Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1342: Julian Hawthorne Is Really Awesome
Carlotta Sterling shot Trevor a sharp glance! She calmed down a bit; after all, her daughter couldn’t bring herself to do it. Yet, as an elder, she felt she had lost face!
Before the anger in her heart had completely subsided, Trevor didn’t let go. He calmly and bravely met her gaze.
Janelle was stunned! Trevor actually acted!
She glanced at Trevor, then at her mother, and then back at Trevor! The joy in her heart was indescribable.
Seeing the anger in the middle-aged woman’s eyes slightly diminish, Trevor gradually eased up, released her wrist, and greeted her politely, "Hello Auntie." He extended his hand like a gentleman.
Carlotta Sterling’s expression changed several times, and she didn’t shake his hand.
Julian Hawthorne didn’t feel awkward at all; he clenched his fingers lightly and touched the tip of his nose.
Even Julian’s mom couldn’t understand her son’s feelings at the moment. Probably a flock of crows flew through his mind, right? Could it get any more melodramatic?
Carlotta Sterling’s chest heaved violently as she glared fiercely at her daughter!
Janelle fearfully clung to Trevor’s arm, half-hiding behind him, clearly stating her stance, and refrained from saying anything inappropriate.
Anyway, she has a boyfriend, and she doesn’t want to go on a blind date!
In Julian Hawthorne’s eyes, this girl was mischievous with clever little thoughts, candid to the point of disregarding the occasion.
He lifted the corner of his lips, his voice warm to dissolve the awkwardness, "Janelle is very honest. While admiring the roses earlier, she told me she has a very handsome boyfriend."
Saying this, he looked at Trevor with a smile, "Just didn’t expect it to be Trevor. I’ve known Trevor for years, so it’s perfect, let’s go in and have some tea, shall we?"
What?
They know each other?
Janelle looked at Trevor in surprise. Judging from his expression, Julian Hawthorne wasn’t lying.
Oh my gosh!
They actually know each other?!
Seeing her son’s openness, Julian’s mom also felt quite comforted.
But Carlotta Sterling was still awkward. Julian’s mom patted her shoulder to comfort her, "You have to face reality; a forced relationship is never sweet."
In no time, everyone started to move inside.
Janelle kept clinging to Trevor’s arm, almost hanging entirely off his shoulder. Thinking about how he blocked her mom’s slap just now—what a handsome move! Her heart was warm.
So cool!
And although Julian Hawthorne didn’t say it aloud, inwardly, he was fully aware.
Yesterday, during a chat about relationships with Trevor, he said he was single, so how did he find a girlfriend overnight?
But he could see that this girl liked Trevor, so he’d help make it happen, give it a boost.
"I’ve always known you had a girlfriend with the last name Mills." As Julian Hawthorne walked towards the living room, he turned his gaze to Trevor, his voice gentle and pleasing, "Didn’t expect it to be Janelle, her mother is good friends with my mom." He intentionally said this for the two elders to hear.
What is this? Always knew?
Trevor met the man’s gaze and naturally understood his meaning. Julian Hawthorne also wanted to help Janelle?
Seeing today’s main character himself not caring, Carlotta Sterling couldn’t say much more. It wouldn’t work if she insisted on her own.
Everyone around wore smiles, the atmosphere was gentle, as if nothing had happened.
Especially Julian Hawthorne and Trevor, both were gentlemanly and polite, their interaction pleasant.
"Everyone stay for lunch, since we’re family, let’s take the opportunity to gather."
It must be said, Julian Hawthorne was good at smoothing things over. What he said left Janelle feeling baffled, were they really that familiar?
"Mother, you chat with Auntie Sterling about your things, it’s been a while since you’ve seen each other, catch up properly, don’t worry about us young ones."
Once inside the living room, Julian Hawthorne led Trevor and Janelle to the backyard.
Julian’s mom pulled Carlotta Sterling onto the sofa, "How are you handling this as a mom? How did such a big misunderstanding happen? Your daughter has a partner, and you’re bringing her for a blind date?"
Not blaming, just curious, and because of a good relationship, she asked.
