"You’ll regret that, brat!"

The leader’s enraged voice resounded at the next moment.

One must note that even though he could not contend and was afraid of Silver Grade Beasts, the same could not be said of Normal Grade Beasts, especially if they were as weak as Gasper’s Fire Wolf, which was only Level 2 Normal Grade at this moment.

Even though he was just a small leader in their bandit group, it could still not be denied that he was also a strong martial artist with a summoned beast himself.

He stared at Gasper with hatred in his eyes as he prepared to kill this brat once and for all.

However, before he could do so, the woman had already appeared in front of him in an instant and punched his guts away. This time, the force was more powerful than the casual kick earlier.

His eyes went wide, like saucers, as blood came out of his orifices.

He could not explain anything as Edith grabbed his ankle and slammed him to the wall.

The leader’s consciousness blanked out as his head cracked open upon impact.

The vicious scene stunned everyone else. Even the crazed Gasper no longer had a smile on his face upon witnessing such a brutal scene.

They stared at the woman, Edith, in fright. They realized that this wasn’t a woman at all, but a demon. A demon who does not bat an eye when reaping a life.

Perhaps at this moment, only Erika remained unfazed and unperturbed.

It was not because she was not afraid of what she just witnessed, but because she accepted their outcome the moment they entered the chamber full of beast corpses.

All the bandits shivered in fear as they saw the outcome of their leader, the strongest of them all, even without his summoned beast.

At that moment, they knew that this was not a treasure room but a slaughterhouse. They each took a step back, drew out their weapons, and were prepared to escape from this room.

None of them were dumb enough to fight back, as even their leader was killed easily like a small rat right in front of them.

Unfortunately, Miguel and Edith do not plan on sparing any of them.

The bandits immediately scurried back to where they originally came from, leaving behind the captives, who could do nothing as they were tied by ropes.

Before they could enter the tunnel once more, though, Edith had already used [Flash Step] and appeared right in front of them.

None of them were able to react as Edith reaped their lives one by one without mercy.

No one should mistake her for someone softhearted and kind, with her valiant and dignified nature.

She could no longer count how many lives she reaped in her previous life for various reasons, humans included.

Her hand was already tainted with so much blood that she could kill anyone without batting an eye.

She was ruthless toward those who deserved it.

It was because of this characteristic of hers that a lot of people from her time respected her a lot. Not only because of her heroic actions, but also because she could be ruthless when the time called for it.

With how weak the bandits were, Edith killed them easily, as though she were harvesting cabbage on a normal day.

For a Gold Grade Beast to kill humans who do not have a Martial Artist rank yet was truly just a massacre.

Miguel ordered her to do it, so she did it without any question.

Those were bandits who have done more atrocities than all their fingers combined. Showing mercy to them was never her option to begin with, so she gladly took their lives without asking any questions.

After she did so, she immediately went back beside Miguel without even bothering to take a glance at the captives, who were still shaking in fear.

In their minds, they thought that they would be next. However, they were confused when Edith stopped after the last bandit and walked right back to Miguel.

With the killings, though, none of them dared to speak a word as they just stared at her walking back to Miguel.

No one said a single word, increasing the tension the captives felt in the air.

The chamber was as silent as it could be, and even Edith’s footsteps were light and without any sound.

She arrived besides Miguel a moment later with the gazes of everyone still on her due to fear of what she would do next.

"Okay, guys, you can relax. You’re safe now," Miguel stated as he clapped his hands lightly, waking up everyone from their stupor.

Hearing that, all the captives immediately looked at each other in confusion. They still could not comprehend what was happening.

Miguel shrugged his shoulders and walked towards Erika, along with Edith.

Everyone felt uneasy after seeing both of them move at the same time.

Erika grew anxious as she saw the two of them walking towards her.

Meanwhile, Gasper, who saw their actions and thought that they were going to do something to Erika, immediately reacted on impulse.

He ordered the Fire Wolf to attack, even knowing that he stood no chance against the woman, Edith, who easily killed all the bandits earlier.

And just like he expected, his Fire Wolf was immediately swatted away by her as though it were just a mere fly.

The Fire Wolf immediately turned into a streak of light and entered Gasper’s grimoire, as it could not take the beatings anymore. Fortunately, it was not dead and was only recuperating.

Meanwhile, Miguel turned to look at Gasper while shaking his head.

This kid was truly brave and courageous. Although he was a bully, Miguel also realized that he was hiding a kind heart behind the rough one.

Miguel was satisfied with his recent actions as well, making him less irritating to look at.

As for the deal they made in the carriage back then, Miguel had already fulfilled the end of his bargain, as they were now safe and away from the bandits.

After Edith swatted away the Fire Wolf, Miguel no longer bothered about Gasper as he untied Erika and then Murphy.

He then gestured for the two of them to untie the others as well.

In front of the untied captives, Miguel suddenly turned to look upwards and stated, "Ahh, I wonder what year it is now? "

At the same moment, two pairs of eyes went wide in surprise and joy upon seeing his actions.
