Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer
Chapter 935 - 393: Predicament (3)
Looking at them, Alka proposed, "If you don't mind, you can tell me about some of your difficulties. I think I might be able to offer you some help."
Hearing this, the Great Elder and the people behind him exchanged glances, and then the Great Elder looked at him.
"If possible, we'd be very grateful."
"It's just a small effort."
He couldn't possibly watch so many people go to their deaths in vain.
"The biggest problem we're facing now is that we have almost no food left, and all the magic power here has been almost completely depleted by us."
The most basic food requirement, right?
According to what they learned, the Vastva people still have a population of tens of thousands. Sustaining so many people is indeed a significant expense.
But for them, it's actually quite acceptable.
After thinking for a moment, Alka stood up and said to them, "If you don't mind, take us around your city. I want to see the problems you're facing with my own eyes to come up with a solution."
"No problem." Subsequently, the Great Elder selected two people from behind him, and they left the tower with Alka and his team.
The rest remained in the tower to discuss the matters Alka had just mentioned.
This was also Alka's way of giving them a process for discussion, so that dialogue could be better later.
"Let's look at your food production process first," Alka said.
Previously, when communicating with Waku outside, he learned a bit about their food. Now he just wanted to see it with his own eyes, and the people leading them were the woman who had just recounted the history and a man who hadn't spoken much.
"You can call me Labert," said the male Vastva.
"I'm Afia," introduced the female Vastva who seemed very knowledgeable about history.
Alka and his team nodded, then followed them from behind.
They chatted as they reached an area that seemed to be on the outskirts of the city.
It was an ordinary house, but there were patrols patrolling the area.
In their hands were very simple stick weapons.
Obviously, what they needed to guard against were just petty thieves from their own kind.
Everyone cast curious glances at Alka and his group of outsiders, something quite unprecedented.
Inside, the room wasn't big, apart from the storage area. Alka saw batteries used for storing magic power, larger and more rugged than those they had seen before.
The magic power inside, Alka observed, added up to at most what a person at less than the Second Stage of the toucher's level would have.
It really wasn't much.
The magic power was connected to a funnel-like machine, with complex mechanical structures at its center and interior.
A worker nearby, slightly nervous, threw in some rather gray-white but seemingly green plants.
"These plants are the reason we settled here. Behind is the last piece of land that can still grow plants," Labert explained.
Then they saw various plant roots congealing in the magic power, with a brown-green liquid flowing out below.
It emitted a faint fragrance but didn't look very appealing.
More than food, it resembled some kind of medicine.
"And then you can produce such nutritional liquid, gathered from magic power and plant nutrients," Labert introduced.
Afterward, he handed the nutritional liquid to Alka.
Alka looked at it and handed it to the people behind him.
"Honestly, aside from providing some nutrition, this really can't be considered food," Simon said, looking at what was in his hand.
Alka nodded; it was true.
But if one understands their current situation, it can be comprehended.
But Juanlu must not be allowed to see this; he might start researching it curiously and, at some point, might let them try it.
"What about water? What about water?" Alka asked.
"We produce water by using a spell through magic power," Afia said directly.
This part was much simpler and more direct.
"So you're saying that manufacturing water is the main consumption of magic power, right?" Alka asked.
But it didn't quite seem right, after all, these people didn't have a strong odor.
If water were such a crucial resource, they clearly wouldn't bathe unless necessary.
"Yes, but we have a divine artifact that can create a large amount of water with very little magic power."
Hearing this, Alka nodded in understanding.
The so-called divine artifact should mean treasure.
They learned from some records that the Vastva people indeed should have several treasures.
For example, the treasures representing the seasons of spring, summer, and autumn left behind, and many other treasures unrelated to the seasons.
The Eye of Concealment should each hold a treasure.
Of course, this is just speculation, given that the world and power systems of that era were different.
"Shouldn't the energy of treasures be abundant? You shouldn't be so worried about magic power," Simon suddenly realized something and asked.
"Divine artifacts? Most of the magic power in the divine artifacts has been completely drained."
That outrageous?
