Wu Chang asked in surprise:

"Does the landlady also take care of laundry and cooking at your doorstep?"

Raventown ignored Wu Chang and Erin, who were still touring the first floor, and was the first to head upstairs, saying without looking back:

"In Grimland, it’s normal. The landlord takes on cleaning, cooking, and guest reception duties to increase competitiveness and charge a service fee."

Wu Chang raised his eyebrows. In his real world, landlords are usually wealthier than tenants, helping with daily maintenance and appliance replacements is already beyond expected, and they don’t go that far.

He took Erin up the staircase to the second floor. As soon as they got halfway up, they smelled a mix of ink, incense, and the scent of mystical and alchemical materials, distinctly different from the first floor.

Upon reaching the second floor, he saw Raventown hurriedly tidying up something. Raventown did not stop Wu Chang and Erin from exploring, having rushed upstairs to presumably cover up some undisclosed things.

Wu Chang pulled out a notebook that was obviously just inserted into the shelf, his fingers skimming through the pages, stopping at the page with the largest gap in a split second.

Inside were many clippings. They seemed to be from newspapers from the New World, as they all contained content about him.

Including him resolving a haunted gold mine case, and with Erin also involved in the case, being personally hosted by the local mayor.

In this plane, later when he and Erin got married, the mayor personally attended as a guest.

Wu Chang pointed at the wedding photo of them and said to Erin:

"Look, the photo is quite nice."

Erin looked at the photo of herself in a wedding dress, her face slightly red, nodding: "It’s really nice."

"Do you want to take a real set when we go back?"

Erin’s face flushed, she didn’t say a word.

Wu Chang continued flipping through the clippings and found the investigations weren’t only about him, but many descendants of the Secret Magic Knight Order were in this investigation notebook.

He skimmed through and saw Dean Randy, Julie, and even Queen Olivia.

Just as he was about to take a closer look at the records, Raventown already returned, snatched the notebook away, and closed it.

"Haven’t you heard, when visiting someone’s home, don’t casually look through other people’s things?"

Wu Chang justified: "At least when I investigate these, it’s in front of you, not done behind your back."

Raventown casually said: "Detectives should investigate behind the scenes."

He went to the second floor’s drawing-room, sat down by himself, picked up the table-side pipe and put it in his mouth, saying:

"Julie sent you to find me. What’s the matter?"

Wu Chang sat opposite Raventown, asking back: "You are Julie’s person?"

Raventown said: "You should say, Julie is ours."

Wu Chang asked: "Who are you?"

"Who else could it be, of course, the downtrodden descendants of the Secret Magic Knight Order," Raventown said blandly.

"Your family has poor heritage, but you resolved the Moonlight Sanatorium matter, you should know many of the Secret Magic Knight Order’s secrets from back then."

"But the descendants of the Secret Magic Knight Order seemed cursed by the Evil God, mostly unable to preserve their wealth, usually squandered within a few generations."

"The Anderson Clan you met in White Stone Town is already considered the best status currently."

"And not every descendant of the Secret Magic Knight Order, like Randy, has the duty to suppress the revival of the Evil God. In other families, the Secret Magic Knight Order’s practices have not discontinued."

Hearing this, Wu Chang understood Raventown’s meaning.

Wu Chang pursed his lips, not dwelling on this question, and instead asked:

"How long has your organization been going on?"

Raventown, seeing Wu Chang changing the subject, followed suit, saying: "It’s been over a decade."

"So before Olivia’s ascent to the throne, your organization already existed?" Wu Chang asked.

Raventown didn’t hide it, "You could make it more explicit, Olivia’s smooth succession, we were indeed involved."

Queen Olivia, regarded as the nominal King of the world’s most powerful Empire, is arguably the most influential woman in this plane.

Gossip, inherent to human nature, spread fervently about Olivia, even in the New World.
