Chapter 1354: Chapter 1354: Still Have to Keep Up the Act

Janelle Mills came to her senses and realized it was on the way.

But even if it’s on the way, doesn’t she need time?

Recalling how he left the hospital, it was obvious he was dealing with something urgent.

The girl pursed her lips and hurriedly followed him.

Trevor remained gentlemanly, helping her open the passenger door, then walked around the car and sat in the driver’s seat.

Janelle got in on her own, closed the door, and just as she fastened the seatbelt, the car sped off!

On the way, Janelle Mills held onto the card box, her thoughts somewhat unsettled, involuntarily recalling the scene in the bookstore earlier.

He clearly could have left first, but instead, he entered the bookstore to find her.

Trevor drove seriously, and who knew what he was thinking, when he suddenly said, "What do you think of Julian Hawthorne?"

Janelle was still a bit unresponsive. She turned her gaze to him, her expression puzzled.

He asked again, "He’s so outstanding, haven’t you taken a fancy to him?"

The way he asked was a bit probing.

But when Janelle heard it from Trevor, it made her feel quite uncomfortable.

Why?

Does he want her to like Julian Hawthorne?

Even though she felt a bit downhearted, she still turned to ask him, "What do you mean by that? Do you want me to like him, or not?"

She asked three questions in a row, then just stared at him, waiting for his answer.

A minute passed, and Trevor glanced at her, still answering with silence.

The car continued forward.

Not long after, Janelle Mills’ phone rang; it was her mother calling. Janelle composed herself and answered, "Hello, Sister Sterling."

"When are you coming back? Are you with Trevor?" Carlotta Sterling had already returned to the hotel and was waiting.

"Yes." Janelle replied, "We’re on our way back to the hotel, he’s driving me."

"Perfect, invite Trevor for dinner tonight." Carlotta said calmly, with a bit of seriousness, "Today at the Hawthorne family, there were things I couldn’t say, so since you’re together, mom doesn’t object. Trevor is indeed excellent, but there are topics that need discussing, like him becoming my son-in-law."

Janelle Mills felt very anxious listening to that, another dinner invitation?

How could this situation end?

"Janelle, are you listening? Why aren’t you speaking?"

"I heard you." She said, glancing at him, "I know." Then hung up the phone.

Still, two whole minutes passed, and Trevor didn’t wait for her to speak up.

He observed her expression through the rearview mirror, "What’s going on?" because she appeared as if she wanted to say something.

Who expected he would bring it up?

Janelle turned her gaze, yet he was not looking at her, focusing intently on driving.

But since he brought it up, she decided to voice her request, "My mom wants to invite you for dinner, she really thinks we’re together... said there were outsiders at the Hawthorne family today, so some words couldn’t be said."

Trevor remained silent as usual; it seemed to be his habit.

Janelle Mills pursed her lips, her brows furrowing slightly, "What do we do now? I feel like this situation can’t be resolved." Today it was dinner; what would the request be tomorrow?

She couldn’t have imagined that the fathers of the Dalton and Mills families would directly push for marriage and children!

Before Trevor’s attitude became clear, his phone rang again, and it was Simon calling.

Trevor glanced at the caller ID and rejected it.

The noticeable increase in his speed made Janelle feel even more apologetic, as she was indeed delaying his time.

She thought to herself, he’s so busy, and it’s already three or four o’clock, how can he have time for dinner?

Just as Janelle lost hope, not knowing how to deal with her mother, Trevor spoke gently, saying, "I’ll arrange dinner, keep your phone on, and just wait for my call."

Stunned!

The girl turned to look at him in disbelief, almost doubting her ears!
