Chapter 87: The White Catastrophe

{Ding!! Detecting a new Terra Beast!!}

Element: Dark}

Raiden looked at the egg in front of him in confusion.

What is this bullshit?!?!

He counted on this stupid system to pick the correct Terran, but what the hell is this?! This little information, it might as well have been a blank statement.

"You like that egg?? Are you choosing this one?" Tina inquired after she saw him standing in front of the egg for too long.

This snapped Raiden out of his trance as he shook his head.

"Sorry, it’s just I’ve never seen an egg like this, so I was curious." Raiden tapped the pitch-black egg in front of him that looked like it was sucking light from the surroundings.

"Do you want to check out another one?" Tina asked.

"Yes, I do." Raiden nodded before walking forward and touching another egg, earthly brown in colour.

Element: Earth}

Seeing this, Raiden realised that there was a difference between the two Terra Beasts even at the same level.

So he quickly started touching all the eggs and started touching them one by one, seeing their potential one after another.

It was the 17 th egg he touched that he finally saw something different for the first time.

{Ding!! Detecting a new Terra Beast!!}

{Name: ????

Potential: Ex

Element: Dark-Fire}

It was the same egg that attracted his attention first when he came here.

"Oh, have you taken a liking to that one?" Tina asked with wonder in her voice,

"Do you know about it?" Raiden asked.

"Heh, I may know about it. I may not know about it. Either way, I can’t really tell you anything. It’s a test for yourself." Tina smiled as she answered him, making Raiden scowl.

He looked torn. He had already gone through almost two-thirds of the eggs, and it was the strongest one he had seen. But from the elements and the vibe it was giving off, this Terra Beast was definitely going to be a fighter type.

But he already had one battle junkie in his team by the name of Woolie. He didn’t want to get another one. So he skipped it after thinking for a while.

"Woolie Woolie Woo!!" Human, human!! Come here fast!! I have a good feeling about this one. Pick this one!! ( •̀ ω •́ ) y

Hearing Woolie calling him out, Raiden lifted his head and walked towards Woolie curiously.

He finally came to stop in front of the egg Woolie had picked.

"What cha got here, buddy?"

It has a crystal clear silvery white shell outside it, which glittered on the surface if you looked closely at it. Its surface was marred by a pattern and spots of pink and purple, forming a distinct pattern that was different from anything.

The egg gave off a warm and comforting feeling, and looked very unassuming in every way.

Looking at the second EX potential for the day, Raiden felt shocked. He had to admit Woolie was better at picking eggs than him.

" Are you choosing that?" Tina asked. Her quivering voice betraying her nervousness.

But Raiden was too busy studying the egg to notice it. The more he looked at it, the more he liked it.

He had two options. First was the Dark Fire Egg, while the second one was an egg of a light-type beast. It was clear who was the peaceful one out of the two.

He already had a Battle Junkie; it was just nice to get someone with a light element who could heal his soul and finally let him rest easy.

"Yes. I have decided. I want this one." Raiden spoke with certainty.

"Are you sure?" Tina asked in a small voice.

"Yes, I am sure. From its looks, it seems to be a peaceful light-type beast. I am sure it will fit right in with me," Raiden answered in confidence, missing the weird look on Tina’s face or the twitch of her eyebrows when he said peaceful.

"Are you really sure you want this one?" Tiny asked for confirmation once again, her voice full of warnings.

"Yes, I am sure. Why?... Is there something wrong with this egg??"

"Wrong? There is nothing wrong with it!! Nothing at all!!" Tina waved her hands wildly, trying to hide the panic she felt on the inside.

"Since you picked it up, it’s yours now. Remember, you can’t change your mind later, and there are no take-backs!!" Tina warned before she completed the procedure in the blink of an eye and handed him the Terran egg in an incubator even before he could fathom what had just occurred.

"Alright, off you go now. Bye Bye!!" She waved her hands smilingly at Raiden while pushing him out of the warehouse, whose door lifted up automatically when they approached it.

"I am sure you know the way back. Have safe travels. Don’t wander around randomly, or you will end up dead. Bye-bye now."

Seeing her suspicious behaviour, no matter how dumb or obvious Raiden may be, he understood there was something wrong with the egg.

"Wait, I—"

Bang!!

The big metal gate slammed on the face of Raiden, who was in the middle of asking his question.

Seeing the big wooden door that couldn’t be budged, he let out a sigh in resignation.

"Oh well, it’s just a normal Terran, maybe slightly stronger than others. How hard can it be to raise it together, right, Woolie?"

"Woolie!!" Leave it to me, I will raise it by myself and let it become strong!!

ヽ(≧w≦)ノ

Woolie patted his chest with confidence, but once again failed to do so.

"Alright, enough chitchat, let’s go home, Woolie. I can’t believe I am saying this, but I am missing Sylvia by now..

Raiden picked Woolie by one hand, and put him on top of his head, while clutching the egg with the other hand and walking towards the exit.

Inside the Egg Warehouse A 2

"Hello, yes, the last contestant left after picking the egg. Yes, yes, I know that’s not worth a phone call, but what if I told you someone took the egg of ’The White Catastrophe’?"

"What?!?!" The guy on the other side of the phone stood up and screamed on the phone.

"Are you kidding me?? It’s the most underrated-looking and hidden among the various cool-looking eggs. I even put another Nuclear Level Egg in the prize list to attract attention away from it. How the hell did someone still end up picking it up?" The man questioned in disbelief.

"Oh? Do you think I am lying about it?" Tina asked with anger in her tone.

"No, no, no. I know you will not joke about something so serious. It’s just that, it’s The White catastrophe, ya know. THE WHITE CATASTROPHY."

The man rubbed off the sweat that formed on his forehead when he just thought about it.

There are hundreds of Mythical Tier Beasts that the Alliance has faced so far in their plans to reclaim the wilderness for the humans.

Some of them were giant Apex beasts, while others were prehistoric creatures. There were all kinds of different Terra Beasts that the Alliance had faced so far while reclaiming the wildlands.

But none of them was ever as destructive or chaotic or strong as The White Catastrophy.

When they faced it for the first time, it wiped out the whole team of explorers as easily as picking flies, which were filled to the brim with multiple Diamond Tier and Three Mythical Tier experts.

It wouldn’t have mattered if it stopped there. But no.

It invaded the human territory alone and wreaked so much havoc and killed so many people in just 3 years that it undid the efforts they had made in 50 years.

It took the combined efforts of 12 Mythical Battle Masters and the Alliance Head to bring it down. Even then, it took 3 more Mythical Battle Masters down with it.

It was undoubtedly known as the strongest Mythical Tier beast known in human history, bar none.

Hell, its power level alone qualified for being a Nuclear-level Terra Beast.

Its egg has been sealed away for the past 10 years deep inside the Alliance headquarters, considered too dangerous to give to anyone.

But who knows what happened to the Alliance Head? He gave the order to bring it out and let the winners of this year’s Intercity competition.

Even a fierce debate erupted over it, with a lot of people claiming that it should be given to one of the stars, Diamond Battle Masters or Mythical ones, claiming it will increase the power by a lot.

But Alliance Head overruled all the objections by force and forcefully sent the egg into the compendium to be picked.

People had no idea what he was thinking, but no one dared to question it.

Meanwhile, Raiden was cheerfully walking home with the egg in his hands, having no idea about its true value or the chaos it was bringing into his life.
