Xyrin Empire
Chapter 1551: Leap Into the Light
Ivanova’s Glory Starship was a huge surprise for us. Although its power indeed has weaknesses (with a duration of only a few days), it can exert its full strength in the current battlefield, which is a battle that will decide life and death in a few hours. Ivanova’s strength is enough to hold until the moment of victory or defeat.
My only regret now is that the Divine Race cannot receive Ivanova’s blessing: Xyrin’s Shield Technology and the Divine Race’s defensive technology differ too much and can be said to be completely incompatible. On the battlefield, only Xyrin Battleship can receive Shield Enhancement.
But this is already enough to allow us to stand invincible within a certain range!
"All units, unleash full firepower! Spare no energy, hold back no strength!"
The joint commands from Sandora and me spread throughout the entire fleet, and the Abyss Xyrin also announced that the time for the final showdown has arrived. At this moment, whether it was Xyrin Battleships or Abyss Battleships, they pushed their Power Cores to the limit. The artillery fire sweeping through outer space couldn’t be simply described as a storm; it was outright bombarding with a pouring gesture on the Joint Shields of both sides in battle. The distance between the two armies had come so close that most Main Cannons didn’t even need to use Super Space-Time Devices to project full-scale firepower onto the enemy, bringing an even more frenzied and bloody scene to the battlefield—a sea of fire created by the intertwined blue and red Ghost Energy beams in outer space. It was impossible to find an inch of safe ground between the United Army and the New Army, as massive Starships were torn apart, and numerous Assault Ships and Single Soldier Fighter Jets launched their final charge with a determination to die!
Yes, the final charge. Despite having advanced Resurrection Technology and a vast number of Leader Bees in formation, soldiers here would still die in droves. They might not have time to be resurrected or be directly blasted into oblivion by overwhelming energy; even those mighty gods here would fall like ordinary soldiers and never rise again. For many soldiers here, this might be their last charge as warriors; however... no one cares!
"Z-5 Stealth Bombing Squadron has completed bombing, with a loss rate of sixty percent, currently undergoing repairs at the carrier factory, will re-engage in fifteen minutes!"
"Z-7 Stealth Bombing Squadron was detected by radar, all members self-detonated, Z-8 Stealth Bombing Squadron has entered sequence, will engage in five minutes!"
"Joint Shield has sustained damage, Fortress Ships, use your shields to cover! Watch out for enemy bombing units, activate all anti-air firepower!"
"This is the Abyss Independent Group, the first, second, and third Assault Ship squads have returned, with a survival rate of thirty-six percent, undergoing repairs, will join the fourth Assault Force in thirty minutes!"
All command channels are running at full power, and the flames and flashes permeating outer space, together with these commands and reports, weave a hellish tapestry. On this battlefield that has reached boiling point, the Commanders on the officer platform remain the calmest. Sandora sits in her seat, calmly watching the central holographic projection in the command hall, her deep sea-like blue eyes reflecting scattered flashes. She speaks rarely at this moment, only opening her mouth in case of major situations, but most of the time...
Golden lines emerge from behind her and spread into the surrounding space. The power of the Soul Taker is providing additional data exchange for the entire United Forces, while also doing its best to disrupt the enemy’s thoughts. Whenever inexplicable infighting or self-destructive phenomena occur within the enemy fleet, it means that another group of enemies has been exploited mentally by Sandora, leading to numerous deaths.
Sandora has personally joined the battle, and with her in battle is the Raven King.
Bellavilla has awoken from the previous forced slumber and is now in a special chamber at the top of the Imperial Admiral’s Arm, a chamber prepared solely for her, amplifying the power of this Raven King. Countless arcane or Ghost Energy Storms emerge from the space around the Imperial Admiral, these giant energy balls charge towards the battlefield in swarms, becoming stronger after each attack. They explode on the enemy’s Joint Shield, with the largest energy balls able to "shock kill" the enemy’s Mother Ships through the shield, surpassing the power of the Galaxy Main Gun—this is the power of the Raven King, even though it’s only a third of her peak strength.
