Chapter 528: Chapter 528: The Beauty Loses Her Temper

Hearing this, Lin Kuang was terribly frustrated. What is this nonsense? This old man is something else...

Zhantai Mingyue returned after clearing away the dishes. I have to admit, she’s surprisingly domestic, Lin Kuang thought, quite satisfied.

"Hey, take me shopping. I don’t like these clothes," Zhantai Mingyue said plaintively, coming to stand before him.

"Lady, what time is it? The malls aren’t even open yet. Where am I supposed to take you?" Lin Kuang said, exasperated.

"It’s so late already, why aren’t they open?" Zhantai Mingyue asked irritably.

"You call this late? Late? It’s not even eight in the morning yet!" Lin Kuang snapped, glaring at her.

"You’re being mean to me again," Zhantai Mingyue said with an aggrieved pout.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang felt like killing himself. I really want to kill myself. This is so damn frustrating!

"Hmph! I’m going to tell Grandpa on you!" Zhantai Mingyue huffed, turning to leave.

"My God, you little tyrant, don’t you dare disturb the old master! He needs his rest," Lin Kuang said, quickly grabbing her wrist.

"So, are you taking me shopping or not?" she asked, her lips still pursed.

"Fine, fine, I’ll take you! Is that good enough?!" Lin Kuang exclaimed, completely vexed.

"Hmph, I knew you’d give in. I was just bluffing, you know. Grandpa isn’t feeling well, so how could I possibly go and disturb him?" Zhantai Mingyue said with a grin, a hint of craftiness dancing in her beautiful eyes.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang was utterly speechless. I thought this girl was a bit of an airhead, but clearly, I was wrong. Zhantai Mingyue might be a bit naive and unfamiliar with worldly conventions, but she was certainly not stupid.

"Let’s go, I’ll take you shopping. But the malls really aren’t open yet," Lin Kuang said, feeling wronged.

"Okay, then just drive me around for a bit. I’ve never lived in a big city before; I want to see what it’s like," Zhantai Mingyue said with a smile.

"Fine, let’s go," Lin Kuang said with a touch of resignation. With that, he drove off with Zhantai Mingyue.

Zhantai Mingyue was curious about everything she saw. These novelties were things she had only seen on television, never in person. Staring at the towering skyscrapers in the distance, she marveled aloud at how they could even be built. Listening to her innocent questions, Lin Kuang smiled wryly and did his best to explain. For her part, Zhantai Mingyue simply nodded as if she understood, though it was clear she only half-grasped his answers.

When it was finally a little past nine in the morning, Lin Kuang drove straight to the mall.

They say women are born shopaholics, and that statement couldn’t be truer. Upon arriving, Zhantai Mingyue didn’t stop for a moment, buying this and that. She devoured all sorts of snacks, and at that moment, she was even holding two fried ice creams in her hands and eating them.

"This is so delicious! Life in the big city is great. I couldn’t eat anything like this back in the mountains," Zhantai Mingyue said between bites, her mood excellent and her pretty face a mask of pure enjoyment.

Seeing her like this, a smile touched Lin Kuang’s face. This girl really is quite endearing.

Just then, as Zhantai Mingyue was looking around, her ice cream bumped into a pedestrian. "Oh no, sorry, sorry! I didn’t mean to do that!" she quickly apologized.

The young man who was hit was about to lose his temper, but his expression instantly froze when he saw Zhantai Mingyue’s charming face. The next moment, a smile spread across it. "It’s okay, it’s okay. I can just wash it off. Don’t be scared, beauty."

The young man grinned as his hands started to creep toward her. The moment his palm touched her, Zhantai Mingyue jumped back in alarm.

"What—what are you doing?" she asked, her big eyes blinking as she watched him warily.

The young man paused, seemingly surprised that this little lamb was so vigilant. "Nothing!" he said quickly. "I just saw you got a little dirty and wanted to help you clean up."

"No need, I can get it myself. As long as you’re okay, then everything’s fine," Zhantai Mingyue said, flashing an innocent smile.

Seeing that smile, the young man was thrilled. She’s perfect! His eyes grew lecherous, as if he had just found the ultimate prey.

"Not so fast, beauty," the young man said with a smirk. "I can wash it off, but my clothes are still stained, aren’t they? You should compensate me for that, right?"

"Oh, that’s true. What kind of compensation did you have in mind?" Zhantai Mingyue asked, nodding with genuine curiosity.

"Well..." The young man’s eyes darted around for a moment before he proposed with a sleazy grin, "How about this: you spend the day with me, leave tomorrow morning, and we’ll call it even. How does that sound?"

He smiled at Zhantai Mingyue, his lascivious gaze roaming all over her, as if trying to see right through her clothes. At his look, Zhantai Mingyue couldn’t help but frown. His gaze disgusted her, and she hated it.

"What do you want me to accompany you for?" she couldn’t help but ask.

Hearing this, the young man chuckled to himself. Is this girl really that naive, or is she just playing dumb? What else would she accompany me for? Obviously, to do the things I love to do!

"Ahem, well... of course, it means you’ll let me do whatever I want with you," the young man said with a greasy smile.

At this, anger flared across Zhantai Mingyue’s pretty face. "You bastard! You’re a bad person!"

With that, she swung her delicate little fist straight at the young man’s face.

The young man just chuckled. Though I’m no martial arts expert, dealing with a delicate little girl should be child’s play, right?

He was wrong. Not just wrong, but terribly, catastrophically wrong.

As the young man reached out to block her, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but shut his eyes. It’s over. This guy is so screwed.

Just as Lin Kuang’s eyes closed, Zhantai Mingyue’s tiny fist slammed into the man’s face.

BANG!

THUD!

Two distinct sounds echoed as the young man was sent flying. He sailed back four or five meters before crashing violently to the ground. To make matters worse, a pedestrian bench stood right where he fell. His crotch slammed squarely into one of its legs.

"AIIIEEE, MOTHER OF—!"

The young man let out an agonizing howl, his hands instinctively clutching his crotch as his body curled up like a shrimp.

Seeing this, Zhantai Mingyue stuck her tongue out playfully. "Hmph, serves you right!"
