I Can Contract Beauties - Chapter 115: Storage Space
He did not expect them to be this strong at all.
It was only now that he realized that Edith was actually ’Journey’s’ Innate Beast as well.
He looked around and saw that the battle had been concluded just like that.
Earlier, Edith appeared and helped his tiger win the battle. Each move of hers did not contain any skills and was just a normal attack. However, she still managed to defeat all the opponent beasts with just one strike, signifying the vast difference in strength.
Although she was not emitting a King Beast aura, Albert knew for a fact that she was a Gold Grade Beast.
All of a sudden, he did not know how to talk with them at all.
Recalling their boastful words, as well as them neglecting Journey and Edith, he wondered if they were somehow dissatisfied with the Red Devils performance.
Meanwhile, as soon as Edith appeared in front of Miguel, she immediately handed him five bronze-grade grimoires.
She was obviously surprised by this kind of development as well.
As far as she knows from her previous life, every time a summoner dies, their grimoire just dissipates into thin air, just like their Innate Beasts.
If a non-Innate Beast was summoned when the user died, they would escape the contract and would be free once more. Depending on their loyalty, they can either flee the battle and escape or fight back to avenge their previous master.
However, Edith had never heard of grimoires staying in the real world after their owners died.
When Miguel told her to collect the grimoires, she actually did not expect them to be real.
She handed the five bronze grimoires to Miguel with a curious gaze.
Just like dual cultivation, this development was novel to her even when she had lived more than a hundred years before dying.
Miguel patted her head with a smile and said, "I’ll let you see later."
He then waved his hands and stored the five bronze-grade grimoires inside his now-silver-grade jet-black grimoire, which had hidden itself inside his Inner World all this while.
All grimoires actually have the ability to hide themselves automatically; however, this consumes energy and requires focus. And even though they had hidden themselves, they were still in a state of being summoned.
Low-level summoners don’t have enough control over their grimoire to do this kind of thing yet; even Elite Rank Summoners won’t be able to do such a thing normally due to the massive energy it requires to summon a grimoire for a continuous period of time.
Heck, it’s already hard for them to summon their grimoire; how much more if they let their grimoire stay in a state of being summoned for a long time?
Anyway, Miguel sensed that the five grimoires were now being stored inside his jet-black grimoire, along with the Silver Grade Grimoire he obtained after killing the assassin leader earlier.
This function of a Silver Grade Grimoire actually interests Miguel quite a bit. It made him recall the Storage Rings that existed back in the Immortal Cultivation World.
Forged from Space Stones and other rare materials, most of the high-level cultivators had such a treasure on them.
It was a very convenient treasure and could store all the cultivators’ belongings. The storage space inside also varies from time to time. The smallest space Miguel heard of was just 10 cubic meters of available space.
However, even that was already pretty valuable from where he originally came from, and three clans even fought over it intensely.
As for the space inside his grimoire, Miguel did not know the exact details, but he knew that it was actually quite massive.
According to his estimate, there should be at least 5,000 cubic meters of available space inside his grimoire for now.
The demonized beast’s corpses, his belongings that he retrieved, and the grimoires were now stored inside this space. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
(Note: 5,000 cubic meters isn’t that big compared to how massive their world is. It’s just 50x10x10 meters. In most cultivation novels I’ve read before, even 10 cubic meters is already a big deal, but in truth, it’s just a very small space; it’s not 10x10x10 meters. 10 cubic meters is just hardly the same size as a sedan car. Correct me if I’m wrong, though.)
This available space was just the space he managed to unlock automatically after the grimoire was promoted to Silver Grade. He guessed that as the grimoire grows, the space inside will grow as well.
It was not a wonder why having a grimoire would arouse envy in martial artists. After all, who would not want a treasure that can store their belongings and ignore the weight of what was stored inside?
Miguel began to look forward to the day that he would unlock all the available space inside the grimoire. Would it be as big as his storage space from his previous life?
On the other hand, Miguel could feel the desire of the jet-black grimoire to consume all of the now-stored Bronze and Silver Grade Grimoire. However, Miguel told it to hold back for now, as he knew this was not the time to do it yet.
He told it to hide inside his Inner World once more as he went over to the group, which had now gathered all the corpses of the assailants as they treated their wounds.
"Mr. Journey, I think I know who these guys are." Albert suddenly came up to him when he saw him approaching.
"Oh?" Miguel tilted his head, indicating that he should continue.
Although he already knew most of the information from the interrogation earlier, he still wanted to hear more from Albert in case he missed something.
Hearing that he was interested, Albert nodded his head and began to explain.
"I think they are from an assassin group called Dark Snakes. One of their characteristics is the snake mark at the top of their hand as well as their black tight clothes. They are based in Blazing City and are very active."
"I don’t know who hired them, but they seemed to be after Ms. Erika here. I assumed that whoever hired them should have a certain connection to the bandits that held them captive before. "
Miguel nodded his head and stated, "Good speculation. You are correct on the most part, except for the last one, that is."
"It’s actually not the bandit’s who hired them, but a different group. It’s very surprising, actually."
