Yandere Monster Evolution: My Blind Wife Will Become a Demonic Queen
Chapter 34: Fear
<Viora’s POV>
Chirp!
Chirp!
Chirp!
The sparrows sitting on a tree outside the window were doing their routine waking song.
One of them flew into the hospital room and then without stopping, it flew back out. It was as if it felt something ominous in the room.
Its instincts must have told it to back off, and they weren’t wrong. The room was really giving a bit of bad feeling.
Even the few people crossing the room felt shivers. But when they got a bit further, that shiver went away.
All of this was happening because of just one blind girl. She was lying on the bed in the room.
She... wasn’t awake. On the contrary, she was in deep sleep. The only thing was that a bead of sweat was forming on her forehead and her face was twisting into different kind of expressions.
At first, her mouth was wide open and when it closed, her brows furrowed. After her brows went normal, her hand shot out in the air and a few words left her mouth.
"...Wait... pwease..."
Her fingers twitched as if it were trying to grab someone and stop them. But then it suddenly closed into a fist.
As of now, Viora was dreaming about the thing she feared the most. She was trying to stop everyone who was leaving her one by one.
In her dream, there were two figures. One was a man and the other was a woman. They seemed to be in their late thirties.
At first they were looking at her with longing and then suddenly they turned and began to walk away from Viora.
"No. No. No. Don’t go there!"
Viora shouted and ran after them but before she could reach them, both of their upper bodies were devoured by a big mouth which looked like a dragon.
"No..." Viora dropped to her knees. Her lips were slightly apart and her eyes were wide.
"Mom..."
Her pupils dilated and two drops of tears fell from her eyes.
"D... Dad..."
Her parents were eaten alive by a monster right in front of her. The pain this scene gave her was immeasurable compared to anything she had ever gone through.
In front of it, the happiness, the joy, the anger, and the love felt like they were nothing. The only thing that remained now was fear, fear of losing the only family she had.
But that fear didn’t last much longer when the scene in front of her began to change again.
Now, grass was the only thing around her. But the grass wasn’t green. It was stained with crimson color.
That was blood. Viora had several deep wounds on her body in which the blood was flowing and gushing out and falling on the grass leaves.
"You see," standing in front of her was a black-haired girl. Her hand was held out and she was holding Viora up by her hair.
"I once liked you more than myself." The black-haired girl also had a few injuries, but only one of them stood out the most. The deep wound of claws on her neck.
The four cuts were so deep that blood was practically gushing out and had drenched her whole arm.
"...Jane..."
She was Jane. Just someone Viora thought she was close to. But it turned out the exact opposite. Now she was holding Viora while she was probably breathing her final moments.
"Yeah, it is me. Jane." Jane brought Viora’s face closer to hers and told her to take a good look at her. "See, this is how your friend and your enemy looks like. Now remember it when you go to the afterlife."
However, Viora’s eyes were filled with her own blood so her pupils couldn’t even catch a little bit of light. She was practically blind.
"...Why..." Viora asked but Jane didn’t answer her.
There was silence for a moment then Jane pulled her hand and stabbed it inside Viora’s stomach.
"No reason," Jane said and pulled her hand out of her.
"Guh!" blood flew out of Viora’s mouth and her eyes blinked three times before they finally closed off.
Her hands that were clutching Jane’s arm fell limp on her sides and her breathing had also stopped.
Viora thought she was free now. She didn’t have to think about anything anymore. Yet, she found herself in another scene again but this time she saw a guy who held a spoon full of rice hovering in front of her mouth.
"Say ahhh," the guy said and helped Viora eat.
It was just simple rice without anything else and still it felt and tasted more better than anything she ever had.
Then, after helping her eat the meal, the guy began to tell her about the sun, how it looked and how it felt on skin and eyes.
She attentively listened to the guy. She didn’t want to hear about the sun or anything else. All she wanted was someone talking to her.
That was all that mattered but fate still didn’t show her any mercy. It also stole that one guy who was the only person talking to her just like everyone else.
’Woo Jin,’
That guy also left her into a black void where no one was around. No scenery, sound, or even cold air.
"Wu...!"
The fear of losing him was too much that it made her wake up from her dream into reality.
When she opened her eyes the void she had in her dream persisted even in reality. It was refusing to leave her alone.
Huff! Huff! Huff!
She was breathing heavily and subconsciously she grabbed the bed sheet and wiped the sweat off her forehead with it.
’He also left me.’
’Even though he said he will come back. He still isn’t here.’
The thoughts of Woo Jin coming back were like a miracle which she believed would never come true. He was just another liar.
Just like everyone he won’t be coming back and that was what she was most afraid of. She could endure everything but not the feeling of being left alone.
"...Liar." she let out subconsciously.
"Who are you calling liar?"
Instinctively, Viora turned her head toward the direction of the voice.
’This voice...?’
"...Dum?"
