Everyone, including Kailen, stared at the approaching horde. The numbers were staggering. The chaotic beasts ranged from eerie-looking chimeras, serpentine-looking beasts, and mammal-looking creatures to bird-like creatures. Some were extremely colossal, blotting out the skies, their large shadows looming over everyone like an apocalypse was about to descend. Others towered over others like sentinels.

The higher-ups of the cooperating organizations of the Castellan District didn’t need to instruct their members on what to do. Everyone here was a transcendent. They had risen from the lowest awakener ranks in the universe to get to where they were now. They were experienced enough to not be impulsive. They knew their limits—what beast to handle, and which could get them easily killed.

There was a silent, tacit agreement among everyone gathered here. Strength would determine who could handle what beast.

"The stronger ones with more advanced sentience are the ones controlling the horde. They are yet to appear. Let’s prepare to handle them and leave these ones to the members of our organizations," the leader of the Law Enforcement Agency in the district said.

"That’s sound."

"Let’s do that."

Each leader turned to their organizations. Guild Leader Dawnseer and the other higher-ups of the Dawnseer Guild looked at the guild members.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I’m sure you are all waiting for the signal to attack. Please, go all out. Novice-stage light transcendents remain above here. You are the most important people on the battlefield. In case of injuries that can be dealt with, your assistance will be needed. You can use long-range aid to heal any wounds your strength can handle. Having you alive literally means securing the lives of several on the battlefield. No harm can come to you."

Everyone nodded in understanding. Several wondered how the novice-stage light transcendents would get contribution points. Guild Leader Dawnseer added, "For everyone they heal, the same mechanism applied for dealing with the chaotic beasts will be applied for them."

The light transcendents of the guild and that of the other organizations remained above with the leaders of the organizations. Everyone else charged towards the approaching horde pouring out of the mountain range.

At the moment, everything was being streamed to the other districts. Every part of Richtchard City was watching. The guilds, especially, of the other districts paid close attention to the stream. During this incident, they would get to see the strength of the geniuses of the Dawnseer Guild for themselves.

Several individuals could be seen roaming the streets. Some headed into other ones, and others floated or walked towards different places. Several holographic panels and displays were displaying the chaotic beast tide of the Castellan District. Many were watching with curiosity.

In one of the skyscrapers in the Wildermere District, a meeting was happening. In a very luxurious conference room in the CrimsonFang Guild, several guild higher-ups had gathered.

"He’s still alive," Guild Leader CrimsonFang, a demihuman with a fox tail and humanoid appearance, dressed in casual jeans, shirt, and sneakers said, eyes glued to the holographic screen. A person randomly appeared on the screen—Kailen Darkhaven—before the screen shifted to another person.

"It’s either those fellows met some unfortunate event and died, or he managed to kill them," one of the higher-ups of the guild said.

Another added, "I lean towards the first theory. This Kailen Darkhaven is not powerful enough to have gotten rid of them. It’s only been two years; there’s no way he would be powerful enough to have handled them in such a short period."

Several murmurs of agreement spread through the room.

"What happened to the rank 3 novice stage transcendants sent after him?" CrimsonFang asked.

"Those assassins?

Boss, we didn’t hear from them again. No feedback, nothing. They just went silent," someone reported.

"Dawnseer is not stupid. She probably dealt with them herself. It seems this Kailen Darkhaven is more important to the Dawnseer Guild than we thought." CrimsonFang’s eyes flickered with realization. "Prioritize sending another batch of assassins after him when he is alone. If nothing changes after that, let’s leave him alone and just do our best in the National Guild Union competitions."

The moment the order to attack the approaching horde was given, several transcendents launched various principle attacks towards various chaotic beasts. The battlefield was the large area between the Castellan District of Richtchard City and the western mountain range. The transcendents were doing everything they could to thin the numbers of the beast horde from entering the city.

Some were dealing with creatures in the air. Others were dealing with those on the ground. The chaotic beasts responded on pure instinct, weaving principle attacks among the ranks of the transcendents. Shockwaves, bestial roars, and screams of transcendents spread everywhere. The grounds quaked; craters stretching for several kilometers formed. Combustions of different colors spread across the battlefield when principles clashed. Hills were leveled to dust due to the gravity of the attacks.

Many watching the stream even felt their skin tingle. They could not experience the clashes in person, but watching it was enough to let them know it was brutal.

A chaotic beast as large as a mountain and looking like a gorilla roared. It released several sonic booms. It had the Principle of Sound. The sonic boom left a trail of devastation in its wake. Several transcendents turned into puddles of blood the moment the sonic boom came into contact with them. They didn’t even know how they died.

The novice-stage light transcendents, floating in the sky from a distance, focused their attention on different places, attempting to find those with injuries they could do something about. Light waves spread across, healing the injuries of several transcendents, reinforcing them for battle again.

At this moment, a figure had melded with the void and just reappeared a large distance away from where the sonic boom of the gorilla-looking chaotic beast had struck. This figure was naturally Kailen.

The gorilla-looking creature stared in his direction again.
