Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf
Chapter 178: Dragonal Leader
Dra’allu sighed at her question, " It’s not simple." He didn’t elaborate but all three werewolves understood.
Probably the truth would cause some friction with a powerful being or even an entire race.
Adrian thought deeply, he honestly didn’t want to help them, bringing a Dragonal to live with them could expose them.
" Give us a moment." He grabbed Annie and teleported upstairs leaving the Dragonewts with Suzie.
" I’m not sure about this, if that Dragonewt discovers our secret, they might try to use it against us."
Annie wrapped her arms around his neck, " I understand, but you’re worrying too much, it will just be twelve days."
That made him even less inclined to agree. " Why twelve, doesn’t he supposed to get through the 72 hours?" He asked in confusion.
She shook her head, " No, the 72 hours are just preparation, you can consider them a chance given by the Grieved Souls for the target to repent and come clean.
When they’re over, that’s when they really attack. Most die as soon as the 72 hours end.
However in case you survived in that moment, the Grieved Soul has 12 days and 12 night to kill you.
Each of those 12 is a representation of the 12 seals, each day that goes by with the target being alive, the stronger and more feral the grieved soul becomes."
He nodded, " The 12 seals huh? Doesn’t that mean we’ll have to deal with an increasingly stronger dead spirit with each day that passes?"
She nodded, " Unfortunately, after the 72 hours end, the Grieved Souls are no longer bound by any rules.
They are free to kill whoever stands in their way but bare in mind, Grieved Souls can only be born from the souls of the innocent.
I don’t know what constitutes innocence but the more innocent the victim was, the stronger the grievance is.
This also means they’re unlikely to kill bystanders, even those who protect the target are most likely just going to be hurt a bit.
At first at least but as the days go by, the more twisted the Grieved Soul get, eventually they would kill anything in their way.
I’m not exactly sure if the book is absolutely accurate but I think we should be ready, at least our venom should be able to kill dead spirits."
" I don’t get it, at first you seemed to not like those targeted by the Grieved Souls, they deserved you said."
She sighed, " I still don’t but I can’t put my feelings above the wellbeing of the pack, making a friendship with the Dragonals would be good for us.
Currently we’re surrounded by only enemies, while the witches might not be our enemies, they’re not allies either.
It would be good to have one of the top races owe us a favour."
" Fine, we’ll agree to shield their brother for 12 days but as long as he stays here, he’ll live by our rules."
She nodded and they teleported back. " We have made a decision." He spoke, 5he Dragonals looked nervous.
" We’ll protect your brother for 12 days but we don’t want any payment, in exchange, you’ll owe us a favour.
One day we’ll call on this favour and you’ll have to answer, these are our terms, you can agree to them or not, the choice is yours."
Even Annie was surprised by his request, she thought Adrian would still demand money.
But this made her smile, what he had just requested was better than any amount of money, it was priceless.
The Dragonals looked at each other then nodded. " We agree to your terms, you can call in your favour and I’ll...."
Adrian raised his hand stopping Dra’allu before he could finish his sentence. " You misunderstood something here, I’m not talking about you.
This favour will be owed by your people, should we call, you shall all answer, your favour alone is worthless to us."
His words were harsh, Dra’allu and Dra’Sul frowned, being told their favour was worthless did not feel good.
" We cannot promise you that, we don’t have that much authority." Dra’Sul shook her head. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
" However, if you give us a bit of time we can talk to father, and older is the next heir of our people, if you help him, we’ll all owe you."
He nodded then took out a contract written in blood. " You can go back home and have the leader of your race sign this."
He gave them the contract, they nodded and left. " Are you sure they won’t just have anybody else sign it?" Suzie asked.
He nodded, " The contract specified who should sign it, if anybody else tries, the spell will ignite their blood."

The Dragonewts went back home and rushed to seek an audience with their father. Even as his children, seeing him was a hard thing to do.
They were granted an audience and found him with their mother in his office. " Father, mother."
They greeted and bowed slightly, " Have you found a solution to your brother’s predicament?"
Their father asked coldly without even looking at them. They all knew he didn’t like them.
Compared to their older brother, they were disappointments to him, their blood purity could not match his.
Their brother had the highest blood purity of any Dragonewt in the past twelve thousand years.
He was the first since then to have over 90 percent dragon blood making him equal to a demon archduke.
Plus his growth speed was incredibly fast, at just 189 years old he has already reached the peak of level 6.
It should be mentioned that the higher the purity of one’s esper, the slower their growth after level 5.
Dra’allu stood forward, amongst his siblings, he was the only one who made it abundantly clear he also didn’t like his father.
As the second born, he was the first to face the brunt of his abuse and neglect after all, the other two had him.
He first looked at his mother who looked down in shame then he faced the man he called father.
" We have found a possible solution but it comes with a condition." He took out the contract and gave it to him.
Their father read the contract and frowned, " Us owing a lowly guild a favour, those fools should be thankful we even spoke to them.
Helping us should be their pleasure, how dare they make demands of us?" He growled but Dra’allu didn’t flinch.
" We’ve done our part, whether your son lives or die is up to you now, also calling people with the power to do what you couldn’t lowly us ironic don’t you think?"
He made a snark comment then left leaving his father glaring at his back with cold eyes.
