Chapter 177: Chapter 177: Heads Lowered

It had been less than two hours since the Dragonals left. Annie was surprised to see them return.

Except this time, there were only three and all were from the Dragonewt race, they looked quite similar.

It was obvious they were related somehow. The one who came before walked looking embarrassed.

Behind him was a woman who kept nudging him forward. The last one though, the one who appeared to be the oldest stopped.

The other two turned and walked back towards him.

-------------------------------

Dra’allu stopped in front of the guild entrance. His hand started shaking, Dra’allu was born with a special ability.

This ability of his allowed him to sense danger, whoever there was something with the ability to kill him nearby, he would feel it.

Overtime he understood this didn’t mean whatever he was sensing was stronger than he was.

Am example of this was when he encountered the myriad dragon snake as a kid.

The dragon snake was just a snake with extremely potent venom. It was much weaker than he was.

But its venom was potent enough to potentially kill him in less than a minute, it was then that he understood this power of his.

And right now, he was feeling it as well, something within this guild building had the power to end his life.

His instincts born from his ability were telling him his death would be a certainty should whatever he was feeling reach him.

He took a deep breath, he noticed his two siblings were giving him strange looks. He walked inside.

" You’re feeling okay?" Dra’Sul asked and he nodded.

" I believe this guild might really have something that can kill the Grieved Souls." This made the other two pause.

Grieved Souls or rather any dead spirit cannot be killed. They can be sent to the afterlife which is his you deal with them.

For Grieved Souls though, as long as the grievance remains, they cannot even go to the afterlife.

Which meant dealing with them was impossible. Killing them even more so, after all, they were already dead.

Dead spirits were not like the undead who remained in the state between both life and death like zombies, ghouls and wendigo.

Hearing his brother’s words, Dra’all started shaking, he remembered those cold silver eyes and the threat behind that cold voice.

And it dawned on him, the person behind this guild might be more of a monster then he had first believed.

The vice guild master was the one who met them. " Thank you for seeing us yourself vice guild master, it’s an honour."

Dra’Sul spoke first, the vice guild master glared at them coldy. " Considering our last interaction with one of your own.

I can’t really risk the lives of the staff now can I?" That question made Dra’all look down in embarrassment.

His sister grabbed the back of his head and they both bowed. Dra’allu hesitated for a moment but followed as well.

Annie was genuinely surprised, from what she had read about the Dragonals, they were even more prideful than vampires.

This was especially true for the royalty of the Dragonals yet here they were bowing to her begging for forgiveness.

She immediately discerned they were very desperate. " Follow me." She led them to a back room.

She found Adrian already waiting there, she had sent him a pack call telling him to wait here.

She sat next to him while the Dragonals sat opposite them. Adrian didn’t say anything, only Annie and Dra’Sul spoke.

Both women noticed the two men glaring at each other. Both had their own thoughts running through them.

Adrian could sense this Dragonewt was at level 6, he was incredibly powerful and sensing the purity of his esper.

He immediately discerned he must be equal to a demon duke which is equal to a Beta amongst the werewolves.

An incredibly powerful being and being two levels above him, Adrian wasn’t sure he would be a match for this.

Especially considering the gap in strength between levels grows even wider the higher you go.

At the same time, Dra’allu was trying to see through Adrian as well and he was failing. The fox tail and cloak were no longer enough to completely hide Adrian.

But that didn’t mean they were useless, Dra’allu could only sense Adrian’s level but not esper purity.

He found it hard to discern his strength as a result. However his instincts told him to be extremely careful.

Yes Adrian was possibly weaker than this guy in a head on clash but he has an extremely high number of abilities.

While most were useless and redundant, he still had Teleport, as long as he timed it right alongside his venom.

He can kill even level 7 or so believes, even if he couldn’t, he could always escape and fight another day.

The two men finally stopped gauging each other’s strength and listened to the two women talking.

" So, you want the guild to protect your older brother from the Grieved Souls?" Annie asked with a raised eyebrow.

Right then Suzie walked in carrying a tray, following behind her were two other maids each with a tray.

The trays had biscuits and other sweets. They poured the tea, the maida left and Suzie stood behind Adrian.

Dra’Sul took a biscuit and a sip of tea, she couldn’t hide the pleasure, when she noticed the disdainful gaze Suzie was giving her she coughed with embarrassment.

" Yes yes, our older brother has been marked, he had less than 13 hours now before the 72 hours are over.

We’ve tried everything but we couldn’t find a solution to his problem, the guild is our last hope."

Annie took a sip of tea, " I see." Annie nodded like she understood.

Adrian leaned forward, " There’s something I don’t quite understand, the Grieved Souls are spirits.

Surely you know salt and pure iron can be used against them right?" He asked.

Dra’allu sighed, " You’re right but that only applies during the 72 hours, once they’re over.

The Grieved Souls become immune to both pure iron and salt, they can no longer be stopped by them.

What happened in front of your guild was the first, a Grieved Soul never stops until the target is dead but it did here as if wary of something." Dra’allu answered.

Annie placed down her cup, " There’s simpler way to solve this though isn’t there, why go to such trouble?"