Bellavilla still cannot exert all her power; otherwise, she would be forced into slumber after just a few minutes of battle. But even so, the naturally strong offensive capability of the Raven allows her to exert the combat power of a Mother Ship squad by herself, completely abandoning offense, entrusting defense to the Imperial Admiral’s Shield, redirecting all saved energy into her Storm Balls.
Even Father God and Huron God King are personally fighting—the ancient Main Gods occupying the pinnacle of all living and non-living beings are using their unstoppable force to attack the enemy’s Legion Cannon Array, aiming to eliminate those space cannons posing a deadly threat to ordinary Divine Race. They are so powerful that they alone can take on one side of the battlefront: Xyrin System fleet attacking the front, Divine Race army attacking the flanks, and the two Main Gods wrapping up the other side, and it seems... they are managing it with ease.
The offensive of the United Army is indeed powerful, but even so, the New Army’s defense remains unwavering. The unsettling white pillar of light continues to expand leisurely, the Storm Balls within the pillar remain unscathed, in fact, they appear even more active than before: while the New Army couldn’t find enough worlds as sacrifices, they can still charge the Startup Terminal using conventional methods. This thing is almost fully activated now.
Void Creatures are undoubtedly strong, but even Xingchen cannot easily destroy this line of defense. He can obliterate entire worlds with just a glance or thought, but many things created by Xyrin Apostle are more "resilient" than worlds. The entire Startup Terminal is protected by a complex and self-sustaining Energy Storm, which is not a simple Joint Shield nor single devices like a Damage Definition System, but... pure information fluctuation, endless Ghost Energy reaction!
The New Army charges the Startup Terminal through world annihilation, generating a massive amount of discrete energy in the process. This energy is too strong, and its "frequency" does not meet the needs of the Startup Terminal, so the New Army allows them to permeate the surrounding space, forming a self-circulating Energy Storm. Taville has analyzed the operation mode of this Energy Storm, and we were shocked to find that it closely resembles the core of a Ghost Energy Reactor, meaning... before us stands a Ghost Energy Reactor spanning the entire universe!
It’s providing the New Army with an endless supply of energy, though the sensitive Startup Terminal cannot utilize them, the "rough" Shield Broadcast Tower and Legion Cannon do not care, thus the New Army is even more unscrupulous in squandering energy than the United Forces, even blocking Void Creatures.
Of course, I believe they cannot block it forever; the absolute power of Xingchen and Hila still surpasses any shield of the New Army and would eventually deplete that Energy Storm through slow attrition, but how long would this take?
It could take several hours, perhaps days, possibly before the New Army’s "grand endeavor is accomplished."
Time, time!!!
I turn to look at Lin Xue and Xiao Xue, mother and daughter, who have now disengaged from the "link" state, resting and rubbing their temples while providing Sandora with some suggestions. Now that the final battle has broken out, and both sides have basically revealed their trump cards, several Emperors of the Imperial Army have appeared, the secrets of New Army’s defenses laid bare before us, what remains for both sides is a face-to-face fight to the death, thus the Prophet can take a little rest. I look at Lin Xue, seeking "permission to strike," but she slightly shakes her head.
That’s right, so many people have already personally joined the battle, even Sister and Qianqian are leading the direct line fleet in outer space to help solve the enemy’s assault forces, yet I am the only one not allowed to take the field—Lin Xue won’t allow it.
"It’s not yet time for you to take the field, the final moment hasn’t arrived," Lin Xue’s voice echoes in my mind, with a hint of fatigue, though she sounds unhurried, "Ah Jun, don’t be frightened by what’s happening before you. I can see everything is still under control... your time will come. Trust me."
Lin Xue’s words have never faltered, so I can only trust her judgment now. But when will this final moment she speaks of come?
