshot as they glared at Orion.

Orion fell silent, looking at his exhausted and frantic clansmen, feeling completely powerless.

From the Great Fish Clan, Quinn Cetus never showed up. He allowed his clansmen to come and confront Evangeline, to seek a new path forward, while he himself hid in the background, awaiting the final outcome. Coral Cetus stood in the snow, her face filled with disappointment.

She held Stellan’s arm and said softly, "Do you think... we shouldn’t stay here any longer?"

Stellan pressed his lips together. As a member of the Mer Clan, he had no right to comment on the internal affairs of the Great Fish Clan. But Leader Quinn Cetus’s actions were truly contemptible. If it weren’t for Evangeline, how could the Great Fish Clan possibly have survived this long?

Buck stood silently to the side, quietly keeping his female company.

After all, he wasn’t a beastman from the Great Fish Clan, so he was in no position to criticize.

The Fallen Beastmen watched from a distance, not getting any closer.

Throughout the journey, they had followed Evangeline, neither too close nor too far, protecting her from either side. They were entirely her personal force.

"Leader, should we go protect My Lady Priestess?" Kat asked, looking over anxiously.

The Ravening Wolves, standing nearby with a deep frown, shook his head. "My Lady Priestess certainly has her own plans. Let’s wait and see. If she needs us, we won’t shy away, but now is not the time to stir up more trouble."

’Things were chaotic enough already. If they were to jump in, wouldn’t it just make matters worse?’

Kat was helpless and could only continue to watch anxiously from a distance.

Suddenly, someone behind them said, "Look! My Lady Priestess is coming out!"

At the same time, Thorne, Danton, and Loras all turned to look at Evangeline as she lifted the tent flap and slowly walked out.

She was wrapped in a thick cloak, the hood trimmed with fluffy red fur that made her skin seem whiter than snow. Her long, narrow eyes were exceptionally clear and bright. As her gaze swept over the crowd, it was faint, devoid of any emotion, yet somehow it sparked a rare sense of shame in them. They couldn’t help but lower their heads, daring not to look at her again.

Thorne gripped Evangeline’s cool hand, his brows furrowed. "Eva, it’s cold out here. You should go back inside. We’ll handle this."

Evangeline’s expression was indifferent as her calm gaze swept over the crowd. "Didn’t you say you wanted to see me? Now that you have, you’ve gone silent?"

Her tone was unhurried, each word clear. "I said I would lead you across the Triangle Sea, and I will."

"If you can’t wait, you are free to leave on your own. I haven’t tied your hands and feet." She paused, her tone growing even colder. "But if you expect me to turn around and take you back to Norfell, then don’t even bother asking. My time is not to be wasted like that. Of course, if you have other ideas, you might as well state them plainly now."

Evangeline’s gaze was almost sharp enough to cut. It swept over the beastmen, who were now cowering like quails, and landed on Orion. "So, Leader Orion, since they have no objections, I’ll trouble you to keep your clansmen in line."

"Furthermore, Leader Quinn Cetus, having your clansmen charge into the fray while you sit back and reap the rewards is truly detestable. For the next little while, be quiet. In a few days, I will allow you to return to the Deep Sea, and we will go our separate ways."

With that said, Evangeline’s eyes swept over the crowd once more, and she repeated, "Are we sure there are no other issues?"

From the crowd, Holly’s voice, tinged with a strange note, piped up. "My Lady Priestess, are you certain you can lead us across the Triangle Sea?"

Evangeline glanced back at her and said flatly, "If you don’t believe me, you can get lost. Any other questions?"

She really had no time to entertain the petty jealousies of these females. The top-grade spiritual stones needed for the Four Seas Calm Waves Formation were already being nurtured. In a few more days, the process would be complete, and she could enter the sea to set up the Array. When that time came, it would calm the waves for ten thousand miles.

However, this Array was similar in principle to the sealing and Purification Array she had deployed in the Venom Pit where she found Cassian Zane. Both consumed an enormous amount of Spiritual Power. She hadn’t rushed to set it up because she wanted to find the Everwake and resolve the issues between them first. After all, compared to her mission, everything else had to take a backseat.
