Venerable Demon Chef
Chapter 248 - 245: Let Me Avenge You First
"You dare scan San Pang with your Divine Sense!"
Jin Sanpang erupted in fury.
In the Martial Arts World, casually scanning someone with Divine Sense was an extremely outrageous act.
It usually signified contempt and provocation.
Seeing that Jin Sanpang was about to make a move, Liu Hui quickly grabbed him.
Now was not the time to fall out with Nangong Jie.
Even if he had to, he couldn’t drag Jin Sanpang into it.
"To be able to make a fifteen-year-old Vajra Realm expert so obedient, I have to say, you’ve successfully piqued my interest."
Nangong Jie sized up Liu Hui with great interest.
"Speak. What’s your name? I’m very curious as to what grudge exists between us."
Jin Sanpang’s outstanding talent forced Nangong Jie to seriously reconsider his conflict with Liu Hui.
If it was just minor friction, it would be best to resolve it.
Unless absolutely necessary, he didn’t want to make a mortal enemy of a peerless genius like Jin Sanpang.
Liu Hui snorted coldly, the hatred in his eyes completely undisguised.
"My name is Liu Hui. Does Eldest Young Master Nangong still remember that name?"
"Liu Hui?" Nangong Jie’s brow twitched, his expression turning incredibly strange.
"The bastard my great-grandfather threw out of the Imperial City eleven years ago? You’re actually still alive!"
The word "bastard" made Liu Hui’s anger skyrocket, and he instantly completed his Dragon Transformation.
A monstrous rage, like fuel, blazed within him. The bottleneck of the Early-stage Purity Realm was directly shattered, and his Cultivation reached the Mid-stage Purity Realm.
"Oh, you can transform? Where did you learn such a cheap trick? What, you want to fight me?" Nangong Jie sneered. "Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Even if you broke through in your Cultivation, you still can’t take a single blow from me!"
After learning Liu Hui’s identity, Nangong Jie knew that the enmity between them could never be resolved.
So, rather than let him continue to grow, it was better to find a way to kill him now!
In their attitude toward Liu Hui, Nangong Jie and Nangong An were, for once, in perfect agreement.
Liu Hui stared daggers at Nangong Jie. Due to his rage, the Dragon Energy coiling around his body churned violently.
Affected by the Dragon Energy, the Dragon Scales on his body began to vibrate rapidly, emitting a series of low hums that sounded like a great dragon’s roar.
"Getting angry?" Nangong Jie chuckled, deciding to provoke Liu Hui further. "But what can you do to me?"
In the Imperial Academy, retaliating in self-defense was not a crime.
As long as Liu Hui couldn’t resist attacking him, he could kill him justifiably.
However, Liu Hui didn’t attack. Instead, he was doing his utmost to suppress his anger.
’He can even endure this? No matter. I’d like to see how long you can hold out!’ Nangong Jie thought to himself.
"By the way, if I recall correctly, you suffered severe injuries in the womb, were born prematurely, and had your Innate Essence Energy depleted. You shouldn’t have lived this long."
"Guess who ordered the attack on your mother back then."
Liu Hui’s heart suddenly trembled, and a sharp glint flashed in his eyes.
’Could it be...’
"And guess again, who was responsible for your father’s mysterious disappearance?"
"Was it you?" Liu Hui asked, his voice cold and lifeless.
"No, no, no, how could it be me? Eleven years ago, I was just a half-grown brat." Nangong Jie shook his head, then sneered sinisterly. "It was my great-grandfather who sent someone to intentionally injure you while you were still in the womb!"
"Because of that, your mother was left with a chronic illness. Especially after giving birth to you prematurely, her Martial Dao foundation was completely destroyed. She went from being a famous Heavenly Chosen of the Imperial Academy to a mortal who needed Spirit Medicine just to stay alive."
"For your mother’s sake, your father went out to desperately earn Spirit Stones and search for all kinds of Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures. The Nangong Family just set a small trap, and that idiot died without a proper burial. HAHAHA."
Liu Hui felt as if he had been struck by lightning. He was completely dumbfounded.
Ever since he could remember, he had barely seen his father.
In his memory, his father always seemed exhausted and busy.
