Chapter 88: Getting Back Home

Raiden slowly got out of the black car that dropped him off and took a deep breath before exhaling softly.

Looking at the green hills and peaceful meadows where the Terra Beasts were playing, it looked like a safe sanctuary, away from the hustle and bustle of the world, left untouched by nature.

"Woolie!!!" Everyone!!! Your Emperor Woolie is back from his conquest!!!

Raiden’s musings were burst open as Woolie jumped down from the top of his head and started running wildly in the plains, eager to see its minions again.

Raiden gave a resigned sigh before walking behind him slowly, with the egg incubator in his hands. Looking at it, he remembered the warning Isadora gave him before leaving,

Flashback!

"I am warning you now, Raiden. The egg you are holding right now is undoubtedly very expensive and worth a lot. And there are going to be people who will come after you." Isadora looked at him with a serious expression on her face.

"So I have two options for you.

Option One: You stay at the Alliance headquarters until it hatches and bonds with you. Once that happens, no one can separate it from you, even in death. Once a Terra Beast bonds with someone, it is stuck for life. Even if you kill its Battle Master or BM, you can’t really take it for yourself. You will be completely safe inside the headquarters.

Option Two: You will go home, and we will send someone to protect you until the egg hatches. Now, mind you, this protection will be limited, and we will not send our strongest BM’s for you. But if anything happens to you, or the egg goes missing, the whole Alliance will be after the person who did you. So that way, even if you die, there will be someone to avenge you~" Isadora laughed like she cracked the funniest joke in the world, but Raiden’s face had anything but laughter.

"So, choose now, Champion. What will it be? Will you stay here or will you go home?? I will personally suggest staying here, that way we can see each other more often." She threw a wink at Raiden, which made him completely shudder.

After shaking off the memories of the training days and swearing to take revenge in the future, Raiden answered: "I choose..."

Flashback End!

Looking at the peaceful environment, Raiden felt he had chosen correctly.

There was a lot of work to do. He needed to upgrade his Terra Beasts. Expand the farm. Plant More Trees. Harvest Berries. Get more Woollies to meet the growing demand of Sarah and Woolie Textiles. Train more, earn more money. Pay back the debt. Hatch the egg. Take care of his little sister.

Overall, there was a lot to do. But no matter what happened to him, he knew he would be okay.

"Brother, you are back!!" Sylvia came running straight towards him from the house, and she jumped straight into his arms while laughing.

"Hehehe, my dear little sister. Did you miss me?" Raiden asked as he rubbed his head and looked behind her at the source of his confidence. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Trailing along was a crimson coloured python that gave off the feeling of being dominant naturally. She slowly moved towards Raiden and patted his head with her tail.

"Humph! Who missed you?! I missed Woolie. By the way, where is he?? Also, is this the egg you have won from the competition?? It doesn’t look very special." Sylvia asked as she looked curiously at the white coloured egg in the incubator.

"Welcome back Rai Rai~ I watched the entiree competition with littlee Sylviii~ You did goodd." Ruby said as she patted his head.

She was feeling very proud of his achievements. Her family’s little runt, who only knew how to run around naked, was growing up and taking care of the whole family.

"Hehe, thank you, Aunt Ruby. It’s all Woolie’s credit. I didn’t do much, to be honest. By the way, do you know what Terra Beast this egg is from?? Apparently, this is from some unknown Mythical Terra Beast." Raiden held up the egg to show her, hoping to get some insights.

"Oh?" A curious look appeared in Ruby’s eyes after she heard it was from a Mythical Beast. She coiled around Raiden and peered closely at the egg.

"Strangee, very strangee. This givess mee a familarr feeling. I just don’t know from wheree~" Ruby replied as she studied the egg closely.

"Apparently, it’s an egg of some peaceful light element beast!! I thought it could complement Woolie very well!" Raiden said cheerfully.

Hissss!!~

A shocked feeling appeared in Ruby’s heart as she hissed loudly. She couldn’t tell the shock she was feeling when she saw the egg.

"They gave you thiss?? I can’t believee they let someone walk away with itss egg." Ruby muttered in shock as she looked at the egg more carefully. The more she looked, the more sure she became of herself and where this feeling came from. It was undoubtedly the same feeling that the hateful one gave off when she lived in the wilds.

"Oh, you know about it, Auntie? Tell me, which Terran is this egg from?? I know it’s going to be a very happy and peace-loving Terra Beast!!"

A weird look appeared in Ruby’s eyes as she heard the words peace-loving. She looked at Raiden with pity and didn’t say anything, just petting his head with her tail.

"Raise this little one welll. I have a feeling it will be very useful to you in the futuree..." Ruby left him alone with Sylvia, as she slithered back to the farm, probably going to check on Woolie.

"By the way, what are you going to do next?? Are you going to join the Archon University?" Sylvia asked, her eyes wide with expectation.

"Hahh?!" A look of utter disgust appeared on Raiden’s face, and he looked as if he had heard the most absurd question in the world.

"Don’t joke like that. I studied till now, isn’t that enough? Only an utter maniac will go to university to study and suffer even further. I have a farm to run, a little sister to raise and live my leisurely life, do you understand?? I am not going to any bullshit university." Raiden waved his hand in disgust, clearly not interested in discussing this further.

"Big brother..." Sylvia’s eyes watered up a little as she looked at his silhouette. He had become so much thinner than before. She knew he had sacrificed his career and became focused on earning money just so she could have a better life.

Sylvia silently vowed to work even harder in the future as she looked at her big brother, who was walking ahead while humming a tune, and looking all happy while hiding his pain inside of him.

"He wanted to be the very best, like no one ever was~ To catch them, was real test, and to train them is my cause~" Raiden felt happy as he hummed along the road.

If he knew Sylvia’s real thoughts, he wouldn’t have known whether to laugh or cry.

Raiden:???

’Little sister, stop thinking so much!! Who are you calling thin?? These are muscles, Muscles, okay?! Forget losing weight, in fact, I have gained weight, I am 130 kgs right now!! As for university, I genuinely don’t want to study, okay? I want to lie down and become a salted fish and just sunbathe all day. I love this kind of life.’

But alas, he was too busy walking ahead and planning his future as he pulled out his cell phone to make a call.

"Maple!! How have you been?! Haha, thank you, thank you for your wishes. It wasn’t that hard. Just a small-time competition. Listen, I want to buy more Woolie’s from you. You are selling the wool to Sarah and Woolie Textiles right now, right? How many Woolie’s do you think I will require??"

"What?! A hundred more Woolie’s?!! Are you really sure?! You know what, fine!! Send me those hundred Woolie’s!! Better give me a discount like last time due to bulk purchase, ya know. I want their food for a month as well."

"Oh, are you asking about the drafted loan from before? Aahahah, I can’t really hear you properly now. You know, talking about money hurts our friendship. Let’s talk about something else. Hello, hello?? I can’t really hear you, hello???" Raiden promptly cut the call before letting out a sigh.

"A hundred Woolie’s, including their cost and food. If I include all the other money I require for Woolie’s better diet and Aunt Ruby’s diet, and other stuff, my whole prize money is gone???? What in the flying fuc—" Raiden cursed out loudly.

He had just gotten his hands on the money, and he lost all 5 million dollars even before it warmed his hands?? What kind of life is this??

Raiden felt like cursing the whole nine generations of this capitalist society.

"It’s okay, it’s fine. It’s all an investment in the futures. Yes, it’s an investment in my future." He convinced himself, before he started moving towards his home.

He had a much more important thing to do first, the most important thing of all.

He needed to advance to a Silver Battle Master.
