Zombie Bodyguard
Chapter 1782 - 1779: Reconciliation
The Soul-devouring Blade, after absorbing the Eye of the Creator, became quiet instead, with black energy retreating into the blade. The red and black patterns on the blade and the ghost claw grew more mysterious and unpredictable.
The most envious, jealous, and resentful was naturally Yasuo. In this action, Charlotte got the meat, while he only got a sip of soup, no, not even broth, just scraps.
"Lin Tian, remember our agreement. Until next time." Xu Feibai was straightforward. Once the matter was settled, he didn’t want to stay, exchanged a brief farewell with Lin Tian, and left.
Yasuo and the masked man followed humbly behind. Watching the masked man’s departing back, Lin Tian frowned once again.
"Lin Tian, what’s wrong?" Xiao Manxue asked curiously upon seeing Lin Tian distracted.
"Oh, it’s nothing. Let’s leave too; the matter is satisfactorily resolved." Lin Tian shook his head, not explaining further.
"Master, how do we deal with Li Wenfeng?" Charlotte glanced at Li Wenfeng, who was fainting in the distance, and asked.
Lin Tian turned to look at Xiao Manxue and said faintly, "Forget it, let nature take its course."
After all, Li Wenfeng was a relative of Xiao Manxue by blood. Killing him in front of her might put her in a difficult position. Although the Xiao family’s mother and daughter no longer recognize the Li family as relatives, blood ties are inseparable.
Moreover, Lin Tian didn’t want Xiao Manxue to endure the gossip and be labeled as someone who killed her kin.
Of course, though Lin Tian said let nature take its course, Li Wenfeng surely carried a locator system. The helicopter he brought could come to rescue him; he might have already sent a distress signal.
Lin Tian and the others left the cave. Outside, the sunshine was still bright. More peculiarly, the mist surrounding the island had dispersed, revealing an unobstructed sea view.
In the distance, two yachts were departing, one presumably belonging to Xu Feibai and the other ninja. A helicopter hovered over the island, searching for a landing spot.
"That’s Li Wenfeng’s helicopter. He won’t die." Lin Tian said calmly.
The three retraced the original path, boarded the lifeboat by the beach, headed to the yacht, navigated through the reefs, and finally returned to the yacht.
"Master, thank you." After getting aboard, Charlotte took out the Soul-devouring Blade, scrutinizing it with satisfaction and thanked Lin Tian once again.
Lin Tian glanced at Xiao Manxue and laughed, "You should be thanking the young lady instead. If not for her steering the ship, we wouldn’t have found this place."
"No need, it was just a minor effort." Xiao Manxue interrupted before Charlotte could speak. Lin Tian chuckled, shaking his head; the little girl was too shy to communicate with the Princess.
"Miss Xiao, thank you." Charlotte turned to Xiao Manxue, expressing gratitude earnestly.
"I... I’ll go steer the ship." Xiao Manxue hesitated, then turned to the cockpit with a smile, seemingly relieved to let bygones be bygones.
Seeing the young lady’s smile, Lin Tian smiled as well, "That’s great, now that the two goddesses are reconciled, my mission is accomplished." The scenario yet again confirmed that battling side by side fosters camaraderie.
"Master, you seem so gleeful, tirelessly facilitating our reconciliation, what’s your motive? Are you thinking of having both of us together..." Charlotte gave Lin Tian a charming glance; she didn’t finish her sentence, but the meaning was clear from the seductive look in her eyes. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Hmm, that indeed sounds tempting, just the thought is thrilling. Lin Tian mischievously fantasized, his mind already wandering.
Suddenly, a dagger flew out from the cockpit, aimed at Lin Tian’s lower parts. Shocked, he quickly reached out and caught it deftly. Yet, despite this, a chill rose from a certain area, a contrast to his mental imagery—truly a mingling of ice and fire.
"Young Miss, are you trying to kill me?" Lin Tian looked at the dagger’s sharp black blade, with his face full of black lines; the young lady’s move was too ruthless.
"Master, she’s not trying to kill you but your manhood." Charlotte stole a glance at Lin Tian’s lower region, giggling.
Good grief, you two women are so straightforward, Lin Tian felt speechless, deliberately putting on a stern face, "Do you dare believe me threatening to deal with you both on this vast sea?"
"Well then, Master, come on in!" Charlotte too entered the cockpit, throwing Lin Tian a seductive glance and beckoning him with a finger.
Alright, I’ve been teased by a woman again, Lin Tian thought helplessly.
Of course, Lin Tian wasn’t foolish enough to believe Charlotte’s words and step inside; otherwise, he’d surely face a united retaliation from the two women.
Standing outside the cockpit, he peered through the glass, seeing the two goddesses side by side, their mouths moving, seemingly conversing, with Xiao Manxue pointing at the ship’s instruments, apparently explaining.
It turned out Xiao Manxue was teaching Charlotte to steer the ship. The Princess was learning diligently, while the leading lady taught attentively, forming a harmonious scene that made Lin Tian smile knowingly.
Who said life couldn’t have grand goals? Now, with the two coexisting peacefully, a small goal was achieved. With a view of the endless ocean and a vast sky, Lin Tian laughed heartily.
The loud, resonant voice caused the glass to buzz. The two goddesses steering the ship lifted their heads, simultaneously giving him a disparaging look.
Under the guidance of the two goddesses, the yacht smoothly returned to the Coastal Villa, handed over to the dock staff, and the three returned to the villa.
In front of the seaside villa, Lin Tian said to Charlotte, "You head back first; I need to have a word with the young lady."
"Alright, goodbye, Master. Goodbye, Miss Xiao." Charlotte tossed Lin Tian a charming glance, turned gracefully, and left.
"Charlotte is really smart; in this short voyage, she already learned to steer the ship." Xiao Manxue smiled slightly, praising.
"Hehe, seeing you two reconcile makes me genuinely happy." Lin Tian chuckled, truly delighted, initially thinking it would be the biggest hassle, yet it was unexpectedly resolved.
Lin Tian knew this wasn’t just for himself, but also because the two women were sensible, perhaps sharing strong feminine solidarity inherently.
Xiao Manxue coquettishly rolled her eyes at Lin Tian, snorting, "Hmph, now that there’s no one else, care to explain Yasuo’s words?"
Lin Tian scratched his forehead, hesitated momentarily, then replied, "This is a long story, do you still have the ancient zither brought back from Fanyin Temple?"
"What’s it got to do with the ancient zither?" Xiao Manxue looked puzzled, wondering why the zither was brought up; she had seen it before, but apart from its antique look, it seemed unremarkable.
Recollecting for a moment, Lin Tian continued, "At the school’s welcome party last time, Xuanxuan soloed on the ancient zither on stage, unexpectedly triggering the phenomenon of birds gathering!"
"Birds gathering?" Xiao Manxue was very intrigued.
"Not only did the birds gather, but the sound from the zither also put everyone in some strange state, seemingly affecting their minds. These two phenomena have puzzled me to this day." Lin Tian said with a slight frown.