"The Seventh Fleet has reached the battlefield!"
The sudden announcement over the communication link invigorated everyone: The subsequent armies have finally broken through the blockade and hit the Peace Core!
Orelia and Audemus’s figures appear on the communicator, behind them is the radiant glory of the Crystalline Chambers, the Other Space command cabin of the Radiant Ring. The flagship of the Seventh Fleet is specially crafted as a Radiant Ring. It seems they’ve just experienced a fierce battle, as various Energy Arrays inside the crystalline chambers are still cooling down, yet they’ve mostly prepared for the next battle. The two generals give us a courteous salute: "Your Majesty, the Seventh Fleet reporting in. We were intercepted on the way and have arrived late."
"No, the timing is perfect," Sandora responds solemnly, then orders the Seventh Fleet to immediately fill in the weaker areas of the United Forces.
Reinforcements brought us more formidable firepower, and the Radiant Ring can effectively counter the enemy’s Legion Cannon and Shield Broadcast Tower, such smaller targets, but... it’s still not enough!
Pandora and Visca are setting up the Imperial Army’s Legion Cannon positions in space; these are their last stock. Accompanied by ripples from Space Shock, kilometer-long massive cannons emerge in space and swiftly move around the Imperial Admiral. This is the most heavily guarded area of the entire fleet because Legion Cannons’ shield level is insufficient to receive a boost from Ivanova’s power. Their shields remain standard, making them vulnerable on the battlefield, hence they must be placed in more secure areas.
"Fourth Fleet has reached the battlefield!" "Ivanov’s Army has reached the battlefield!" "Third Fleet has reached the battlefield!"
The battle continues, with more and more United Army members breaking through the New Army’s blockade, gathering fleets in the Peace Core to an unprecedented scale of chaos I’ve never experienced—or even imagined!
Everyone has only one goal, which is to destroy the New Army’s defense line and terminate the startup terminal about to activate. All firepower is focused on this point, and such immense energy convergence finally causes world structure changes.
Centered around the white light beam of the startup terminal, space spanning hundreds of light years begins to collapse, as peculiar rift-like patches filled with distorted streams appear in space. Various mysterious buildings and Abyss facilities with black and red decorations appear out of thin air, only to slowly crumble and vanish, popping up fortresses, popping up Ghost Energy Storm Obelisks, popping up mysterious starports... all lifeless, as if strange things from nightmares invaded reality.
"That’s the Shadow Space of the New Army," Abyss Xyrin identifies the root of these bizarre phenomena. "Energy has congregated to a degree that damaged the world’s foundation, causing the weight of the Outer World to fall. Shadow Space is supplanting the Outer World... which is why these things emerged."
"Is there going to be a problem?" I frown.
"These Shadow Spaces are already useless, as all New Army troops have surged out, leaving Shadow Space as an empty shell... And being forcibly pulled into the Outer World under world imbalance, most Shadow Space facilities will self-destruct."
I say nothing more, only slightly anxious as I gaze at the white light beam in space.
It’s still growing... although slow, yet non-stop, and instinct tells me this thing is likely reaching its last awakening moment... something is powering it, probably the New Army’s final energy facilities.
I watch the fleet and Divine Soldiers fiercely battling in space, observe the flying shots and the glimmer of Divine Techniques. These things are immensely powerful, but clearly unable to stop the rampaging startup terminal... there must be something of greater power, something of more destructive level, to deliver the final blow to it.
I shake my head and put these thoughts aside for now. The most important focus is to get past the outer defense line.
With more United Forces breaching through heavy blockades into the Peace Core, the New Army’s defending troops finally have thoroughly fallen into disadvantage. Despite their boundless energy and a formidable Ghost Energy Storm Wall as their backbone, faced against our overwhelming firepower, the enemy’s forces are still shattering in clusters into fireworks over space.
