Carlotta Sterling dragged her daughter into the elevator without saying a word, pressed the floor button, and didn’t let go until the elevator doors closed.

Janelle turned her eyes to her, "Sister Sterling, do you believe it now?"

"Believe, believe, believe. Stop jumping around here!" Carlotta rolled her eyes at her, "You’re really making a fool of yourself. Don’t act crazy on me!"

The elevator ascended steadily, and Janelle looked at her with skepticism.
