Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?
Chapter 1371 - 858: Sain’s Preaching, Teaching, and Problem-Solving (Part 2)
Thanks to the impact of the Scameroon war, a large number of adventurers flooded into various dungeons to start collecting resources to sell for war profits in Scameroon. Naturally, brick movers also entered the Sain Dungeon to scavenge for any usable resources.
Gong Qiying noticed that the market price for everything related to the Biomimetic Tear Drop has remained consistently high, proving that items that can be used to save lives are always in demand no matter when or where.
The new blood magic in the Blood Dynasty caused some ripples, but the impact wasn't particularly significant, especially compared to the trends over at Lake Lienia, which were negligible by comparison.
The Yanor Kingdom is even more peaceful than the Warrior Country, and with no internal or external worries, the biggest concern for citizens each day is probably what to eat for their next meal. The presence of the culinary district has made the obesity rate in the areas around the Royal Capital, where benefits are reaped first, skyrocket towards being the highest in the world, and obviously, the officials still haven't realized the need to advise people to pay attention to their health.
The changes in Lake Lienia have had an unexpected impact on the local economy, with the fervor of adventurers growing under the manipulation of capitalist interests. The entire Lake District is filled with bloodthirsty adventurers seeking monsters to slay.
However, such scenes are common in the Sain Dungeon; those unaware of this would be extremely shocked. Gong Qiying's main point of interest is the Sain Ancient City.
The strategy progress on the Sain Ancient City by the Yanor Kingdom was surprisingly slow, but it seems this slowness will soon come to an end.
The constantly changing paths and never-ending sinister tricks in the Sain Ancient City have utterly enraged every adventurer.
Strategy groups, including Leon's team, have joined forces to initiate a campaign at the adventurer's guild to completely conquer the Sain Ancient City. The strategy groups are spending lavishly on rewards for participants with an unyielding resolve to finally conquer the damned Sain Ancient City, with current participation already numbering in the thousands.
While a thousand may not seem like a large number, those willing to help are all experts capable of overcoming the challenging hurdles to reach Yanor Londo. This makes the quality of this hastily formed large group exceedingly high.
Hundreds of teams formed by experts are now relentlessly destroying everything in the Sain Ancient City, and from Gong Qiying's observations, it will probably take these people no more than two to three days to fully conquer the place.
"This feeling of inciting public outrage... it might sound a bit cheap to say it, but it really feels quite satisfying."
From time to time, Gong Qiying, who observes adventurers' grievances about the Sain Dungeon at the guild, let out a light sigh.
Since the adventurers from the Yanor Kingdom are already desperately trying to strategize the Sain Ancient City, what about the Scameroon adventurers who, like them, are a pair of star-crossed lovers?
Gong Qiying swiped a couple of times on the crystal ball to find Scameroon's image.
"Is it almost over?"
————————————
"Damn Sain!"
Luluwo extended her middle finger towards the kilometer-long trap-filled bridge below, giving a very cordial greeting.
She didn't add any other words after "Sain," so it's unclear whether she was cursing the Sain Dungeon or the Sain Ancient City, although it's likely she was cursing both at once.
Even the ever so innocent Tami was possessed by the madness, raising his arms high and shouting, "I finally made it up here! Hahaha!"
"Is it finally over..."
Berto murmured weakly while lying on the ground. It's not that he didn't want to get up; it's just that his legs were too weak.
Now, only three survivors remained inside the Sain Ancient City, but their cheers echoed for a long time within the dim ancient city.
They have triumphantly stood atop the Sain Ancient City.
Successfully traversing all the Trap Bridges!
"I will remember your sacrifices." Tami thanked the air sincerely, presumably addressing his fallen companions.
Their achievements today could not have been accomplished without the sacrifices of others.
They entered as a full team, gradually losing members one by one until Hevi and others' voluntary sacrifices supported Luluwo and the two others in their successful ascent, completing a previously unachievable feat. They finally overcame all the Trap Bridges and set foot on the reassuring top level.
This is a small step for Luluwo but a giant leap for the adventurers from Hepa Town!
Though they successfully reached the summit, their spirits were high, yet the adventure instincts engraved deeply in their logic drove them to find a bonfire in a very hidden corner.
Tears came to their eyes when they saw the warm bonfire.
If it weren't for the fact that the flames of the bonfire would actually burn them, Luluwo might have rushed up to hug it already.
"I almost forgot what a bonfire looks like!"
Spending days idling in the Sain Ancient City, in a place with no bonfires where the Trap Bridges exist, suddenly seeing a new bonfire is like meeting an old friend after many years, filled with immense joy.
The exhausted trio sat around the bonfire to warm up and regain their strength, looking like three homeless people huddled together for warmth.
Just then, the communication tool hanging on Luluwo's waist rang, and Fingerley's anxious voice came through:
"How did you do, did you succeed?"
"Yes," Luluwo replied with a trembling voice, and immediately the sound of cheers from Fingerley and others came from the other end of the communication.
After spending so much time, effort, and manpower, they finally got someone to the top. It didn't matter who made it up; what mattered was that they succeeded.
The strategy, refined through many iterations, finally succeeded. This truly was a relay race between people, and now was the time to replicate this success to get more people up there, eventually fully conquering the Sain Ancient City.
"Did you find the bonfire, or is it still missing above? Be sure to be careful until you find a bonfire." Hevi's voice came through; they were probably at the ancient city gate, facing a 365-mile journey.
"We've found it, rest assured."
Luluwo looked up at the ceiling, feeling faint tremors from above as if some massive creature was moving slowly.
The fact they could sense its movements meant that the distance between them was not actually very far.
"Let's rest for another half hour, then try to traverse all the paths. If we encounter the boss, we'll start the fight immediately without waiting for you."
"That's fine, with half an hour we likely won't be able to send any newcomers up. But be careful since it's been hard getting up there," Fingerley said.
"Understood." Luluwo ended the communication, closed her eyes to rest and recuperate.
Once everyone's strength was restored, they continued exploring the newly appeared path, feeling emotional to be on a proper path instead of the danger-filled bridge.
Once off the bridge, the danger level dropped drastically, with the only novelty being nearly every upward staircase having flaming iron balls rolling down. If hit, they would be bruised and battered, so they all moved with utmost speed, dodging as they advanced.
After ascending what seemed like countless staircases, Luluwo finally caught a glimpse of light.
Not the light of a torch, but the faint light of the sun!
"It's just up there!"
Luluwo finally saw the doorway leading to the very top, where the sunset's rays shone down through the entryway, arousing a longing for it!
They could finally leave this damp, haunted place!
