I Can Contract Beauties - Chapter 69: At The Creek
Miguel made the Meadow Hare into the most delicious dish he could think of... roasted meat.
After enjoying the meal, Miguel continued walking forward.
The Meadow Hare was a small beast, and most of it could only be used as a cooking ingredient unlike the Volcanic Wyrm’s horn that can be forged into a sword, or it’s scale that can be made into an armor or the mask that he made yesterday.
Knowing that, Miguel simply threw the Meadow Hare’s other parts and just focused on its hide as well as its meat that he had already consumed earlier.
As for the hide, Miguel scraped the meat out of it and planned to use it as his change of clothes later.
The clothes that Sara bought for him were confiscated by the bandits. This was also part of the reason why he wanted to pursue those bandits. Those were clothes specially bought by Sara for him, how could he allow them to take it away just like that?
When Miguel was about to leave the area, he suddenly noticed a rustle from the distance. After taking a look, he realized that it was actually another Meadow Hare, but it was much bigger than the last.
It came at him pretty aggressively so Miguel killed it without hesitation.

He skinned it skillfully and scraped all the meat from the hide, planning to use it together with the one he got earlier. As for its meat, Miguel decided to bring it along so that he could consume it later.
Miguel finally felt the thirst a while later. He recalled the map he obtained from Red Cliff City before and recalled that there should be a creek a few kilometers away at the west of the Ghost Wail Mountain.
After confirming his current location, Miguel turned to his right and began walking there for now. He could endure a few hours without water, but he knew that he would be dried up if he did not consume the right amount of water in a few days with his current body. Drinking blood was simply not enough and he needed to take a bath as well as the filth from the cleansing had stuck to his body at this moment. He wanted to find that creek and wash his body there.
Fortunately, Miguel did not encounter any more beast or demonic beast this time around. He only successfully reached the creek more than two hours later as he did not hurry due to his unfamiliarity with the area.
The creek was only a few meters in width and was just at least two feet in depth. The sound of flowing water entered his ears, getting louder he walked forward. He quickened his pace as he arrived at the side of the pristine creek. Its crystal-clear waters meandered gracefully through the mossy rocks and pebbles that lined its banks. The creek was adorned with delicate water lilies and vibrant ferns, adding a touch of serenity to the scene.
He knelt down by the water’s edge, running his fingers through the cool, clear liquid. The creek’s gentle murmur filled his ears, and the tranquil surroundings enveloped him like a comforting embrace.
Upon observing that the creek was safe and devoid of any beast around, Miguel did not waste anymore time as he immediately drank a mouthful of the crystal-clear water, filling his mouth with a single scoop from his hands.
After satiating himself, he washed the two top quality hides of the two Meadow Hare he previously killed as well as the meat of the Level 2 one. Setting it aside to dry in the sun, he dipped himself on the running water, scrubbing off the filth that had stuck to his body after the cleansing.
The water became muddy for a few seconds before it was replaced with new clear flowing water.
After he was done cleaning his body off, Miguel felt refreshed for the first time in a while. He took the small Meadow Hare hide and sliced a piece at the corner of it, making it into the strap for his makeshift mask made of the Volcanic Wyrm’s scale.
He then used the remaining as a water storage bag.
Due to how well he managed to scrape the meat out of it, it doesn’t have any holes and could store the water very well. He fills it up with the crystal clear water from the creek for his consumption for the journey.
On the other hand, the bigger Meadow Hare hide was used as a breastplate of some sort. Of course, he knew that this has little to no defense if met with a strong beast but having something like this covering his chest was still better than nothing.
After he was done with this little preparation, Miguel wore the Volcanic Wyrm Mask as he walked upstream.
From what he recalled, if one followed this creek upwards, they would eventually arrive at the foot of Ghost Wail Mountain.
This was also the reason why Miguel decided to come to this creek. Aside from needing to wash himself and having a drink, he could also easily follow the creek and arrive at Ghost Wail Mountain with a clear direction.
With that being said, Miguel walked upstream with the [Divine Sense] fully active.
An hour later, Miguel decided to stop and rest beneath a tree. The sun was very hot and he was sweating a lot. He was also a little hungry so he decided to stop and eat lunch for the time being.
As usual, he made his favorite dish... roasted meat.
After he was done eating, Miguel decided to cultivate his second drop of Origin Energy for the day. This time, it took him just around fifty minutes to successfully refine one drop. There was now a total of 2 drops of Origin Energy inside his Inner World, floating right above the jet-black grimoire.
After he finished helping the grimoire replenish some of its energy reserve, Miguel stood up and prepared to continue on his journey towards Ghost Wail Mountain.
The sun was still high and the temperature was still very hot. The water continued to flow downstream, bringing them some of the sun’s heat away.
As he walked forward for a few minutes, Miguel actually encountered another beast.
This time, it was not as simple as the previous ones.
Lying beside the edge of the creek, half of its body was buried underneath the soft soil. Blood was all over its face, both its eyes were closed and looked badly damaged and had some claw marks on it.
Upon a closer look, Miguel realized that it was a pretty massive frog.
Miguel thought that this massive frog was already dead. He walked forward and prepared to take a closer look at it.
However, at this moment, the frog’s eyes suddenly snapped open. Its slitted pupil constricted as it directly looked at Miguel, shocking him a lot.
What was even more surprising was that its eyes were actually blood red.
It was actually a demonized beast!
