Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1417: Why Don’t You Sleep on the Bed Too?
Janelle Mills’s chest suddenly tightened!
Trevor held her as he took a step inside, and when he lowered his eyes, his deep pupils reflected her astonishment.
To Janelle, it all seemed unreal! She even held her breath.
"..." She wrapped her arms around his neck, her cheeks blushing like an apple.
Time seemed to stand still at this moment.
Janelle noticed a trace of emotion in his eyes that she couldn’t comprehend, but Trevor quickly retracted his gaze and carried her to the bed, standing still.
He bent down and carefully placed her on the soft bed. She released her grip, resting her head on the pillow and looking at him, his handsome face just inches away.
"Get some sleep." Trevor’s eyes were filled with sincerity. He then bent down to help her take off her shoes and pulled up the blanket.
Janelle watched him as he went to close the glass door and drew the curtains. Meanwhile, Trevor also turned off the balcony light.
As the light dimmed, Vera Ford in the next room felt her heart sink! She hadn’t seen who it was!
She quickly propped herself on the railing, leaning her head out to look over here!
But she couldn’t see anything, the curtains were drawn, so who were those two just now?? Jocelyn Morgan’s friends?
Vera was genuinely curious; anything related to Jocelyn Morgan, she wanted to know! 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
But she couldn’t figure out who was staying next door.
That night, Vera was destined to be sleepless. She’d indulge in her wild imagination, constructing a beautiful future world for herself.
In her perception, Jocelyn Morgan was already dead.
Perhaps what they would find tomorrow would be a bloated, hideous corpse from the water!
That scene, was what Vera most wanted to see.
In the room next door, Janelle slightly turned her head, looking at the sofa about four feet away, where Trevor, such a tall guy, could hardly curl up comfortably.
Spending the night like this would definitely be uncomfortable, and... he might catch a cold with only one blanket.
"Why don’t you sleep on the bed, too?" Janelle blinked, softly suggesting, "The sofa is too small, without a blanket you’ll catch a cold."
Trevor was slightly taken aback, then came to the bedside, meeting her gaze. Both were silent for a few seconds.
She saw a trace of pondering on his handsome face.
She pressed her lips together, controlling her rapidly beating heart, awkwardly waiting for his response.
"Alright." Trevor’s voice was gentle, full of respect for her. He also gallantly noted, "The bed is wide, we can each sleep on one side."
"..." Janelle withdrew her gaze, her cheeks slightly reddened.
Trevor noticed this hint of redness, not wanting her to feel embarrassed, he said in a relaxed tone, "We’ll sleep like this then, I don’t snore."
"I know." She replied casually.
This caused them both to almost simultaneously recall that night spent together at Darcy Manor in Eldoria.
Trevor sat by the bedside, and Janelle pressed her lips together, obediently closing her eyes.
She kept her ears open to the surroundings, feeling nervous because he was there, yet somewhat reassured by his presence.
Trevor turned his body to help her with the blanket, then lay down, covering himself as well, reaching out to turn off the light. The room dimmed considerably, becoming especially quiet.
The night deepened...
They could hear each other’s breathing and heartbeat, and inevitably thought of that night at Darcy Manor, where they were also forced to share a room and a bed.
That night, they were just as close.
That night, Janelle felt the same as she did tonight.
Thinking of these memories filled the girl’s heart with a sense of happiness. She seemed to catch the faint scent of Trevor and gradually fell asleep.
That night, Ian Shelby did not return to the inn. He was waiting by the riverside for a miracle to happen.
This big man, with reddened eyes and tears welling up, stubbornly refused to let them fall.
It was midnight, the rescue team was still busy. Driven by the motto of finding people alive or seeing their bodies even if dead, the team grew slowly, the river surface became lively.
The sky was gloomy, and suddenly it began to rain...
