Chapter 102: Meeting the Integrity Master [2]

Aegon and the two men arrived in a black vehicle in front of a tall multi-story building. The building contains more than thirteen floors, it is twice the size of a normal building.

Inside the vehicle, a black clean car, both men in black were sitting at the front seat. One is in the left seat, that is the driver seat, the other, at the right seat, near the driver seat.

And Aegon, was seated at the back, by the right side of the vehicle

"We have arrived!" the man seated in front of Aegon spoke out.

Aegon looked through the window of the vehicle, his gaze landing on the tall skyscraper.

The building was in the shape of an oval rather than the usual square shape. At the ground or the building next to a water fountain, there was three dimensional signage with the name Integrity Guild.

The color of the letters were written in dark blue, the evening sun casting its light on it making it shimmer.

"Sir? Sir?..." One of the men was calling out to Aegon, but Aegon didn’t listen. Or rather couldn’t hear the man.

He was staring at the beautiful building before him, while thinking in his heart. ’Out of all the buildings I have seen since I woke up, except the association building. This is by far the best. Not sure what the other guild buildings would be like but I can bet this is better, it even looks new.’

Aegon was right about this. The building was indeed new, and because of this was constructed in a more advanced futuristic way.

The reason for the building being new was because George Stormborn, the guild master of the Integrity Guild had broken it the last one down when he was upset about something.

While other guilds were still in their first building they started with, this is the third building for the Integrity Guild because it had been broken down twice.

’Sir, Sir... we are here!" The at the right side of the vehicle was able to stop Aegon bringing him out of his thoughts.

"Oh, right!" Aegon replied.

At this moment, the man who was driving the vehicle had already come out, and the man at the right had his door opened with one foot outside on the group.

The only reason he stayed behind was to inform Aegon of their arrival.

Aegon opened the door at his side and stepped out of the vehicle. He was still wearing his face cap, although the sun was already setting and the heat had reduced.

However, this didn’t bother him since he wanted to leave the cap on.

As he stepped out of the, both men came to his side, "This way." One of them said pointing and then leading the way.

Aegon placed his hands inside the pocket of his leather jacket while he walked into the building.

There was a revolving door at the entrance of the building with three glass wings attached to a central shaft rotating inside a cylindrical enclosure.

One of the men in black went inside first, followed by Aegon who was standing in the middle of them, and lastly the second man in black.

While Aegon entered, moved through the glass wings of the door and came out he heard the words spoken.

"Welcome to the Integrity Guild."

The entrance of the Guild is a massive open hall that makes even the tallest smell feel small.

The floor was a single sheet of polished white stone, so smooth it looked like a frozen lake reflecting the bright lights from above for across.

Far across the expanse of the lobby sat a long, heavy desk carved from dark stone.

Staff moving behind it with quiet focus, their voice lost in the sheer scale of the room.

There was so much empty space between the doors and the counter that the air felt still as if the room was holding its breath.

Stepping in the center of the lobby, Aegon couldn’t help but look up, and the view was enough to cause him a moment of vertigo.

The skyscraper was split into two distinct halves leaving a giants hollow oval shaped that ran straight up through the heart of the building

Level after level of offices and balconies stacked towards the sky, connected by thin glass walkways that looked like threads of silk from the ground.

Because the center was completely empty, the ceiling seemed to disappear into a blur of height.

Sunlight poured down from a massive window at the very top, flooding the gap and lighting up the interior like a canyon made of steel and glass.

’Oh wow, so this is what money can get you if you have it.’ Aegon thought inwardly.

Back on earth, he had seen a lot of luxury hotels, banks, and even exquisite restaurants with massive building structures, but couldn’t comprehend this.

"This way please." The man at the front of Aegon spoke..

At the center of the building, where the ceiling stretched up to an endless point there were people sitting and talking around. There were a lot of people but couldn’t be called a crowd that could fill up this entire space.

Aegon followed behind the man at the front where they went to where the elevator was. Inside it was only the three of them, Aegon at the back while the two men were at his front.

While the elevator was going up, he looked at the floor controls and saw that they were moving to the height floor, then one thought came to his mind.

’Are we going somewhere important?’ He thought of this but since he couldn’t get an answer from himself, he decided on the men.

"Excuse me. Are we going somewhere else?"

The man at the left side of Aegon turned, looked at Aegon, then back at the elevator’s door.

He didn’t say anything.

Aegon was baffled by this. It was as though they didn’t hear him ask a question. But they did, and decided not to answer.

He was perplexed, but before he could utter another question, the man at his right turned and answered his question. "You would be meeting the guild master."

’Guild master? So soon?’ Aegon thought inwardly, ’I thought there’s a much bigger process before meeting the guild master, did they skip a part?’

How could they? There was no way they would have skipped a part. Aegon was an invited guest by George himself, so it was customary that he’s sent to meet his inviter.

But of course there was no way that Aegon would know of this. To him all this didn’t feel real.

He was just a recent awakener but had somehow caught the attention of a mighty guild and guild master, who he had never met before.

After the man had spoken and faced his front, the elevator stopped and the doors slid open revealing a pathway they stretched down to a tall door.

Aegon and the two men reached the massive door. Upon reaching, he looked at the design and how it was constructed.

The entrance was dominated by a pair of massive double doors, crafted from rich, dark wood that featured a striking geometric pattern.

Deep horizontal and diagonal grooves cut across the surface, creating a series of interlocking diamond shapes that gave the heavy wood a modern, textured look.

Two long, slender golden handles ran vertically down the center, glowing faintly under the warm spotlights embedded in the ceiling above.

The doors were framed by thick black borders and tall glass side panels, making the entire entryway look like a solid, impenetrable barrier that belonged to a place of great wealth.

The ground leading up to the entrance was paved with large, smooth grey tiles that shimmered with a dull metallic sheen.

On either side of the doors stood tall, rectangular black pillars that acted as modern lanterns, casting a soft, white light through decorative cutouts.

These glowing pillars matched the clean, sharp lines of the architecture, highlighting the contrast between the warm wood of the doors and the cold, slate-colored floor.

The entire setup felt deliberate and high-end, as if the doors weren’t just meant to let people in, but to impress anyone who stood before them.

"This is the office of the guild master please go in." One of the men said.

The man who spoke knocked on the door but there was no response. So he noticed again, yet, there was still no answer.

"I am coming in, George." The man uttered and pushed with his two hands bothering the wing of the door.

The door cracked open and the bright light shone upon them. They entered into the office, the space, magnificently wide.

Aegon and the two men entered the office, into this magnificently wide room. The space was vast that it could be compared to a typical two bedroom apartment.

The room was dazzling, showing that the person who occupied it was at the top of the highest level.

Aegon looked around and noticed something, then, the words left his lips.

"There is no one here!"
