Chapter 68: Chapter 68: What’s He So Excited About?

Yvonne Sutton looked up at Vincent Reed. Seeing the excited, almost manic look on his face, she couldn’t help but find it funny.

"Even if Wyatt Shaw is cheating, what are you so excited about?"

Vincent Reed said urgently, "See? I wasn’t lying. Wyatt Shaw really did get a hotel room with another woman. If you go now, you can catch them red-handed."

"I’m not interested."

Yvonne Sutton moved to open the gate, but Vincent Reed quickly blocked her way.

"Don’t you want to see it with your own eyes?"

"No."

"You—you’ve been deceived by Wyatt Shaw! You should expose him for who he is and divorce him!"

"You don’t need to worry about it. This is my business," Yvonne Sutton said coolly.

Vincent Reed was still reeling with emotion, but Yvonne Sutton’s placid demeanor gave his agitated feelings nowhere to go.

"How can you tolerate him betraying you? Isn’t that why you broke up with me? So why can’t you divorce him? Yvonne, get a grip! A man like that isn’t worthy of your love! You should... you should..."

"Should what?" Yvonne Sutton raised an eyebrow. "Go back to you?"

Vincent Reed pressed his lips together. "There was a misunderstanding between us. As long as we clear it up..."

"There was no misunderstanding. You said you loved Wendy Winters and were going to marry her, so we broke up. What’s there to misunderstand?" Yvonne Sutton scoffed. "As for Wyatt Shaw and me, that has nothing to do with you. You’d better stop this ridiculous act!"

With that, Yvonne Sutton opened the gate and walked inside.

"I will make you see his true colors!" Vincent Reed vowed through gritted teeth.

Yvonne Sutton ignored him and kept walking toward the house.

"Yvonne, I know it hurt you when I married Wendy Winters, but we’re about to get a divorce! We can start over! I don’t mind that you were married to Wyatt Shaw. I know you still love me!"

Yvonne Sutton slammed the front door, shutting out the sound of Vincent’s voice.

She went upstairs, took a shower, and lay down on her bed. She pulled out her phone, debating whether to text Wyatt Shaw. He usually texted her every day, but there hadn’t been a single message from him today.

’What’s he doing right now?’

Yvonne Sutton took a deep breath, forcing herself to stop overthinking.

「The next day.」

Yvonne Sutton didn’t leave the house. She spent the entire day reading.

That evening, Vincent Reed started knocking on her door, his rapping urgent. She had planned on ignoring him, but he kept knocking relentlessly. It was incredibly annoying.

Yvonne Sutton went to the door in her pajamas and found Vincent Reed looking frantic.

"Quick, go change. You’re coming with me to the Azure Grand Hotel."

Yvonne Sutton frowned. "What are you doing?"

"I’m taking you to catch him in the act!"

’He can’t possibly think I’d get back together with him if I divorced Wyatt Shaw, can he?’

’Am I crazy? Or stupid? Am I really that pathetic?’

"I’ve had someone keeping an eye on him at the Azure Grand Hotel. He left during the day but just got back. That woman has been in the hotel the whole time. If we go over now, I guarantee we’ll catch them."

Vincent Reed grew more and more agitated as he spoke, looking as if he wanted to drag her there that very second.

Yvonne Sutton took a deep breath. "Get lost!"

Vincent Reed’s eyes widened. "I’m helping you!"

"Get lost!"

"You!" Vincent Reed seethed, gritting his teeth. "You deserve to be deceived by him!"

Vincent Reed grabbed a fistful of his hair and paced frantically in front of her door, still not ready to give up.

"Fine! You wait! I’ll go by myself. I’ll take photos, record a video... I’m going to make you see the truth!" With that, Vincent Reed hurried to his car and sped off.

Yvonne Sutton rubbed her forehead. ’What is all this nonsense?’

She had just gotten back to the living room when her phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number.

She hesitated before answering. A wailing sob came from the other end of the line.

"Miss, I was hit by a car, and the driver took off! My stomach hurts so bad... please, come help me!"

"You..." Yvonne Sutton was momentarily stunned. "You need to call 911."

"I’m too scared... I don’t dare. It’s so dark here, and I’m all alone."

Yvonne Sutton took a deep breath. "Send me your location."

「An hour later.」

Yvonne Sutton arrived by taxi in an alley behind the long-distance bus station. Lazy Cat was huddled in a corner, muffling soft sobs with her hand.

The moment she saw Yvonne, she broke into a full-throated wail.

"Miss, I’m going to lose my baby!"

Yvonne Sutton told her to stop crying first. She briefly checked the girl for bleeding, asked a few questions about her condition, and then helped her to her feet. "Let’s get you to the hospital."

When they got to the hospital, they had to register first. Yvonne Sutton helped her fill out the paperwork.

"What’s your name?"

The girl was still whimpering, clearly terrified.

Yvonne Sutton soothed her for a moment before asking her name again.

The girl pursed her lips and whispered her name.

Yvonne Sutton wrote down the name. When she looked back at the girl, she had already lowered her head, looking guilty.

Meanwhile, Vincent Reed had arrived on the sixteenth floor. He got his phone ready to record video and started knocking on the door. It opened quickly to reveal Wyatt Shaw in a bathrobe. Vincent’s eyes lit up, and he immediately charged inside.

"Yvonne, you see this? He’s in the shower, and his little mistress is probably still in the bed..."

He barged in, immediately aiming his phone at the bed, but there was no mistress to be seen. He froze, stunned, then turned back to Wyatt Shaw. "Where did you hide your little tramp?"

Wyatt Shaw’s eyes shifted, and he instantly understood what was going on.

A corner of his mouth twitched. "And where would I hide her?"

Vincent Reed, still holding his phone up, scanned the room. "She must be in the bedroom."

"Then go on, take a look."

Vincent Reed walked to the bedroom door, but then he felt something was off. He turned around. "You must have hidden her somewhere else. I..."

Before he could finish, Wyatt Shaw kicked out.

"Having fun, are we? Then I’ll really give you something to play with!"

Wyatt Shaw kicked Vincent Reed to the bathroom floor, grabbed the showerhead, and started spraying him, kicking him a few more times for good measure.

Vincent’s phone, completely soaked, shorted out. He roared in fury, splashing wildly as he got up and swung a punch at Wyatt Shaw.

Wyatt Shaw didn’t even dodge. He caught the fist and twisted it sharply.

Vincent Reed cried out in pain and tried to kick, but Wyatt Shaw simply tossed him into the bathtub and went right back to spraying him with the showerhead.

"I’ve knocked around on the streets, and you know it. Trying to fight me head-on? You’re an idiot."

"Wyatt Shaw! You—you’re deceiving Yvonne! You’re not a man!"

Wyatt Shaw smacked Vincent on the head with the showerhead. "Keep my wife’s name out of your filthy mouth!"

Vincent Reed had clearly overestimated his own abilities and underestimated Wyatt Shaw’s. The result was him being trapped in the bathtub, completely drenched.

He struggled to climb out several times, but Wyatt Shaw kept pushing him back in. The more pathetic Vincent looked, the more amused Wyatt seemed to be.

"Having fun?"

"You son of a..."

’This is fucking outrageous!’

This was the scene that greeted Yvonne Sutton and the others when they arrived. This wasn’t catching a cheater in the act; this was just two grown men fighting, one of whom was getting mercilessly bullied due to a clear lack of skill.

"Auntie, tell me, isn’t my uncle terrifying? You see why I should be scared of him, right?"

Yvonne Sutton glanced at Heather Rhodes. The young girl was so frightened she had shrunk into her shoulders.
