This novel finally reached its end, and it’s actually a difficult farewell for me because this novel is so precious to me.

In February 2022, I started writing this novel when there was a writing prompt contest with a Werewolf theme. I have a werewolf novel published in 2021 before I started writing this novel, and that’s why I was hesitant to join the contest. I just don’t like to write novels with the same genre again and again, and that’s why it was difficult to decide back then.

But then I was suddenly interested in Eastern Fantasy novels because I always enjoyed reading them. I always think: "It must be so cool to write something like that."

That’s indeed my opinion, but I was doubtful to start writing Xianxia or Wuxia novels because my knowledge about them was limited. I was scared to start writing a novel in that genre, but one day I decided to challenge myself. So, with very limited knowledge of Chinese culture and history, I started writing this novel last year.

I didn’t expect that this novel would win the second prize in the contest. With that achievement, this novel got promoted by this platform a lot, and I’m so thankful for that. Maybe this book’s achievement can’t be compared to other popular BL novels on this platform, but I still feel lucky to have more than 2k readers reading this book. Sometimes I even doubted that this book deserved all the attention it received in the past year.

Just like what I said before, I have very limited knowledge of Chinese culture and history, and that’s why this novel is not as detailed as other Xianxia or Wuxia novels. That one thing is indeed this novel’s weakness, and I feel very embarrassed because of that. You surely can feel that this novel lacks those detailed Chinese elements, right? That’s why I’d like to apologize for that.

Aside from that weakness, I have to admit that I’m not good at writing fighting scenes. If you’ve finished reading this novel, I’m pretty sure you could see how bad I was when it came to fighting scenes. The scenes are far from detailed, and maybe it feels awkward and lame instead. Therefore, I sincerely apologize for that too.

It’s really embarrassing when I’m listing this novel’s weaknesses, and that’s why I also think that this novel probably doesn’t deserve all the gifts the readers have given it, right? When SupremeGhost gifted this novel with a Massage Chair, I was so surprised because that was the biggest gift I’d ever received back then. And then fujonick sent me a Luxury Car, and that was also a big surprise because I’d never received that kind of gift before. Even VitaminCdotC kept sending me Inspiration Capsules and Pizza, and I’m doubtful that this novel deserves all those gifts.

Nonetheless, I appreciate those gifts, and I once again apologize if this novel isn’t as good as your expectation. I can see some readers dropped this novel instead of continuing to read it, and that’s sure because this book is boring and not good enough, right? I can understand that, and maybe some readers even think that this novel is no different from the trash. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

But this trash means a lot to me. It’s like proof that I could leave my comfort zone when I dared to challenge myself by writing it. I woke up at 3 am every day just to write this novel, and I studied Chinese culture and history too because of this novel. I’m a full-time worker, and that’s why it was not easy for me to finish my novels, but I still tried my best to write them even if I had to sacrifice my sleeping time.

For some readers, this novel is indeed no better than trash, but it’s my everything. This novel is my favorite among my other novels. I enjoyed the time when I wrote this novel, and I think it was the easiest to write the plot for this novel compared to my other novels. I love the characters here, and that’s why it’s not easy to part with them. For me, Bai Chen and Wu Jinhai are like my babies, and that’s why it’s sad when it’s time to say goodbye to them.

In the past year, this novel managed to heal me from my depression, and that’s why I treasure this novel a lot. Even if some readers dropped it, it’s still so precious to me, and that’s why I even wrote a sequel for this novel. Bai Chen and Wu Jinhai aren’t the only characters I love, and that’s why I decided to write the sequel for Yu Ming and Wu Jingguo. However, Bai Chen and Wu Jinhai’s story will continue in the sequel too, so if you want to read it, please wait until April 20 when I will post the first four Chapters of the novel.

I won’t force you to read the novel, though. After all, I’m still not confident with my writing skill, and that’s why I can only subtly promote it, LOL~
