Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1457: Related to Dad
"Did you tell your mom about your dad’s marriage situation?" Trevor asked with concern.
"Not yet. She’s been in video conferences these past few days, and I haven’t had the chance to talk to her properly," Janelle sighed softly, turning her gaze towards the window. "I wonder what she’ll think once she finds out."
"You’ve been living with your mom all this time. Why do you think she hasn’t found anyone new all these years?" Trevor began analyzing this relationship with her.
Janelle thought seriously for a moment. Trevor gently prompted, "Is there any chance it might have something to do with your dad?"
What?
Janelle turned to look at him again, a hint of disbelief in her eyes. "Something to do with Dad?" For the first time, she calmly considered this possibility and actually thought it might not be impossible.
Trevor, driving the car, curiously asked, "Janelle, your mom is so beautiful and takes good care of herself. Hasn’t she had any suitors all these years?"
"Yes." She could answer this question immediately, and in her mind, images of several high-quality middle-aged men appeared. "And there’s one uncle I really liked. For a while, I gave in; I stopped hoping for my parents to get back together and encouraged Sister Sterling to start a new life, but she herself didn’t agree."
"So your mom still has lingering feelings for your dad. Think carefully about their real reason for divorce—was it really because there was no love left?"
"..." Janelle pondered this.
Trevor analyzed all this as if he were an outsider, and on the path toward her parents’ reconciliation, Trevor would contribute his own efforts, as this was Janelle’s wish.
In the small villa provided by Nathan Mills for Carlotta Sterling, a major shareholder of a real estate company sat on the sofa holding a home purchase agreement, waiting.
Because they were friends, and also because this was a significant deal.
Waiting for Janelle to come back to sign, and then a fully decorated apartment would be sold.
Carlotta stood by the window, arms crossed, looking out with mixed feelings. Buying a house wasn’t her obsession, and Nathan Mills had been like a ghost these days, not even his shadow was seen!
Humph! 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
She planned to move out!
Her heart seemed filled with pent-up frustration, yet she couldn’t pinpoint its source—it just felt uncomfortable!
She thought Janelle should be coming back soon, so Carlotta took out her phone and dialed Nathan Mills’ number.
In the Mills family, in the chilly breezy courtyard, Nathan Mills continued tending to the rose seedlings.
He was initially startled when he saw the number on the phone screen, then became worried, "Hello, Carlotta, what’s up?"
"Thank you for your help recently, but I’m not staying in the house anymore!" The woman said sullenly. "I bought a fully decorated apartment and plan to move out soon, just calling to let you know."
"You..." Nathan Mills was shocked and hurriedly asked, "Why? Is there something you’re uncomfortable with where you’re staying? Tell me if there’s any issue!"
Humph, not even a shadow to be seen!
Carlotta didn’t respond, instead angrily hung up the phone directly. Her heart had a premonition and a sort of anticipation that Nathan Mills might come over.
Indeed, the middle-aged man tending to the rose seedlings stood up and left without even washing his hands.
Being abruptly hung up on, he was anxious, as the caller was clearly emotional.
"Mr. Mills, where are you going?" The servant stood at the living room doorway calling, "Dinner is ready!" The night was about to fall.
"I have something to attend to," he replied, quickly getting into the car.
"Will you be back for dinner?"
"I don’t know." Nathan Mills replied, quickly starting the car again. He was quite puzzled; why would she leave when everything seemed fine?
He had said to call him if there was any issue, but he hadn’t received any calls from her these days—the only call was about moving out, which was truly strange.
Trevor’s car was parked in the courtyard of the small villa, and he and Janelle rapidly stepped towards the living room, peering through the floor-to-ceiling window at her mother, holding a phone with a face full of discontent.
