Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1430: Trevor Is Injured
"Bro!"
"Bro! Have you picked a name for your baby yet?"
"Bro! How about I help you name it? I’ve been writing novels for years, and I’m really good at naming! Is my sister-in-law having a boy or a girl?"
"..."
In the stilted lodge inn.
Janelle took a hot shower, changed into clean clothes, and came out of the bathroom, smelling the aroma of ginger soup.
Trevor brought over a steaming bowl to her, "Here, drink it while it’s hot. I borrowed the innkeeper’s pot to make it; the temperature should be just right, not too hot."
"..." The girl looked at him drenched from head to toe, his hair still dripping water, feeling a pang of guilt.
Did he not even towel his hair before going down to personally make the ginger soup?
Trevor’s handsome brows furrowed slightly, focusing on her.
Moved, Janelle merely pursed her lips as she gazed at him, and despite her usual blunt nature, she felt an urge to cry.
Trevor saved her life, it was a tremendous favor.
The man held the bowl, meeting her tearful gaze, "What’s wrong with you?" he asked worriedly, "Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere?"
The girl sniffed, "No." She quickly reached out to take the bowl from his hand, "You should go take a shower, don’t catch a cold!" She felt sorry for him too. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"Alright." Trevor glanced at her, making sure there was no major issue before turning to walk into the bathroom.
Watching his retreating figure, Janelle found herself unable to even utter a thank you, feeling inexplicably sad.
Jumping from such a height, he actually didn’t hesitate...
Especially in this cold weather, in this icy river water.
Holding the warm ginger soup, she felt it heavy, and sat down on the sofa.
The room had long been warmed by the heater, and having just showered, she felt warm and comfortable, her hair dried until half-damp.
After sipping the ginger soup; though a bit pungent, as a lot of ginger had been used; to Janelle it tasted even sweeter than honey.
Soon, the sound of running water came from the bathroom.
Janelle glanced over, recalling the moment she was pushed into the river, experiencing an unprecedented fear, worse than during the landslide; she really thought she would die...
Jocelyn was pushed down and hasn’t been found yet.
Trevor swam towards her, and when he pulled her into his arms, it felt like a dream.
He took her with resolute determination towards the riverbank; in those last few seconds before losing consciousness, leaning against him, she felt unprecedented assurance.
She trusted him so much, believed he could bring her hope for survival.
In the steamy bathroom.
Trevor took off his jacket and unbuttoned his shirt, preparing to remove it when he felt a tugging pain in the back shoulder area.
He groaned softly, eyebrows furrowed slightly; could it be an injury?
That faint pain reminded him it was indeed an injury.
Trevor turned to check in the mirror and noticed that blood might have adhered to the clothes and formed a scab.
Standing in his shirt under the showerhead, as hot water seeped through the thin shirt into the wound, the piercing pain made him grit his teeth.
After wetting the shirt, he tried removing it...
Thinking back to when he jumped into the river, his back shoulder was scraped by a hidden underwater step; at the time, it didn’t hurt much.
His heart tensed further, grateful Janelle hadn’t hit the step headfirst; otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Thinking of this, Trevor felt grateful for the heavens’ kindness, while he harbored intense hatred for that woman, Vera Ford!
How Dr. Shelby is faring remains unknown.
Trevor removed his shirt, stood under the showerhead, with white steam billowing in the bathroom; his wheat-colored skin allowed the water to stream down, the shimmering droplets meandering down from his neck.
Sometimes he closed his eyes in contemplation, sometimes he opened them, those eyes, akin to thick ink.
Trevor, naturally outwardly cold but internally warm, always provides others with a sense of security because he lacked it from an early age.
For those he cares about, he will always protect them with all his might, even recklessly so.
