I got her to make an official Merc hustle that we would accept and took that job back to my girls to explain our new job and also the new things we learned about Biotamers.

Even though she technically only needed me around to make sure the animals don’t go berserk in case her rival intended to sabotage the viewing by unleashing all the animals on the guests, she was also concerned that Kaito might resort to more conventional means by getting some thugs to attack the exhibition as well.

While Yuki no doubt had her own guards to help protect the place, she wouldn’t say no to getting more help as well.

And with the fact that she was paying me four hundred million Credits to side with her... I don’t see a problem with that.

There was the additional point that I would also help her take down Kaito to ensure she gets the security contract attached to it but seeing how that guy tried to screw us over and was being an absolute miser with his money, I would have helped her deal with him even if she offered less money.

But she didn’t need to know that, of course.

"So that guy was trying to screw us from the start..." Lea commented, sounding more amused than pissed.

"Well... Are you really surprised? An idiot like that who wants to keep all the good guns for himself definitely isn’t a good person!" Ries commented.

Yumiko nodded in agreement, "Someone who would stab their own family in the back would definitely stab others in the back as well."

I’m not sure what to say to that so I just kept my mouth shut about him.

I cleared my throat, "Ahem... Anyway... The first thing would be to make sure Yuki’s event proceeds smoothly and we get rid of any problems that show up during the event. The second thing would be to help her deal with Kaito to make sure she gets the contract for the station’s security."

"Well, pretty sure this is going to be an easy job if you ask me," Amber chuckled.

I narrowed my eyes at her, "Don’t jinx it."

"What? Come on. What’s the worst that can happen? Maybe he goes ahead and disables the exhibit controls and unleashes all those creatures inside. Then all you need to do is just shout for them to stop and they would just stop, right? No problem at all~"

"First of all, I don’t even know what’s the limit for my Biotamer thing... In fact, I’m still having my doubts about me being one of them."

Lea tilted her head, "But that would explain everything that you have done so far, Mistress? Why else would you be able to control all those creatures like that?"

"I dunno, maybe it’s one of the perks I took that I forgot about or something. At least the Psionic thing I was able to confirm since I have to actively control the power but the Biotamer thing feels like it’s just a coincidence. The animals that I have come across are creatures that I already know to be at least friendly though..."

Except for the snapping turtle. That one definitely wouldn’t let me pat its head if it was the exact same as the snapping turtles from my universe... But since it’s the first turtle I’ve seen here, it could just be a coincidence and not a rule.

"Even if that’s the case, Mistress, it means you can control these creatures quite easily."

"Like I said, I don’t know what’s the limit for that... You remember those creatures that were attacking Clement’s ship right? Those were definitely hostile towards me as well... And they definitely weren’t drugged like the turtle so they definitely had all intentions to kill me. And when I took a look at the creatures that Yuki had in that zoo of hers... She had a couple of alien creatures that I didn’t recognise either so those creatures might be hostile to me."

Amber gestured at me, "Yeah, but even if those creatures were to be hostile to you, you could just call the dogs to subdue them anyway. I don’t think there’s anything there that can beat them."

Well... I don’t really think it’ll be that easy but I guess that’s one of the things I could do...

"But well... I guess the second part is the hard part..." I mused.

"Hmm? I think it would be quite easy to fulfill the second part, Captain," Mara disagreed.

I turned to her, "How so? We have to make sure that Kaito and his company don’t trouble Yuki anymore and she can secure the security contract for this Pleasure Station too. How do we do that?"

She raised a finger, "We can always just go with the most straightforward solution, Captain."

I raised an eyebrow, "And what is the most straightforward solution?"

"Well, obviously we just go in there and kill everyone. There can’t be anything more straightforward than that, right?"

I blinked at her for a good few seconds before I managed to formulate a response, "Just... Go in and kill them all?"

"Yes."

"Isn’t that like... Illegal? You know... Like murder?"

"Of course."

"Then why are you suggesting something like that?"

"Simple. We just don’t leave any traces of us behind and no one will know who did it."

"You speak as if it’s that easy to wipe out any traces of us being there."

Mara smiled at me and pointed at Ries, "With your help, Captain, she can hack into any security system and wipe out all the records of us ever being there."

She then pointed at Amber, "She can then raze the entire place to the ground in a fire to destroy any physical evidence."

The doctor then pointed to herself, "I can read the minds of everyone around to make sure there are no witnesses and if there are, they will also be made to forget about it."

Then finally she pointed at Renata, "And she can dispose of any other evidence that cannot be burned. There will be quite literally nothing left for people to find."

Right... I guess something like that would be impossible to do if you didn’t have a crew like ours...

I cleared my throat, "Ahem... Ok... Let’s just keep that as a last resort... I’m not in favour of going around killing a whole bunch of people if I can help it... Is there another way?"

"Of course, the second method is to just convince him to give up on that contract."

"What... Like go and meet him and negotiate with him or something?"

"Of course not, we just threaten him and make sure he can’t disobey. Or we ruin him financially to the point he loses his company~"

"Again... You say that as if it’s easy to do, Mara..."

She tapped on the side of her head, "A person like him... He’s bound to have many secrets, Captain. Secrets that would definitely ruin him if they were exposed. I’ve been the cause of many such instances, Captain."

Oh right... I forgot she moonlights as an underground informant when she isn’t working as a Gene Splicer...

Ahhh whatever... That thing will be something for us to worry about after we deal with the exhibition anyway so we can figure something out afterwards.

In fact... Seeing that we are already expecting that Kaito guy to do something during the exhibition, we might even get another option to deal with him pop up during the exhibition itself.

So for now, I would like to focus on a more important question that I would like to bring up to the girls...

"Do you girls want to relax in the Pleasure Station after the work is done? I mean... Since we’re here and all, right? We didn’t even get the chance to go to that resort planet the last time so why not have a vacation here for a few days?"

Amber raised an eyebrow, "Don’t we have the job from that military guy as well? Do we have time for that?"

"He just told us to report to him to get our assignment. He didn’t actually give us a time limit to reach him right? So we can take our time there~"

Yumiko was quick to agree, "I think that’s a great idea, Mistress~ We deserve a break here. I’m in favour of it~"

I thought it was a little suspicious that she was so enthusiastic about it but I chalked it up to her being excited about being able to relax on a Pleasure Station I guess.

The others also agreed and we decided that once our job with Yuki was done, we wouldn’t just leave straight away but spend at least a few days on the station and taking advantage of its facilities to take a break as well.

Nice... Now I can fulfil my true purpose here...
