Fired?!

Seraphina Sutton’s vision went dark, her legs grew weak, and she nearly collapsed.

She had worked so hard to get Kaden Xavier to let her into this airline, just to be close to him. She couldn’t leave like this!

Seraphina Sutton sniffled pitifully, her eyes welling with tears as she tilted her head up, revealing a heart-wrenchingly lovely expression.

"Kaden, I know I was wrong to hide it, but the baby is innocent. I don’t want to make things difficult for you because of me. I’ll accept the company’s decision."

Their intimate behavior made the executives who had come to deal with Seraphina Sutton hesitate.

’Others might not know, but how could they be unaware of Kaden Xavier’s identity?’

One look at Seraphina Sutton and Kaden Xavier was enough to tell their relationship was complicated. And they didn’t dare offend Kaden Xavier.

Kaden Xavier gently patted Seraphina Sutton’s back, his voice softening as he coaxed her, "Don’t worry. As long as I’m here, no one will dare fire you."

He shielded Seraphina Sutton behind him, his dark gaze sweeping over the executives with a heavy, unmistakable warning.

"This decision was made without my approval. It doesn’t count."

"But, Mr. Xavier, this child..."

"The child is mine."

The moment he spoke, silence fell. You could have heard a pin drop.

Suddenly, a figure rushed forward and slammed a fist into Kaden Xavier’s face.

Kaden Xavier fell to the ground.

"Kaden Xavier, how could you do this! How could you face her?"

Felix Vance pointed at Kaden Xavier, roaring in fury. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Both men tacitly avoided saying her name, but they both knew "her" was Wren Wynter.

"Kaden!"

Seraphina Sutton cried out, immediately rushing over to help Kaden Xavier up.

Felix Vance strode forward, grabbed Kaden Xavier by the collar, and glared at him, growling through clenched teeth, "Kaden Xavier, since you don’t know how to cherish Dr. Wynter, you should let her go! If you won’t treasure her, plenty of others will!"

"Are you done?" Kaden Xavier asked calmly.

He felt guilty toward Wren Wynter, so he wasn’t angry that Felix Vance was standing up for her.

Provoked by his indifference, Felix Vance raised his fist to strike again, but then he seemed to see something. He let go of Kaden Xavier, the fury on his face freezing in place.

He followed Felix Vance’s gaze and saw Wren Wynter standing at the company entrance, watching them without a trace of emotion.

Her expression was completely empty, as if she were looking at strangers.

An inexplicable panic seized Kaden Xavier’s heart.

’How much did she hear?’

’Or did she hear everything?’

When Wren Wynter heard Kaden Xavier admit the child was his, an indescribable sorrow washed over her.

She lowered her head with a cold laugh, then her calm gaze swept over Kaden Xavier and Seraphina Sutton before she slowly walked over to Joy Lynch and Claire Shaw.

"Wren..."

Kaden Xavier wanted to explain that things weren’t as Wren Wynter had heard, but Seraphina Sutton tugged at his clothes, looking at him with a pleading expression.

Wren Wynter had already guessed Kaden Xavier wouldn’t explain their relationship, so she held no expectations.

’Explaining now would be the same as throwing Seraphina Sutton to the wolves, wouldn’t it?’

’How could Kaden Xavier bear to let his one true love suffer like that?’

"According to the pregnancy test report, Flight Attendant Sutton is four months pregnant. However, to our knowledge, Dr. Wynter resigned one month ago. May I ask, Dr. Wynter, were you aware of Flight Attendant Sutton’s pregnancy?"

An executive directed the question at Wren Wynter.

’They couldn’t afford to provoke Seraphina Sutton, but a mere flight doctor? Surely they could handle her.’

’The higher-ups had ordered a strict punishment. They couldn’t just go back empty-handed.’

Wren Wynter pressed her lips together, her brow furrowing.

’She had already resigned. There was no way they could punish her now, right?’

Before Wren Wynter could speak, Seraphina Sutton bit her lower lip and peeked out from behind Kaden Xavier, looking fragile and frail as she offered a seemingly considerate explanation.

"Manager Lewis, this has nothing to do with anyone else. If I had a choice, I wouldn’t have violated company policy, and I certainly wouldn’t have wanted Dr. Wynter to help me hide it. But I really want to study abroad, and the baby is innocent!"

Seraphina Sutton’s explanation successfully swayed everyone present, and they all turned their suspicion on the innocent Wren Wynter.

Wren Wynter’s expression darkened.

’She hadn’t gone looking for trouble with Seraphina Sutton, but Seraphina had come looking for it with her. In that case, she couldn’t be blamed for being merciless.’

"I did know about it at the time, and I apologize to everyone for concealing it. However, I repeatedly advised Flight Attendant Sutton to stop flying, for the sake of the passengers and her child, but she was unwilling. There are security cameras in the infirmary. If you don’t believe me, you can go check for yourselves," Wren Wynter said coolly.

Seraphina Sutton’s face paled. She hadn’t expected Wren Wynter to burn her bridges like this.

’Even if Wren didn’t care about her, she should have at least considered Kaden Xavier’s reputation.’

’If they checked the security footage, everyone would know it was Kaden Xavier who told Wren Wynter to hide it. Then they would all say he was showing favoritism.’

"That’s right! If you don’t believe her, go pull the security footage."

Joy Lynch also stepped forward to speak up for Wren Wynter.

Suddenly, the way everyone looked at Seraphina Sutton turned strange.

Last time, her dog had caused a passenger’s death. This time, for her own selfish reasons, she had ignored the flight doctor’s warnings and endangered the lives of all the passengers.

’A person like that didn’t deserve to be a flight attendant at all!’

Wren Wynter glanced coolly at the two hesitant executives and reminded them, "You two should probably just follow the rules. Otherwise, if the legal authorities get involved, this won’t be something you can resolve internally.

Aviation law prohibits pregnant women from flying. No matter how big this company is, is it bigger than the laws of Cathay?"

The two executives’ expressions changed slightly. As if having made up their minds, they stepped forward and spoke to Kaden Xavier.

"Captain Xavier, the upper management has already decided to terminate Flight Attendant Sutton. Please do not obstruct our duties."

Seraphina Sutton clutched Kaden Xavier’s sleeve tightly.

Kaden Xavier’s deep, dark eyes stared coldly at Wren Wynter, his tone tinged with ice.

’Does she have to go after Seraphina at every turn?’

"I’ve said it before. I wasn’t aware of this decision, so it doesn’t count!"

His words carried an unquestionable authority.

Seraphina Sutton breathed a silent sigh of relief.

’As long as Kaden Xavier disagreed, it didn’t matter how much of a scene Wren Wynter made. There was no way she would be fired.’

Wren Wynter was used to Kaden Xavier’s double standards.

’As long as she wasn’t made the scapegoat, how he chose to handle it was his problem.’

But Seraphina Sutton refused to let Wren Wynter off the hook.

"Dr. Wynter, I know you have issues with me because of how Kaden takes care of me, and that’s why you reported me anonymously. It’s okay, I understand. I have no objection to the company’s decision. Please don’t be angry with Kaden over this anymore, okay?"

As she spoke, she even held out her hands, as if offering herself up to be taken away.

The crowd was in an uproar. So it was Wren Wynter who had reported Seraphina Sutton.

From what Seraphina Sutton was implying, Wren Wynter also had special feelings for Captain Xavier.

’No wonder she was always targeting Flight Attendant Sutton. It was because she was jealous!’

Wren Wynter’s face fell.
