Unrivaled Soldier in the City
Chapter 546: Midnight Infiltration
A little over ten minutes later, the two men walked onto a private plane.
"Colonel Lin, please take a seat. I am Luo An, the person in charge here. I will be responsible for taking you to Tokyo," Luo An said with a smile, standing beside Lin Kuang.
Upon hearing this, Lin Kuang nodded. "Hello, Mr. Luo. Thank you for your help."
"Not at all. I’ll instruct the pilot to take off now." With that, Luo An excused himself.
Minutes later, the plane started down the long runway, then soared into the sky and disappeared into the clouds.
Once the plane had stabilized, Luo An returned. "Colonel Lin, there is plenty to eat and drink onboard. Please, feel free to help yourself to anything you need."
"Alright, thank you, Mr. Luo," Lin Kuang said with a smile.
Luo An nodded and left, returning to the cockpit.
Lin Kuang was in no mood for food or drink. He wished he could appear before Mu Wan that very instant, his heart pounding with a mix of tension and excitement. However, he knew he couldn’t be reckless. Mu Wan was in a military district in Tokyo, so his first and most crucial step was to find a way to contact her. The security measures there were undoubtedly formidable, and it wouldn’t be easy for him to get inside.
「Nearly three hours later」
The plane arrived at Tokyo’s Narita Airport.
When the plane came to a complete stop, Luo An approached him again. "Colonel Lin, this is as far as I can take you. I wish you good luck," he said with a smile.
Lin Kuang nodded. "Yes, thank you for everything, Mr. Luo."
With those words, Lin Kuang turned and walked straight off the plane.
Taking a deep breath as he surveyed the bustling terminal, Lin Kuang blended into the stream of people and made his way out of the airport. After getting his bearings, he decided against meeting his contact person, instead hailing a taxi directly to an area near the military district where Mu Wan was being held.
There, Lin Kuang casually found a hotel and checked into a room. He put on a disguise to conceal his identity before heading back out.
It was impossible for him to simply walk into the military district, but that didn’t stop him from observing its activities. He kept his distance, circling the perimeter a couple of times to familiarize himself with the layout before returning to his hotel.
Lying on the bed, he muttered to himself, It doesn’t look easy to get in. There are so many surveillance cameras.
To get inside the military district, he had to avoid those cameras. But there were too many, with overlapping fields of view that left almost no blind spots. Their beams swept back and forth, making it difficult for even a fly to get through, let alone a grown man like him. On top of that, soldiers were patrolling and standing guard. Lin Kuang would have to evade both the guards and the cameras—an incredibly difficult task.
This method is too dangerous, he thought. But without any other options, it might be the only way. I’ll check again tonight. If a better way presents itself, I’ll abandon this idea. If not, I’ll have no choice.
Checking the time, Lin Kuang sat cross-legged on the bed and began his cultivation.
Time flew by, and before he knew it, evening had arrived.
At ten o’clock sharp, Lin Kuang opened his eyes. Seeing that it was already dark outside, he opened his door and stepped out.
Once outside the hotel, Lin Kuang took out his phone and sent a text message to Mu Wan. He didn’t call, fearing she might be under surveillance; a text was much safer. A moment later, he received a two-word reply from Mu Wan.
A smile spread across Lin Kuang’s face. He had only told her to wait for him in her room without revealing his identity, as he wanted to give her a surprise.
After turning off his phone, Lin Kuang vanished into the night.
Ten minutes later, he arrived at the base of a perimeter wall. During his daytime reconnaissance, he had identified this spot as the only place that seemed relatively safe.
His body shot upwards in a sudden leap, his hands catching the top of the wall without making a sound. He carefully peeked his head over to look inside. His view was filled with patrolling soldiers and sweeping surveillance cameras, making him frown.
This won’t be easy, he muttered to himself.
Just then, a soldier from the Island Country walked briskly to the base of the wall right below Lin Kuang, unzipped his pants, and began to relieve himself.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang’s eyes lit up. Here’s my chance!
With a surge of strength in his arms, he dropped silently into the compound, landing directly behind the preoccupied soldier. The man had no idea he was there.
Without a second thought, Lin Kuang clamped a hand over the man’s throat and killed him instantly. He quickly stripped the uniform from the body and put it on. When he stepped out from the shadows, he was the spitting image of a soldier from the Island Country.
Pleased with how smoothly things were going, Lin Kuang began walking confidently out in the open. After a quick scan of his surroundings, he headed straight for the building where Mu Wan was staying.
"Stop!"
As he reached the entrance, two soldiers from the Island Country blocked his path, and Lin Kuang immediately froze.
"What are you doing?" one of them asked.
"My stomach hurts. I urgently need a bathroom. Please, let me through," Lin Kuang said in fluent Japanese. He clutched his stomach, his face contorted in pain and beads of sweat dripping from his forehead, making his distress look very real.
Seeing his state, the two soldiers frowned.
"Please, I really can’t hold it anymore," Lin Kuang pleaded.
Looking at Lin Kuang’s pained expression, one of the soldiers said to the other, "You take him. Make sure he comes right back out when he’s done."
"Yes! Follow me," the other guard said, gesturing for Lin Kuang to follow him toward the restrooms.
Lin Kuang let out a silent sigh of relief and quickly followed.
When they reached the restroom, the soldier pointed inside. "Go on. Make it quick."
"Yes," Lin Kuang replied, walking toward the restroom.
Just as he reached the doorway, he suddenly sprang into action, yanking the unsuspecting soldier into the restroom with him. Before the man could even react, Lin Kuang had killed him.
After a quick look around, Lin Kuang dragged the body into one of the stalls to hide it, then walked back out.
He hurried up the stairs to the sixth floor. He knew time was of the essence; if he took too long, the remaining guard at the entrance would inevitably suspect something was wrong. Upon reaching the sixth floor, Lin Kuang went straight to room 618—Mu Wan’s room.
Standing at the door, his heart filled with a mixture of tension and excitement. In the next moment, he would see Mu Wan, his childhood sweetheart. The feeling was so overwhelming that he struggled to remain calm.
Taking a breath, Lin Kuang knocked gently on the door. "I’m here," he said softly, his voice thick with an excitement he couldn’t hide.
