"What did you say? Can you come again?" Aegon asked, looking at the two men standing opposite the bed.

The nurse that came in with them, feeling a sudden tension in the room, instantly turned around and left the room, closing the door.

"Um... we said we would like you to join our guild." The same man who spoke easier responded.

"Guild? What guild?" Aegon asked, looking at them with a straight face.

However, on the other hand, the two men looked at each other, puzzled.

They didn’t know if he was asking them based on the fact that he didn’t hear when they called the guild’s name or because he didn’t know what a guild was in general.

The other man who was at the left side of Aegon answered after looking at the man at the right of Aegon.

"I know you just became an awakener and haven’t gotten to know everything so I will explain it to you. You see a guild is a-"

"I know what a guild is." Aegon cut the explanation short. "What I am asking isn’t what a guild is, but which guild you are talking about."

Both men looked at each other and laughed for a moment, thinking in their hearts that either this guy is deaf or he’s just insane, playing with them.

"If that’s the case," the man at Aegon’s right spoke out, "I will answer you then."

"The guild that we speak of is the Integrity Guild. The most modest and honorable guild of the five, and are also undefeated!"

"You mean the strongest?" Aegon asks, noticing how the man was glazing the Integrity Guild.

"Oh no, not the strongest. We are not allowed to use that term. It would seem like we are glazing our guild, but yes, something like that."

Aegon looked at the man with a displeased expression while thinking in his heart, ’Well you are already glazing it, so why not just use the term already?’

The man continued, "So, our guild master George Stormborn has invited you to join our guild." The man stretched out his hands to Aegon while his he took two steps forward

In his hands, he is holding a card and seeing this card, Aegon collected it.

"Integrity Guild you say?" Aegon was reading the information on the card and was pleased with how the designs were made.

’Back on earth you rarely see cards that are designed with such passion like this. Most of them are always just plain white and black text. Even the wedding that I attended. Their cards were the same thing.’

Aegon looked up at the men standing before him. He kept the card on the table beside the bed, took a glance at Maureen, then back at the men.

"And where is this guild?" Aegon asked.

"Oh, it’s just a few blocks away from here across the street. It is not far, about thirty minutes by vehicle and an hour and half on foot." The man at his left uttered.

"And that is not far?" Aegon asked, his left brows raised high.

The man chuckled then responded, "Well if you commute to it every day, it wouldn’t seem that far in your eyes."

Aegon didn’t know anything about the integrity guild except they were a guild and including the information these men just dropped, it was all he knew of them.

There was no way he would know that it is the same guild that Nyra and others from her party were from.

This was because they never told him, so he had no idea. All he could think of was why a guild was requesting for him to join them.

In his heart he thought, ’Since I awakened, I have not actually been in the real world enough for people to know who I am. The only time I can think of would be that time in the association building with all those awakeners.’

’But it wasn’t as if everyone had their eyes on me and I didn’t do anything specific that would attract attention to myself. So why am I being scouted?’

At this moment, he was looking at Maureen, while thinking in his heart.

Meanwhile, the two men were standing and waiting for his answer. But Aegon was yet to decide what he should do.

’Should I go with them? It wouldn’t be a bad experience, I might even be able to get one or two things from them. I also heard that awakeners who join a guild are paid more than those doing solo. I am not financially stable so it would be a good exchange, but...’

His attention was fully on Maureen. ’I can’t just leave her alone. I just got her back. I want to be here when she wakes up.’

These were all the things that were swirling through Aegon’s head. He knew that he couldn’t leave but for some reason he had to.

The men were still standing and seeing that he was taking so long to reply to them, one of them spoke up.

"Um... sir. What is your reply? If you can’t decide now would you at least come and take a look for yourself?"

It took Aegon some seconds before he responded. Firstly, he took hold of Maureen’s hand, opened her palm and placed his left palm on hers.

Then he leaned forward and kissed her forehead. ’I will be back, just wait for me. I wouldn’t take long.’ he said in his heart.

Aegon moved back, released his hand from hers, took the card from the table where he had kept it, stood up and turned to the men in black, saying.

"I will come and see this guild of yours, but I make no promises, it doesn’t guarantee that I will join."

"Very well!" Both men agreed, feeling excited that they were able to at least convince him to come with them.

Aegon walked past their middle going to the door, and upon arrival he opened it for the two men to leave first, so they did.

After they had left, he walked out and shut the door, then through the see through glass he looked at Maureen more last time before leaving.
