Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1372: Janelle Ran Away
Just at that moment, her phone rang, pulling her thoughts back.
Janelle saw it was Trevor calling, and she immediately drove away all the bad feelings, letting joy slowly grow in her heart.
The mood of the whole person changed.
Carlotta Sterling in the room also heard the phone ring. She thought it was Nathan Mills calling, so she gently opened the door a crack.
Watching her daughter answer the phone with a smile and place the phone lightly to her ear, "Good morning."
"Good morning." Trevor’s voice was low and warm, "I’m done with work now and planning to go to the hospital. Can I come pick you up now?"
Now??
Janelle was caught off guard but still looked forward to seeing him, so she smiled and said, "Sure, I don’t have much to do anyway." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"Alright, see you in a bit." Trevor had actually already set out, his car heading towards the hotel, "It’ll be a few minutes."
So soon??
"Okay, I’m coming down right away." Janelle was a bit flustered, feeling she should change clothes or maybe restyle her hair, or make her makeup a bit more refined.
But now there’s no time.
After hanging up, she turned back to the room, and when she came out with her bag, she bumped into her already emerging mother, glaring at her fiercely!
Janelle’s steps faltered, "..."
"You can’t go." Carlotta reiterated, "I don’t agree with you being with Trevor!"
"I’m sorry." Janelle clenched the strap of her bag, meeting her mother’s gaze, and her tone was exceptionally firm, "I can listen to you on other matters, but not on this matter of the heart! What the heart decides, I can’t stop!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Janelle rushed to the door before her mother could catch up, making her escape!
Carlotta chased after her but only found an empty spot, "Janelle!!"
The girl didn’t take the elevator but dashed into the stairwell, her silhouette quickly disappearing from her mother’s sight.
Carlotta was very angry! Hope she doesn’t twist her ankle! Both angry and worried!
In a fit of rage, she viciously stomped on the roses left at the door!
Her heart was filled with anger towards Nathan Mills!
He’s already married, yet he still disgusts her with roses!
Janelle ran down as fast as she could. As she dashed out of the hotel lobby, she saw her father nearby, about to get into his car.
Nathan Mills inadvertently turned his gaze and immediately saw his daughter. He had just opened the driver’s side door but then closed it again, "Janelle?"
"Dad!" The girl looked around; Trevor hadn’t arrived yet. She trotted over to her father, "Sorry, I’m apologizing to you on behalf of mom!"
"Why apologize? I know her temper all too well," Nathan Mills seemed unfazed. He took a few steps forward, seeing his daughter out of breath, and asked with concern, "What’s going on? Why are you running so urgently?"
"Trevor asked me out, mom wouldn’t let me out, so I ran down the stairs," the girl told her father honestly, "We’re going to the hospital to see his brother. I promised yesterday, and I don’t want to go back on my word. He’s coming over soon."
"Your dad supports you two being together." The middle-aged man patted her shoulder, "I’ll slowly convince your mom; let’s work together."
"She threw away the roses, next time... don’t give her flowers." Janelle said that, actually testing if he would still take the initiative.
The man laughed, "I’ll be lucky to get through the door. We’ll take it slow; we’re not in a hurry. With everyone working together, are we afraid we can’t handle her?"
The girl was amused by her father’s attitude, and what had started as a somewhat unpleasant morning suddenly became relaxed and pleasant.