Currently, we’ve actually also suffered significant losses—mid and large warships under Planet Shield effect are not invincible. They can still be destroyed under concentrated bombardment. The damage definition system indeed proves strong, but those spacecraft’s shield capacity hasn’t increased. Their protective capability cannot match that of true Planet Battleships; under the enemy’s frenzied counterattack, even the Royal Fleet has suffered near one-third casualties.
Yet despite paying such a huge price, we’re still advancing toward victory. The enemy’s losses far outweigh those of the United Army, and we still have an endless stream of reinforcements arriving at the battlefield, while the New Army’s reserves have already dried up. Other Abyss Zone areas still have scattered New Army fleets, but they’re largely besieged by the United Army across different zones, utterly incapable of aiding the Peace Core.
Victory... is it ours?
When the enemy’s joint shield suddenly went out and the defense line was about to collapse, I suddenly had a bad premonition, and then I saw the white pillar of light that traversed the entire universe... beginning to contract violently!
In an instant, that peculiar spacetime state of the white pillar of light seemed to vanish, and the surveillance posts at the edge of the universe confirmed that this white light could no longer be seen from a distance, while our frontline units, close at hand, confirmed that the light pillar was rapidly contracting into that ball of storm, the surrounding space violently shaking, countless fractures leading to Shadow Space appeared quickly and disappeared in a flash. The colorful light curtains in space, like auroras, seemed attracted by something, starting to move toward the "Startup Terminal," not just the light curtains around us, but the entire universe! The entire universe’s colorful light curtains were being drawn together!
Simultaneously, the white light ball at the center of the battlefield expanded rapidly, quickly growing to the size of the sun, then stopped at that state and began to absorb all surrounding energy madly!
The Ghost Energy Storm, which the Startup Terminal could not utilize, and the discarded ghost energy that drifted on the battlefield were all rushing toward that white nova at this moment, evidence indicating...
"It’s activated," the figure of Abyss Xyrin slowly dimmed, "we lost."
The remnants of the New Army on the battlefield crazily surged into that white light. Watching these seemingly scattered troops, I suddenly thought of one thing: Since the beginning of the battle, the Emperor-level apostles and Glory Starships of the enemy seemed to have never shown up?
Emperor-level apostles and Glory Starships... the cornerstone of the rapid recovery of various Xyrin facilities, all of them conserving strength, hiding existence until now, for...
The last New Army warship also leaped into the white light, among which must be mixed with top apostles possessing Glory Starships, they will rebuild everything in the Void Long Bridge, everything spent on today’s battle can be quickly restored.
They nearly suffered a total wipeout, but did they still win...?
The Imperial Army immediately launched attacks on that white nova, but to no avail, the latter had been sealed up, even the Ghost Energy from omni-dimensional attacks could not harm it at all!
The sudden change in the situation seemed to have bewildered many people, people momentarily not knowing how to react, even Lian Shandora’s eyes couldn’t help but show a moment of bewilderment, but at this moment a loud voice suddenly sounded in the brain: "Little brother, what if when the Long Bridge activates, a Void Creature suddenly gets stuck in it... how big would the explosion be?"
Along with this voice, that dazzling white "sun" seemed suddenly attacked by something, violently trembling, its surface suddenly covered with black cracks!
The nova had already been sealed off, and the artillery fire of the Imperial Army couldn’t harm its body at all. Like Abyss Xyrin said, the New Army can close its entrances in the Long Bridge internal, but perhaps the Startup Terminal hadn’t fully activated, its sealing... had flaws!
In an instant, I figured out what was going on: Hila and Xingchen were inside the Startup Terminal, they have it "stuck"!
I immediately shared the words I heard in my mind with everyone, then anxiously watched the white light full of cracks, but it seemed to have withstood this attack, its surface wounds no longer spreading.
Hila’s voice came again: "Damn... seems it was just a bit off..."
I finally understood when I should act.
Seeing me stand up, my sister was the first to rush over: "It’s too dangerous!"
