The Warden of Sexy Witches
Chapter 657 - 656: Souvenirs from Touring the Prison_1
Mr. Blood Garb stared at Aiden, indeed surprised that his opponent had kept a resurrection ace up his sleeve, but in the struggle, he had snatched away the other’s trump card.
Without The Wordless Code, this guy was hardly scary at all. Resurrection was meaningless, and he could kill the other again at any time with his Blade of Vengeance.
But the more he looked at the man before him, the more he felt that confident feeling of a sure victory slipping away.
Aiden remained calm and collected. Bluffing was pointless under these circumstances, and Mr. Blood Garb couldn’t tell if this was the other man’s last bit of dignity before death, or if he really had another card to play.
"Why do you think you have won?" Mr. Blood Garb asked.
As the antagonist in the Script of the Goddess of Conspiracy, he shouldn’t have wasted words with his opponent, and should’ve simply stabbed the other with his Blade of Vengeance, ending it all—the power of resurrection didn’t seem infinite.
But an unsettling feeling within him kept spreading, and deep in his consciousness, a sinister voice kept declaring that he had already lost.
"Why don’t you check the spoils you just grabbed?" Aiden gestured with his hand toward The Wordless Code Mr. Blood Garb was holding in his left hand.
Mr. Blood Garb felt a void in his heart and glanced at The Wordless Code he had opened.
The page that contained the rules was still stained with blood, and the original rules could be faintly discerned beneath.
This codex could only be opened to this one page, the rest of it seemed glued shut, meaning rules could only be written on this page.
Logically, any nullified rules should have disappeared from it.
Yet now, these traces hadn’t disappeared!
Counterfeit!
The moment he realized this, Mr. Blood Garb found the Wordless Code in his hand was twisting, turning into a different book... The Prison Law!
All the traces and blood Aiden had just written were on the sole page of The Prison Law that could be opened.
With the "Substitute" authority of the "Existence" right, Aiden had replaced the exterior of his processed book with that of The Wordless Code.
"It’s for you, a souvenir from your tour of this prison!" Aiden smiled, "Take a good read, breaking into a prison is illegal!"
Mr. Blood Garb subconsciously tried to use his "Betrayal" right, attempting to indiscriminately interfere with the minds of everyone in the domain, but a cold command emerged in his mind, negating the effects of his authority: "Maintain a clear and normal state of consciousness for all individuals within the domain."
Aiden wasn’t personally holding The Wordless Code; The Codex was in someone else’s hands, and its rules were still in effect!
"Imprisonment!" Aiden pointed at Mr. Blood Garb. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
The cage enveloped Mr. Blood Garb, but this seemed meaningless to him—instantly, he aimed his Blade of Vengeance at himself and stabbed.
However, two more rules surfaced in his consciousness:
"When suffering harm, it is forbidden to use any means beyond the physical to cause another to bear the same harm."
"Prohibition to let others take damage in one’s stead."
New rules were written on the Wordless Code, specifically interfering with his three powers.
Mr. Bloodcoat realized that the damage transfer from "sacrifice" could no longer be used, but he did not stop. Even if he had to bear the damage himself, his "immortality" power could still save his life. Now, his only thought was to kill Aiden Galahad!
But his body did not wait for the blade of the Vengeance Twin Daggers, because his entire right arm had vanished.
The undead body made him less sensitive to pain than ordinary people. Realizing something was wrong, he turned to look and saw the Vengeance Twin Daggers falling to the ground, with a few of his fingers still attached.
A delicate hand reached in from outside the cage, grabbed the Vengeance Twin Daggers, and pulled it out, snatching it away.
Mr. Bloodcoat instinctively wanted to use blood magic to regain the Vengeance Twin Daggers, but the blood tendrils extending from the wound were blocked by the cage.
He followed it with his gaze and saw a familiar-looking young man standing outside of the cage.
"I’ve got it!!" The young man shouted with a tense face, holding the Vengeance Twin Daggers tightly in his hand, looking quite nervous, clearly lacking combat experience.
But Mr. Bloodcoat, who held the corresponding authority, could feel a deep-seated hatred emanating from the other, the hostility in those eyes seemed ready to transform into blades and flay him at any moment.
"Harrison Dodge’s son?" Mr. Bloodcoat recognized him.
He did not disappear on the spot, which indicated that the attack just now was an ordinary "annihilation" power and not the lethal touch of the Hand of Annihilation.
The Hand of Annihilation was no longer in the hands of this young man, meaning that the one who had ambushed him from behind... was someone else.
This meant that Aiden Galahad had actually prepared two plans, the first option being to kill him with the Hand of Annihilation, and Professor Dodge’s son was the executor of the backup plan, which also included the forged Codex as a part of it.
Aiden glanced over at a spot not far away, where Veronica, covered by Tony’s "Cloak" ability, held the real Wordless Code. Veronica had applied a "rule" to herself: when Aiden modified and wrote rules in the forged Codex, she would execute the same actions in the genuine Wordless Code.
Aiden was very aware that the flaw of the Wordless Code was that modifying and writing rules required time, a few seconds’ delay that could be fatal in a life-and-death confrontation. Therefore, he chose to give Veronica the true Codex, asking her and Tony to conceal themselves, while he carried the "decoy," the forged Codex.
Since Mr. Bloodcoat was aware of the existence of the Hand of Annihilation, he would inevitably be cautious. Aiden knew that if Qiqimora failed to erase Mr. Bloodcoat, Mr. Bloodcoat might find the opportunity to kill him in return.
The tactic of transferring damage to Lamia had already been used once at the Sunset City base, and Mr. Bloodcoat would have prepared countermeasures. However, Mr. Bloodcoat was unaware that Aiden had a backup plan for resurrection.
When he was forced to rely on the resurrection power given by Abigail, Mr. Bloodcoat would go to seize the Wordless Code. The forged Codex was enough to allow Veronica time to rewrite the rules—Aiden had instructed Veronica to write down those three rules that would restrain Mr. Bloodcoat’s powers when he was unable to write rules himself.
The performances of Qiqimora and Lamia, oblivious to the backup plan, had also caused Mr. Bloodcoat to lower his guard, allowing Tony, hidden in the shadows, to ambush Mr. Bloodcoat without concern and take the Vengeance Twin Daggers.
This time, Mr. Bloodcoat finally understood that the voice deep in his consciousness was right—he had already lost.
The "sacrifice" power not only could transfer damage, but it also had another use: to completely transfer one’s spirit and take over a follower’s body. But he knew he had no chance now—the power required his own death as a prerequisite.
"Enact the rule, any actions that may lead to one’s own death are forbidden within the domain." Aiden’s final declaration of the "rule" completely cut off Mr. Bloodcoat’s hope.
