A soft white glow pulsed above me. The ceiling was curved, sterile. A dome of synthetic light, smooth as porcelain.
I couldn’t move.
My wrists were strapped down with thick metal cuffs. Same with my ankles. A steel band pressed against my chest, holding me flat to the cold, surgical table beneath me. Tubes ran from my neck into something behind the table. And something cold ice-cold was inside my spine.
