World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability
Chapter 42: Two more levels...
Thyra quickly masked her expression, careful not to let Leon notice.
"Oh, alright. Since you decided to learn it, it must be good."
Leon nodded, then stood up. "I was thinking of bringing this thing back, but it’ll be too heavy to drag over."
He appeared to be in a dilemma, then he glanced at the Shadow Demon.
"Unless someone decides to help me put it in their storage ring. Right?"
Thyra shook her head with a smile. "I can’t help you on this, Leon. I already threaded a thin line by helping you carry your weapon when you were injured days ago."
"Ugh, fine."
Pursing his lips, he grabbed his sword and was about to hack off the upper body of the gorilla when a rustling sound reached his ears.
Something dark lunged at him from the forest, and he swung his unsheathed blade at it.
Bang!
The hit connected cleanly, and the beast was knocked to the ground. Leon finally saw it and realized it was a large black cat with bright yellow eyes.
It’s speed was very fast, and the black fur was a good camouflage for it, but its defense was very poor.
A single smack from the flat of Leon’s blade had already crushed its ribs and spine, rendering it unable to move.
"Oh, a good catch." Leon said as he walked over to it.
The mutated cat was still breathing and trying to get up to attack him, but it could barely move its arms.
"Now, now, stay silent."
Taking one of the knives from his belt, he stabbed into the back of its head, piercing the brain and killing it instantly.
[You have slain a Level 16 Mutated Night Cat!]
Leon ignored the message and picked up the body, slinging it over his shoulder. It made him look like a hunter who was just returning from a hunt.
The only difference was that he didn’t have a gun. But instead, he had a greatsword.
"Hm~? I thought you humans had some sentiment for cats and dogs. They used to he your pets, right?"
Leon shrugged as he began walking back. "Sure, I do. But this thing is no longer a normal, harmless cat. It’s mutated, and it tried to kill me. So I felt no pity when I killed it."
"Ah? That makes sense." She smiled and followed him.
The two of them returned to the field house safely, and several eyes immediately turned over. Though, Thyra remained unseen.
"Eh? Leon... you brought... that?"
Gwen walked up to him and looked at the large corpses of the cat.
"Hm, I’ll ask the chefs to prepare it for me." He answered, already dragging it towards the kitchen.
"Eh! Wait." Gwen immediately rushed to catch up, then said. "But uh... don’t you think it could be poisonous?"
Leon paused, held the dead cat by its thick tail, then shook his head.
"It’s not poisonous."
Without saying anything else, he walked into the kitchen area.
Reymond, Selene, and Samson walked up to Gwen, who didn’t follow him.
"What was his comment about it?" Samson asked.
"He wants to eat it. Apparently, he says it isn’t poisonous." She answered with a bitter smile.
Selene looked at her as if to say: ’See? Didn’t I tell you?’
But she didn’t say anything. Instead, she turned around and went into her room.
Reymond and Samson glanced at each other, shrugged, then walked away too.
After dropping off the cat at the kitchen and giving them specific instructions, Leon returned to his room and sat at his chair.
"Status."

His traits had now increased, and he was glad he didn’t need mana to make them work.
’Now, I have two more steps to take and reach Level 25.’
He closed his eyes and covered his face with his hands.
His throat moved, and a muffler voice escaped from him.
"Clara... "
He remained in that position for a few minutes, then went to lay on the folded carpets rugs. Although it wasn’t as comfortable as sleeping on a bed, it was something he could live it.
In fact, he had gotten used to it. Soon, he fell asleep and began to snore softly.
Thyra took her place at the chair and watched him sleep till morning.
When sunlight spilled in through the windows, he squinted and raised himself from the makeshift bed.
"Good morning, Little Leon~"
Thyra’s beautiful voice trickled into his ears, causing his heart to ease slightly.
He turned to her with a smile. "Good morning."
Although he had seen her many times, he was once again stunned by her beauty.
Her lustrous black hair that partially covered her eyes glittered faintly like it had myriad of tiny stars on it. Her face was shaped as the epitome of beauty, coupled with her perfect body that would satisfy any man regardless of their preference.
He admired the exclusive view for a while, then yawned.
"Ugh. I think I ran out of toothpaste yesterday."
His brows furrowed, and he stood up to confirm.
Checking through the drawers, he was glad to find an extra smaller one.
"Again, Thyra. Do not peek." He said seriously, then stripped to his underwear and went into the bathroom attached to the room.
Thyra remained silent until she heard the shower being turned on, then she walked to the door and knocked.
"I haven’t bathed in years, Leon. Do you mind if I join you~?"
She asked teasingly, pressing her ears against the door.
Naturally, she could see through the walls if she wished to, but she decided against that.
"Damned Demon, just let me bathe in peace. Please, okay?"
Leon’s voice sounded tired, as if he couldn’t bother raising his voice anymore.
"Fine, fine. Since you want this Big Sister to remain stinky, I’ll step back." She clicked her tongue and turned around.
Inside, Leon sighed in exasperation. "As if you really stink."
He had to say, living with this woman was already as draining as fighting that mutated gorilla.
