Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1350: Ethan’s Divine Assist
"My name is Ethan Dalton." The little boy answered her, but he didn’t call her Janelle-sis. His small mouth stayed tightly shut.
He just didn’t dislike her, but his heart hadn’t fully opened to her yet.
Janelle Mills nodded happily. "E~than~, that’s such a nice name!"
She’d heard from Trevor that his little brother had been seriously ill when he was younger, so the fact that the boy was willing to tell her his name meant he probably didn’t hate her.
She thought, if she could get along well with the little brother, would her relationship with that big block of ice Trevor also improve?
Whatever, she’d start by bribing the little brother first!
She only had herself to blame for liking Trevor.
Here in Riventhal, with Demi not around, she had to work hard! Her own happiness was something she had to fight for!
"Let me ask you, Ethan, do you usually get a chance to go downstairs and play?" she asked curiously.
It took Ethan a long time to understand what she meant. He shook his head, his thin lips pressed tightly together, refusing to make a sound.
The girl thought for a moment and then asked, "So Ethan stays in this room every day?" Without even going out the door?
The little boy nodded.
She thought, that must be so boring!
No fun of childhood at all, and probably no one to play games with him either?
"But I have classes. A teacher comes to teach me every day." Ethan was happy to share that with her.
Janelle nodded thoughtfully. "Then let me ask you, Ethan, have you learned idioms? Idioms are really fun!"
"I have. Idioms are the four-character ones, right?"
"Yep! How about Janelle-sis plays an idiom chain game with you?" Janelle didn’t want things to get awkward, didn’t want this kid to think she was boring.
Because she had no idea how long Trevor was going to be talking with Uncle Dalton, she had to look after the boy properly!
Ethan shook his head. "I don’t know how. I haven’t learned that many."
"Do you want to play?" the girl asked. "It’s okay if you don’t know. I didn’t know how at first either. You’ll get it slowly."
The little boy nodded. "I want to play." Who wouldn’t want to play games?
Especially a special kid like him, who’d been living in the hospital for a long time, almost cut off from the world, spending every day in monotony.
"Then I’ll teach you a few idioms first. Listen carefully!"
The little boy nodded with interest and listened to her very seriously—
"Shan qing shui xiu (mountains green, waters fair). Repeat after me?" Her eyes were full of encouragement.
Ethan tried to speak. "Shan qing shui xiu."
"Great, let’s keep going! Xiu shui ming shan (clear waters and bright mountains)."
"Xiu shui ming shan."
"Awesome, shan qiong shui jin (at the end of one’s rope)!"
"Shan qiong shui jin."
"Jin shan jin mei (perfect in every way)."
"..."
"Mei zhong bu zu (a slight flaw in an otherwise perfect whole)..." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
With Janelle’s guidance, Ethan not only answered every time, he also quickly grew to really like this game.
As they played, bursts of laughter floated out.
It had to be said, it was a pity Janelle didn’t become a kindergarten teacher.
"Ethan, you’re amazing, let’s go again!"
Hearing her praise, the little boy was over the moon. "I don’t know how to go on from there. Can you teach me more?"
"Of course." Janelle nodded.
Right at that moment, Simon called Trevor’s phone, and the two of them chatted briefly.
Trevor hung up, said goodbye to David Dalton, and came out. "Janelle, let’s go. Something’s come up at the company."
The girl sitting in the chair turned her eyes to look at him, then let go of Ethan’s hand. "Ethan, we’ve got to go. Bye-bye~"
Ethan was reluctant to stop playing, his black, beautiful eyes full of unwillingness to part.
Knowing that as the CEO of The Dalton Group, Trevor’s time was extremely precious, just as Janelle stood up, Ethan suddenly grabbed her hand.
The sudden movement startled everyone present, and they all looked over.
Because Ethan wasn’t good at socializing—he had social anxiety.
"Janelle-sis." He stood up, lifted his eyes to look at her, and called her that for the first time. "Can I see you again tomorrow?"
