A thunderous croak escaped the toad’s mouth the moment it opened its blood-red eyes.

The moment its eyes focused on Miguel, its mouth immediately opened widely, as a dark-red tongue slithered out of it like a snake. The tongue was sharp and fast. It traveled at extreme speed and was moving towards Miguel without pause.

The moment he saw that, Miguel’s heart beat widely in nervousness.

The tongue was very fast.

His eyes wide open in disbelief, Miguel quickly reacted and used [Earth Escape] to burrow underground in swift speed, narrowly avoiding the toad’s tongue in the last breadth.

Boom!

The area he was in previously was decimated as the toad’s tongue landed on the ground.

If Miguel had not avoided it in time, he would surely be smashed into a meat paste from that attack alone.

It was apparent that this toad was very strong.

In fact, Miguel knew of this toad’s name from his time at Red-Cliff City.

This toad was actually very famous. It was called the Luminous Giant Toad.

It was rumored to be a Level 3 Silver Grade Beast. It was bigger than a carriage and its body would glow softly in the dark, attracting small prey for it to consume peacefully.

Unlike other beasts, this Luminous Giant Toad was actually very friendly. It only eats small insect beasts that wander its territory and would usually not bother with any mercenary even if they come close to it.

It doesn’t attack mercenaries as long as they don’t provoke it and it even has a good reputation and earned the nickname as the Guide Toad due to its luminous characteristics.

It was said that when one was lost in this part of the forest, they should simply follow the glow of the Guide Toad, and they would eventually reach the creek where they could then easily navigate towards safety.

Due to this reputation, no one would find trouble with this toad and some would even offer it small insect beasts to thank it for guiding them during the night.

"How did it become a demonic beast?" Emerging from the ground a dozen meters, Miguel looked at the toad with worry in his eyes. The jet-black grimoire was instantly summoned as Aaliyah appeared behind him with an imposing aura befitting that of a Gold Grade Beast.

Normally, with Aaliyah, Miguel would have worried about a Level 3 Silver Grade Beast. However, this Luminous Giant Toad has already become demonized, meaning, its strength has now more than doubled.

Even though it was just at Level 3 Silver Grade at this moment, Miguel knew that it was even more stronger than the Level 4 Silver Grade Volcanic Wyrm that he had defeated before.

At his back, even Aaliyah had a frown on her face as she looked at the Demonized Luminous Giant Toad.

"It’s very strong..." She muttered to herself as fire arrows and fireballs materialized out of thin air around her.

Miguel nodded his head in affirmation. This would probably become the hardest fight he encountered so far upon transmigrating to this world.

"We can’t get careless. Let’s give everything we got," he said, in which Aaliyah replied with a simple nod of her head.

As the two of them prepared for the upcoming battle, the Luminous Giant Toad also retracted its long tongue as it slowly emerged from the ground, its whole body finally coming into view.

There were various wounds on its body, including the claw marks on its eyelids. It was apparent that it had just experienced a massive battle prior to its encounter with Miguel.

The Luminous Giant Toad was pretty aggressive. As expected of a demonized beast.

To change the gentle Luminous Giant Toad’s temperament to that of an aggressive one, being demonized was simply the horror to both beasts and humans alike.

The Luminous Giant Toad was simply no longer the Guide Toad that had helped the lost humans before. It had now transformed into a ferocious demonic beast.

Without waiting for the Luminous Giant Toad to attack, Miguel and Aaliyah moved in sync and decided to attack first.

Aaliyah fired a barrage of fire arrows and fireballs towards the Luminous Giant Toad.

In response, the Luminous Giant Toad simply slapped the ground with its webbed right foot. The ground trembled as balls of mud rose right beside it.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Like arrows being knocked off a bow, the balls of mud the size of a fist traveled at extreme speed to meet the valley of arrows and fireballs.

Multiple explosions ensued as two attacks of different attributes met in the middle.

Mist billowed as fire and dried mud splattered in the surroundings. The mud ball of this Silver Grade Toad actually managed to neutralize Aaliyah’s Incinerating Fire.

Not only that, as the mist settled down, multiple swooshing sound still entered Miguel and Aaliyah’s eas.

Hearing that, Miguel and Aaliya did not waste any time as both of them casted [Flame Jump] almost at the same time.

Miguel appeared at a fire a few meters away from their current location, while Aaliyah appeared directly at the small fire behind the Luminous Giant Toad.

Skills vary in power depending on the level and grade of who casted it.

Miguel’s Level 1 [Flame Jump] might only be able to cover ten meters at most, while Aaliyah’s Level 1 [Flame Jump] should be able to travel more than twenty meters in one go.

On the other hand, the area they were in previously was decimated by the toad’s mud ball attacks. The massive tree at the edge of the creek was even pierced through by the mud ball directly. At its back, Aaliyah extended her two hands together and aimed it at the Luminous Giant Toad’s broad back, preparing to attack with an all-powered [Incinerating Beam].

However, right at that moment, the whole body of the Luminous Giant Toad suddenly glowed in a blinding light.
