Chapter 1150: The Fight That Was Promised 2500 Years Ago

(Six Months After Yu Kiro’s Death, Planet Satoru, Leo’s POV)

Finally, six months after he and Veyr killed Yu Kiro within the depths of the fourth dimension, Leo received the first truly concrete signs of enemy retaliation moving against the Cult.

And while the identity of the person leading that retaliation did not surprise him very much, the source of the information certainly did.

Because according to the report, the one leading the coming assault was Ru Vassa, the Ru Clan’s Mage God.

"Ru Vassa... honestly, I’m not surprised that you’re coming for us," Leo muttered quietly, as he shook his head while recalling the Cult’s recent campaigns against the Ru Clan.

After all, out of the four planets the Cult captured during these past few months, three originally belonged to Ru Clan territory, which meant the Cult had effectively been preying on her influence and authority repeatedly without pause.

And combined with the rumors surrounding her relationship with Yu Kiro, Leo understood perfectly why she seemed more emotionally invested in this matter than the other Great Clan Gods.

Because unlike the others who immediately descended upon Yu Clan territory like vultures after Yu Kiro’s disappearance, Ru Vassa genuinely appeared angered by what happened to him.

However, while her involvement itself was not particularly shocking, the second name attached to the report was significantly more concerning.

As it seemed as though she had teamed up with Kaelith, the Eternal Sovereign himself.

"So finally, it’s time for that fateful encounter...."

Leo muttered, as the moment he saw that name attached to Ru Vassa’s, he immediately understood that the scale of the coming conflict had changed completely.

Because unlike the other Gods who viewed the Cult as an emerging political threat, Kaelith’s hatred toward the Cult stretched back many millenia.

As to him, this was not merely war to him.

This was unfinished history.

*Step*

*Step*

Inside his chambers atop Planet Satoru’s central command tower, Leo paced around quietly with the short letter resting within his hand, as he looked at it with absolute focus.

[I am simply letting you know that the Eternal Sovereign and Ru Vassa will be attacking you sometime within the next three days.

Signed, The Deceiver, Mauriss.]

Leo stared at the message silently for several moments afterward before eventually chuckling beneath his breath.

"Haha.... What an unexpected time to be alive."

He muttered, as the last thing he ever expected in life was receiving warnings about enemy movements from Mauriss of all people.

And yet somehow, this strange universe had reached a point where even the Deceiver himself occasionally behaved more like an unpredictable ally than an enemy.

Which was precisely why Leo refused to trust the information completely.

Because if there was one man in existence whose words could never be accepted at face value, it was Mauriss.

"I won’t blindly believe this information..." Leo muttered quietly to himself, as he folded the letter carefully before placing it atop the desk beside him.

"But I also won’t ignore it either."

His eyes narrowed slightly afterward while countless possibilities rapidly formed within his mind.

"If this warning is genuine, then preparing for the attack is the correct decision."

"And if it’s false..."

"...then at worst, I simply wasted a few days waiting for an outcome that never came to pass."

Leo leaned back into his chair afterward before slowly exhaling through his nose while mentally reorganizing the current strength of the Cult.

Honestly, compared to six months ago, their situation had improved drastically.

Dumpy had finally stabilized fully after his Demi God breakthrough.

Leonardo had recently entered the Demi God realm as well.

And with Veyr steadily adapting toward greater mastery over his abilities after the battle against Yu Kiro, the Cult now officially possessed four active Demi Gods capable of participating in large-scale God level warfare.

Leo himself.

Veyr.

Leonardo.

And Dumpy.

As that reality alone filled him with significantly more confidence than before.

Because although fighting one God was already dangerous enough, fighting two simultaneously was an entirely different matter altogether unless overwhelming support existed around him.

However now, if all four Demi Gods coordinated properly together, then even facing Kaelith and Ru Vassa simultaneously no longer felt impossible anymore.

Dangerous?

Absolutely.

Potentially catastrophic?

Without question.

But impossible?

No.

Not anymore.

And honestly, that realization itself marked how terrifyingly far the Cult had already risen in such a short span of time.

Six months ago, the idea of openly fighting two Gods simultaneously would have sounded suicidal to Leo.

However, Now?

Leo genuinely believed victory was achievable.

"I suppose there’s no avoiding it now..." Leo muttered quietly, as his gaze drifted toward the crimson skies visible beyond the tower windows.

"If Kaelith truly comes personally this time, then the balance of the universe will permanently change after this battle concludes."

His fingers tapped lightly against the armrest beneath him afterward while thoughts of future consequences spiraled rapidly through his mind.

Because once the Cult openly fought and survived against two active Gods directly, every remaining power within the universe would finally be forced to acknowledge the same terrifying truth.

The Cult had officially returned as one of the universe’s strongest ruling powers once again.

And perhaps more importantly than even that—

The long awaited war between The Cult Of Ascension and Kaelith The Betrayer would finally reach its inevitable conclusion.

"This time.... I won’t let you go.

This one will be for my mentor the Timeless Assassin, My Idol, Soron, and for the Cult’s home world, Ixtal."

Leo muttered, as for several long moments afterward, silence filled the room entirely.

Then eventually, Leo rose slowly from his seat before turning toward the chamber exit with calm determination visible across his face.

"I need to gather everyone..." he muttered quietly.

"Because once this fight starts..."

"...there will be no room for mistakes, and no possibility of backing down.

This is a fight that Kaelith started the day he betrayed the Timeless Assassin.

And this is a fight, we will finish three days from now."
