When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase
Chapter 870: Sheng Yanxiao vs. Su Weiyi (Part 3)
Sheng Yanxiao glanced at him without speaking. As a close friend, Si Nian knew very well the little thoughts of the young man across from him.
Sighing, he said, "Honestly, Yanxiao, she’s about to finish the entrance exams and head to university. What’s your plan? In high school, you couldn’t date because it’s frowned upon, but in university, it’s quite common. Aren’t you afraid she’ll find a boyfriend as soon as she gets there?"
These words made Sheng Yanxiao frown. His features were striking, with his father’s boldness and his mother’s gentleness. The two contrasting qualities intertwined to make him look both rebellious and irresistible, prompting people to want to smooth his furrowed brow.
Si Nian immediately felt as though he had misspoken, but then he saw Sheng Yanxiao’s eyebrows relax and his thin lips curl into a faint, elusive smile. The youthful face carried an air of maturity and steadiness, as if he had everything under control.
Si Nian didn’t say anything further, looking down at the red bean mousse cake in front of him, and then he called the waiter to buy another one.
With the language exam over, a large number of students poured out of the school gates. Su Weiyi, dressed in a red dress, stood out among the crowd. When she got out of the car in the morning, she had told Tang Yanqi and the others not to wait for her. She didn’t want to make a big deal out of it; it was just an exam, and keeping calm was the most important thing. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"Xiao Yi, do you have someone picking you up?"
Chen Ajia asked, and Su Weiyi shook her head. "No."
"Me neither. How about we go grab something to eat and then find somewhere to rest?"
"Sure."
Su Weiyi didn’t refuse. After taking just a few steps, she noticed a familiar figure standing under a tree. The young man was as handsome as the wind, casually dressed in a white T-shirt and black athletic pants, his thick eyebrows casting an unreadable gaze, like a beautiful ink wash painting.
Su Weiyi was momentarily stunned, her mind unable to process anything before a figure suddenly popped up beside her. "Hey, sister, come on over and have some snacks."
Si Nian appeared out of nowhere, blocking Su Weiyi’s view. Startled, she glanced at him and then smiled faintly. "Hello, why are you...?"
"I’m here for my goddess. I heard from Brother Xiao that you were also taking the exam here, so I had to come support both of you. Can’t have people saying I value romance over friendship, right? Come, sister, have some red bean mousse cake, and good luck this afternoon."
Su Weiyi wasn’t very familiar with Si Nian, having only met a few times because he was close to Sheng Yanxiao. As the only son of the Si Family, Si Nian, like Sheng Yanxiao, didn’t study much, but the difference was that Si Nian almost always secured the top spot in his grade. Yet he never gave off the vibe of a model student, coming across more as Sheng Yanxiao’s sidekick.
Every part of him radiated a quirky vibe. Although a young master from a wealthy family, he didn’t have an air of aloofness; instead, he seemed very approachable.
Su Weiyi instinctively glanced again at the spot under the tree, but the familiar figure was already gone. Si Nian followed her gaze and then handed her a piece of cake. "Sister, all the best!"
After saying this, he quickly ran off.
Su Weiyi pressed her lips together, suddenly realizing that she wasn’t alone. Turning around, she found Chen Ajia staring at her in shock.
"Xiao Yi, was that...?"
"A classm—"
Su Weiyi started to say "classmate," but suddenly remembered something and changed it to, "Someone I know."
