Wilderness: I Tame Beasts to Survive
Chapter 247 - 199: Dark Armor
A moment later, Xiao Fei Lin... or rather, the now much larger Fei Lin, snapped out of her daze.
"Eee..."
She rubbed her red-rimmed eyes and blinked, her lips forming a slight pout. Lifting her head, she scanned the darkness before her. The moment she saw Han Ning smiling at her, the sorrow on her face vanished. The black longsword in her hand dissolved into innumerable black tendrils, which crawled up her arm and disappeared into her body.
Then, her feet shifted slightly.
WHOOSH~
A gentle breeze washed over him.
Han Ning felt something in his arms, cool to the touch like jade, yet soft like a human body.
Undead Creatures were unlikely to possess the same body temperature as a normal human.
Feeling the surprising resilience of the body in his arms, Han Ning impassively loosened his embrace.
There was no denying Fei Lin was a great beauty, but just like with Yin Yi, he had always regarded her as a daughter figure.
Besides, Fei Lin wasn’t truly human, and he didn’t harbor any peculiar tastes.
"Eee~ eee~"
Even after her Awakening as a Dark Mirror Knight, Fei Lin still couldn’t speak like a human. The sounds that came from her throat remained simple syllables, like a baby’s.
’Aside from getting taller and her chest getting bigger, her intelligence doesn’t seem to have improved much... Could this be a common weakness for all Soul Beasts?’
Han Ning mused to himself as he gazed into Fei Lin’s pure and innocent eyes.
Although Fei Lin possessed an incredibly human-like form and was much more intelligent than other Soul Beasts, she was, in essence, still constrained by her nature as a Soul Beast.
The greatest difference between an intelligent Race and a Soul Beast was sapience. The former could think rationally and create civilizations, while the latter fell far short.
Han Ning also noticed that after absorbing the Biological Armor, a strange "tattoo" resembling a crest had appeared on the back of each of Fei Lin’s snow-white hands.
"Biological Armor... If it can form a weapon, can it also form a suit of Armor? Fei Lin, can you try?"
Han Ning said with a smile.
"Eee~"
At his words, Fei Lin took a few steps back as plumes of black smoke began to rise from the dark markings on the backs of her hands.
Immediately after, dense black tendrils surged out, instantly encasing her nearly 1.9-meter-tall body.
In just three seconds, a knight clad in heavy black armor, looking as if they had stepped straight out of the Middle Ages, stood before him.
Wearing the heavy armor, Fei Lin’s height grew to just over two meters.
The black armor, which was covered in dark red Runes, was spattered with flecks of blood.
Fei Lin reached out, her hand closing on empty air.
The black tendrils continued to spread, forming a two-handed Giant Sword over two meters long in her grasp.
This Giant Sword was even heavier and more massive than the longsword she wielded before donning the armor.
Her head was completely encased within the helmet, and where her eyes should have been, two points of ghostly violet fire flickered.
Her mere presence exuded an aura that was ancient and noble, yet tinged with a sinister charm.
With just a slight swing of the Giant Sword in her hand...
...a powerful gust of wind blasted forth.
"HMMMM~"
Fei Lin’s magnetic voice, penetrating the armor, reached Han Ning’s ears. It had become heavy and somewhat robotic.
She walked slowly until she was three paces from Han Ning and gave a slight bow, as if performing a knightly salute from an unknown civilization.
’Now *this* is what a Dark Mirror Knight should look like...’
Han Ning sized up Fei Lin’s new form and nodded in satisfaction. He then pointed outside at Egg Pancake, who was watching them with its rear end hiked in the air. With a laugh, he said, "Attack Egg Pancake with your full Power. Let me see your new abilities. Oh, right, and don’t use the Armor’s ability to forcibly raise your Level."
At the same time, he sent a message to Egg Pancake using his Spiritual Power, telling it to be careful and hold back.
"Eee ee~"
Fei Lin gave a slight nod and lowered herself into a crouch.
CRACK~
The next instant, a sound like a shattering mirror echoed from her position.
A flash of dark light enveloped Fei Lin, and she disappeared.
In the spot where she had just stood, cracks bizarrely spread through the empty air.
At almost the same time, Egg Pancake, who was sitting dozens of meters away, seemed to sense something. A slight ripple appeared in its massive Dragon Eyes as it raised a draconic claw and thrust it into the empty space before it.
Its sharp claws easily pierced Fei Lin’s Body, but it was like stabbing the reflection of the moon on water.
Fei Lin’s body rippled but was completely unharmed, as if she and Egg Pancake existed in different dimensions.
Her figure vanished and reappeared at Egg Pancake’s relatively vulnerable abdomen. Raising the Giant Sword, she brought it down hard on the dragon’s belly.
Egg Pancake showed no intention of dodging, instead watching with great interest as the blade slammed into its belly.
With unstoppable momentum, the Giant Sword, gleaming with a dark light, easily sliced through the Dragon Scales on Egg Pancake’s body, leaving a long, thin gash on its abdomen.
However, when the Dark Energy on the Giant Sword’s surface tried to penetrate deeper into the dragon’s body, it was immediately annihilated by a surge of Dragon Power.
A scalding torrent of heat erupted from Egg Pancake’s wound, causing Fei Lin’s illusory form to ripple violently before it began to solidify.
’Incredible... The Biological Armor has 100% armor penetration against Egg Pancake’s scales...’
Han Ning was filled with emotion as he watched Fei Lin, not far away, relentlessly attacking Egg Pancake like a woman possessed.
Fei Lin’s movements were so fast that even the Extraordinary Level Egg Pancake sometimes couldn’t react in time. Combined with the 100% Armor-Piercing Giant Sword in her hand, it didn’t take long for her to leave a dense web of fine cuts all over Egg Pancake’s body.
However, compared to Egg Pancake’s massive, forty-plus-meter frame, Fei Lin, at just over two meters tall, was still insignificant.
