Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1415: Both Thinking of Each Other
The inn’s staircase was narrow, and walking side by side made it a bit cramped, plus it would soon turn a corner. Such stilted-floor inns weren’t very tall, and the layout was almost identical everywhere.
Tall and sturdy, Trevor walked ahead, holding her hand tightly, guiding her step by step to the third floor.
In front of room 303, he swiped the card to get in, but hadn’t yet let go of her hand.
It felt like a big brother leading a little sister.
After entering, he inserted the card, and the entire room lit up.
The light was warm and amber, with wooden walls and ancient-style murals. It was a large bedroom, and the room was indeed quite spacious.
The bed was over two meters wide, with neatly arranged goose-yellow bedding, two heart-shaped pillows, giving off a comfortable feeling.
But there was indeed only one bed.
"Come, sit down first." Trevor helped her sit on the edge of the bed before releasing her hand.
Kneeling on one knee in front of her, he opened the medicine bottle and placed it on the floor, gently lifting her injured foot onto his knee.
Carefully and without a word, he rolled up her pants leg, his distinct fingers moving with incredible gentleness, like a professional doctor in that moment.
The girl watched him up close, nerves a bit tense, heart racing slightly.
She wanted to say thank you, but hesitated, then bit her lip, her face blushing slightly with a light cherry red.
As the pants leg was rolled up, the exposed ankle showed noticeable swelling; Trevor furrowed his brow, looking up at her with clear concern on his face!
Their eyes met, Janelle blinked and quickly said with a smile, "It doesn’t hurt, really, not at all."
Trevor gave her a deep look, sighed, retracted his gaze, and picked up the medicine bottle.
Janelle Mills sat on the edge of the bed, just watching him, and the pain seemed to vanish in an instant. His earlier confession seemed to be saying something.
Trevor applied the medicine gently for her, blowing on it from time to time, afraid of causing her pain, and feeling quite sorry for her.
His meticulousness and tenderness, the apology and guilt buried in his heart, stirred ripples in Janelle Mills’ heart.
Did he actually care for her too? It was just that the situation was urgent at the time.
"I’m sorry, Janelle." He massaged her gently, hoping for the medicine to absorb and be effective, then looked up at her. "I brought you out but didn’t take good care of you."
Hearing this, she shook her head vigorously, suddenly feeling a sourness in her nose and a genuine warmth flowing through her heart.
At this moment, there was no Jocelyn Morgan between them, only him and her.
"I’m already an adult, why would I need care?" she said with a smile. "It was my own carelessness that sprained it. I’ll be careful next time, won’t cause you trouble."
Hearing this, Trevor felt even more guilt.
He withdrew his gaze, continued to massage gently while saying to her, "You shouldn’t go downstairs tomorrow, just rest here and heal properly first."
Not go downstairs? Did that mean she would stay here alone?
No!
She was afraid!
Suddenly, Janelle Mills felt a chilling air around her. After such an incident, before the outcome was determined, any girl left alone would feel scared.
Without hearing her response, Trevor looked up and saw the hesitation in her eyes.
When her gaze met his, Janelle Mills softly spoke, "I... I’d rather go out with you. I’m not in pain anymore, really."
Unexpectedly, Trevor said, "I’m not going either. I’ll stay here with you." How could it not hurt when it’s swollen?
A look of surprise flashed in the girl’s eyes; wasn’t he going to find it?
Trevor gently placed her medicine-applied foot down, took the medicine bottle and stood up, "If I could find it, wouldn’t I have done so today?"
"..." She didn’t know how to respond.