"It’s okay, neither Xingchen nor Hila is hurt," I said as I gradually transitioned into Void Form, pointing at the white nova not far away, "That thing must be blown up, conventional weapons are useless against it now, only the power of the Void Creatures can penetrate it."
My stance was resolute, the cracks on the white sun’s surface seemed to be healing slowly, the situation tolerated no hesitation. My sister and Qianqian could only nod, but just as I was about to set off, Sandora suddenly stood out: "Wait, I’m going with you."
"You?" I looked at Sandora in surprise, "How are you going to get close to that thing? You don’t have Void Power."
"It’s simple, you can take me in with your Void Domain, you are quite adept at ’delivering goods’ with your domain, aren’t you?" Sandora looked at me firmly, her blue eyes sparkling with unwavering determination, "What if your power goes in but still falls short? You just need to take me in, and then I’ll self-destruct and be reborn in Glory Form, the moment Yurasis Imperial Power activates, it will release enough energy, you can use me as a bomb, plus my power is special, I won’t die."
Sandora’s idea was not on a whim, she had planned the entire process thoroughly without leaving any room for counterargument, so I could only nod, but then Qianqian and Little Crow suddenly jumped out as well. This time I couldn’t nod at all.
"Everyone go back, everyone go back!" I waved everyone away, "Sandora has rebirth ability, you don’t. Everyone takes their fleet and leaves, preferably far away from this world, I’m afraid the Startup Terminal explosion might destroy the entire universe, evacuate as far as you can... wait, leave the Imperial Admiral ship."
My sister was about to order a full retreat when she suddenly hesitated: "Leave the Imperial Admiral ship?"
I nodded: "By the way, bring over all the ghost energy crystals and heavy warheads from other spaceships."
Sandora’s words reminded me: If even Hila and Xingchen’s powers aren’t enough, what if my power isn’t enough? What if Sandora’s power isn’t enough either?
So we need greater yield, a bigger explosion!
We can’t hold back any power, we must throw everything at that damn white planet!
The Imperial Admiral boasts the largest power core and storage space in the current battlefield, its attack power might not be the highest, but its self-destruction power... is definitely the strongest.
With the aid of the Space Transmission Device, everything was soon completed... well, not entirely, the Imperial Admiral still had several Gnakus that weren’t filled, but time was short: the white sun was slowly healing, we had to act immediately.
However, I believe our current preparations are sufficient: all personnel on the Imperial Admiral have been evacuated, even many detachable modular factory structures have been transmitted out, the remaining space is packed with the most powerful warheads and high-purity ghost energy crystals, along with various disposable math rate devices (which are unassembled X-4 warhead components), this will be the largest-scale, most diversely destructive "bomb" ever made by the Empire, Pandora expressed deep regret at not being able to witness its explosion.
The Alliance Army evacuated quickly, eventually, the battle once raging to a boil was completely quiet, all the armies had left.
In the vast outer space, only a dazzling white sun and a Cross Starship opposite it remained, this scene was just like the world’s name: Peace Core.
The Imperial Admiral ushered in its first moment of complete silence, this flagship, always bustling since its construction, was quiet at this moment, in the empty Space Fortress, only Sandora and I were there.
Most of the surrounding equipment had been shut down, only the onboard mainframe and its affiliated core system were still operating, and only after everyone was evacuated did the buzzing of this equipment come through so clearly.
Sandora set up the starship’s self-destruct program, while I slowly enveloped the ship with my power, all the holographic projections in the command hall now displaying only one target, which was the white planet at the core of the battlefield.
Void Domain enveloped the starship, then slowly accelerated.
"Onboard mainframe, ready?"
"Mainframe standing by, self-destruction program will execute after the impact."
"You’re going to self-destruct, old friend."
"It’s the mission."
"...Protect your database, Sandora and I will try our best to let you survive, and when the time comes, we’ll get you a new body."
"Mainframe anticipates that."
"Then..."
