Cyberpunk: Ultimate Cyborg System
Chapter 640: Level 6.
Understanding the Threat Index was no easy task, mainly because nothing about it was clear. Level 6, for example, is given to Enhanced Individuals with the destructive capabilities of the combined military might of all modern nations. It is also said that those individuals are capable of defeating the entire world if the two were to end up on opposite sides of a conflict. Of course, other Enhanced Individuals aren't counted in such estimates, but that was beside the point.
There has only ever been one Level 6 EI as far as the public was concerned, but said EI had never used his full power before. With no point of reference, one would find it impossible to visualize the kind of power someone on that level wields, but Dante no longer had that problem.

Dante no longer felt the strain of donning any of VOLCAN's armor, and nothing made that clearer than the fact that he had no trouble wearing one Level 6 armor after another. It was almost as if the torture brought upon him by the strongest armors in his arsenal was entirely gone, even if it still affected the small parts he has yet to swap for bionics.
Type 4 specializes in physical force, simple and direct. It might not be the perfect choice when fighting an anthropomorphic tiger whose main focus is on strength, but Dante still decided to go with it for the second round of their clash, and the result far surpassed anything he had expected.
Hollowstreet was entirely flattened, all ten kilometer of it. The buildings were ground into powder, and even the metal holding them up was crushed. The megacomplexes had always felt like indestructible structures that would outlive humanity, but they were rendered into nothing after a single clash between two Level 6 EIs.
This was a battle between the strongest beings on the planet. Containing it within one of his pocket dimensions was the right choice. If the two of them had fought in the real world, the damage would've likely spread beyond Hollowgrid. Neo-Vatra would have been erased in a matter of seconds, and though he liked to think he wouldn't care if that happened, Dante still wanted to avoid being the one who caused it.
Dante didn't hold back, activating most of 4-6's abilities. That ate at his energy reserves pretty quickly, but that allowed him to gain the upper hand right from the start while taking next to no damage. Still, it didn't feel like his opponent was going down any time soon.
'Is that Soul Manifestation he's using?'
[No,] Volcan replied. [It seems to be a type of Sorcery, although different from the one used by humans.]
'Greatβ¦'
Dante believed he would be lying if he said he wasn't enjoying himself. He had always thought that his first big fight at this level would be against Paragon, but as luck would have it, a prey of a different kind fell into his trap.
[Getting tired, aren't we?] Dante asked, having noticed that his furry opponent wasn't so eager to attack now. [Are you ready to talk?]
The humanoid tiger clicked his tongue, making the sound their signal to move again. His attack carried a lot more force than the last, but his fist didn't go farther than before. An almost automatic activation of Force Absorption ate away most of the force behind the attack, while Force Redirection dispersed the rest into the surroundings.
Dante dodged the next three punches while channeling the energy he absorbed into his fist. The green aura encasing it grew brighter, signaling his upcoming attack, but the furry bastard ignored it, continuing with his attacks despite the danger. The opening he was offering might turn out to be a trap, but Dante took it anyway. His fist slammed into the humanoid tiger, returning the force he absorbed a moment ago.
At the very last moment, the furry bastard manifested a layer of golden light around the impact point. The way he gritted his teeth showed that it was far from enough, and try as he might, he couldn't stop himself from being sent flying.
The golden light shifted to his right leg. He flipped while in midair, kicking at nothing. His leg traced a sharp arc that shot out toward Dante, and if he hadn't seen it coming, he wouldn't have had the time to evade.
The humanoid tiger shot another three arcs, two of which missed, while the third struck true, only to shatter upon impact. 6-3's Module came with the Force Field ability, which shielded Dante from most damage so long as he had the energy to fuel it.
It was supposed to be the other way around. When he first got his MBIs, Dante had planned on wearing a Type 6 armor with Type 4 Modules underneath. That would allow him to make use of the latter's strength while protecting himself using the former's defensive capabilities.
Type 6 had very low mobility, so using its armors on their own made him a sitting duckx and the same went for their went for it's Modules. Without the boost in agility Type 4-6 provided, he wouldn't have been able to move his arms and legs.
[It's about time, don't you think?] Evading another arc of energy, Dante kicked the ground and zoomed in on the furry bastard. [Maybe you should take a break!]