During the most difficult time for him and his mother, his father suddenly disappeared.
He had always believed that his father had abandoned them back then, thinking he and his mother were a burden.
Because of this, he had secretly hated his father for over a decade.
He never expected the truth to be this!
"Why?" Liu Hui asked. "Throwing my mother and me out of the Imperial City, I can understand that being because of Nangong Yan. But before that, why target me in the womb? Why kill my father?"
Nangong Jie’s smile didn’t waver. "Because your mother refused to become my great-grandfather’s concubine. Instead, she chose your father, one of the most ordinary disciples in the Imperial Academy. She was offered a great honor and threw it back in his face!"
"So all of this was Nangong An’s revenge on our family of three?"
"Revenge? You think you’re worthy? That was just teaching you a lesson!"
Liu Hui closed his eyes as two lines of tears slid from their corners.
Ridiculous!
Utterly ridiculous!
Nangong An had probably lived for several thousand years.
But Liu Hui’s mother, even if she were still alive today, would be no older than fifty.
Just because she refused to be his concubine, the great Nangong Family had actually done something so utterly deranged!
"San Pang can’t take it anymore! This is infuriating! That damn Nangong An is even more detestable than Zhang Shao!"
Jin Sanpang beat his chest and roared, raising his hammer to strike.
Liu Hui reached out and stopped him.
"Dazed Dragon, you can tolerate even this? San Pang looks down on you!" Jin Sanpang roared, his eyes red and his neck stiff with rage.
Liu Hui shook his head, then turned to Nangong Jie. "I, Liu Hui, swear to the heavens: Within ten years, I will annihilate your entire Nangong An lineage!"
"Ten years? Hahaha, are you telling a joke?" This time, Nangong Jie was truly amused.
Before Liu Hui could speak, a voice filled with killing intent rang out from behind Nangong Jie.
"That’s right, he is telling a joke. To annihilate your Nangong An lineage, why would it take ten years? Half a year is more than enough!"
"Who’s there?!"
Nangong Jie was shocked. Someone had gotten close to him without him noticing.
His figure flashed as he retreated to the side. Twisting his head to look, he saw a youth of about fifteen or sixteen, dressed in a black robe.
"Master!"
"Mo... Oh no, Brother Qin!"
The newcomer was none other than Mo Qi’s External Incarnation!
Although he had been in the Cultivation Room the whole time, the arrival of Liu Hui and Jin Sanpang couldn’t possibly have escaped his notice.
Not even the Cultivation Rooms here could block the scent of the Medicinal Cuisine.
Being so close, Mo Qi could even perceive the physical and mental states of Liu Hui and Jin Sanpang.
So, when Liu Hui recognized Nangong Jie and lost his composure for the first time, Mo Qi thought something had happened and had already left the Cultivation Room.
But he had been hiding nearby the whole time, not revealing himself.
Therefore, Mo Qi had heard everything Nangong Jie said.
He had never imagined that Liu Hui had such a tragic background and had suffered so much.
Other than Fang Min and the old woman who had tortured Niu Kexin, this was the third time Mo Qi had felt such an urgent desire to destroy someone.
He had already marked Nangong An for death.
"Liu Hui, a guy like this, if you don’t kill him, are you planning to save him for New Year’s?" Mo Qi asked, pointing at Nangong Jie with extreme dissatisfaction.
"Master, I... I was afraid of implicating..."
"Fucking bullshit!" Mo Qi cut Liu Hui off, his face contorted with rage. This was the first time in his life he had ever cursed so crudely in front of others.
He ignored Nangong Jie, walked up to Liu Hui, and grabbed him by the collar.
"I fucking treat you like a brother, and you’re talking to me about ’implicating’ me?"
"I..." Liu Hui felt a lump form in his throat, and he couldn’t speak.
"’I’ what? Get the hell aside and reflect on what you just said! I’m going to get you some revenge first, or I’ll feel like shit!"
PS: I’ve seen a lot of readers say the updates are slow. To be fair, I guarantee three Chapters a day. They might be posted a bit late, but you can’t really call that slow, can you?
But regardless, I’ll work hard to build up a stockpile of Chapters and try to have a mass release once a month!
A group mwah to everyone, and thank you all for your support!
