I Can Contract Beauties - Chapter 114: Just Like That
"Aiyah, could you not let them play peacefully for a few moments?"
Miguel patted the leader’s shoulder as she said those words with a regretful tone.
The leader shivered in fright as he immediately hopped away in vigilance.
The five summoners around him also reacted and hopped away in fright.
"When did you-" the leader asked, looking at Miguel, who was wearing a draconic mask with a ghastly face.
His words were cut off as he realized that he could not see through Miguel.
In fact, he saw him amidst the crowd earlier but did not take him to heart, thinking that he was just another mercenary like Albert and the others.
However, only now did he realize that Miguel was the most dangerous of the bunch.
He did not even have to see him fight to know that he was a very formidable Martial Artist from his movement alone.
Realizing this point, he did not waste any more time and immediately cast his absolute shield. Surprisingly enough, it was Silver in color, meaning, he was already an Elite Rank Summoner like Miguel.
The greatest disadvantage of summoners’ was their weak bodies compared to martial artists.
He had already experienced his fair share of battles against martial artists, and he knew that they liked to deal with the Summoners first before they could cast their shield to end the battle as soon as possible.
Seeing his actions, the other five also cast their absolute shields one after the other. They were just bronze-colored absolute shields, though, and it was apparent that they were just Apprentice Rank Summoners.
"Interesting," Miguel muttered to himself as he looked at them with great interest.
Grimoire use was rare to begin with. Most of them would congregate with a powerful force or family.
Those who could reach Elite Rank and have a Silver Grade Grimoire should already be leaders of a powerful group in Blazing Expanse. Heck, even Albert was already good enough to lead a squad of powerful mercenaries on his own; how much more a person who has a Silver Grade Grimoire and was an Elite Rank Summoner?
In terms of status, they were already enough to lead a Red Family branch, just like Marcel.
However, one of them was right in front of him, doing some dirty work.
He began to wonder about the identity and the one who was behind this group of people.
The next moment, though, the leader pressed his hand on the second page of his grimoire as he summoned a massive silverback gorilla in front of him.
The gorilla immediately beat its own chest, as though announcing its grand entrance.
Miguel stared at the gorilla and realized that it was actually very strong.
The five people beside the leader also heaved a sigh of relief as they saw that the gorilla had been summoned.
They no longer paid attention to them as they canceled their shield and moved to a different spot to focus on their own respective battles.
Meanwhile, the leader was not done, and he summoned another beast. Its aura and strength were not as strong as those of the gorilla, but it emitted a mysterious feeling.
It was a black butterfly the size of two palms.
The moment it appeared, its whole body began to glow at the flaps of its wings. It then landed at the back of the gorilla as it bathed in the dust produced by the butterfly’s wings.
The gorilla beat its chest like a drum once more. Whatever the butterfly did, Miguel could tell that it managed to strengthen the gorilla by a huge margin.
However, would that even matter?
Swoosh!
All of a sudden, a figure of a woman suddenly appeared right beside the huge silverback gorilla.
The woman jumped slightly and came face-to-face with the gorilla.
BOOM!
The leader widened his eyes in disbelief.
The huge gorilla was slapped down to the ground with a huge force by the slender hand of the woman who suddenly appeared beside it.
The gorilla could not even react as it slammed to the ground face first. Its eyes rolled back as blood dripped out of the massive holes in its nose.
Before it could do anything, it was killed just like that.
One slap to the head!
From such a slender hand. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
The leader’s absolute shield trembled and began to crack.
Words were stuck on his throat as his mind rumbled from the easy death of his Innate Beast.
The butterfly swayed and died a moment later, following in the footsteps of the gorilla.
None of the other assassins knew what had happened yet.
Everything was too sudden, even for their leader.
He expected a bitter battle to commence, not something like this.
His absolute shield broke apart like fragile glass.
He dropped and knelt to the ground; his mind was ringing as though there was thunder rumbling inside it, and he still could not believe what had happened.
"It’s getting boring; help the others. They should have already learned and experienced enough for now," Miguel appeared right beside Edith and said.
Edith nodded her head as her figure flashed and appeared around to help the others.
Meanwhile, Miguel casted the [Barrier of Concealment] and began to ask him questions.
With the death of his beasts, his mind has already been rattled. It was very easy for Miguel to manipulate him to his will, making him answer the questions one after the other truthfully.
After he was done, he killed him without remorse as he looked around the surroundings that had already become silent.
It seems that Edith dealt with the threats as fast as she could.
She also flashed by Miguel’s side and acted as though nothing had happened.
However, at this moment, the Red Devils looked over with a confused look on their faces.
’What’s going on?’
’Aren’t we supposed to be the protector and the savior?’
’How did we end up getting protected and saved instead?’
Even Albert had the same confused expression on his face as he stared at ’Journey’ and Edith.
