Tristan Lawson reacted quickly. As the golf club came down, he raised a hand to block it.

Wyatt Yates was a seasoned fighter. Seeing Tristan Lawson’s move, he swiftly pulled the club back and swung it from the side.

However, Tristan Lawson was also incredibly skilled. With a swift turn, he intercepted Wyatt Yates’s attack.

Wyatt Yates’s eyes were bloodshot, rage burning in his chest. He hadn’t given up after missing once and continued to swing the club in his hands.

Now, Tristan Lawson was fully prepared to fight back.

Two prominent, well-respected men had begun to brawl right at the entrance of the Lawson Group.

When Noelle Sutton and Hugo Sterling arrived, she saw Wyatt Yates fighting Tristan Lawson through the car window.

’I was right!’

Hugo Sterling, of course, noticed it too.

Wyatt Yates was armed with a golf club, but even with a weapon, he couldn’t gain the upper hand against Tristan Lawson.

Tristan Lawson had trained professionally while studying abroad.

While he was still parking the car, Noelle Sutton unbuckled her seatbelt.

The moment the car came to a stop, Noelle Sutton threw open the door and rushed out.

’I can’t let Wyatt fight Tristan.’

’Wyatt is one of the few friends I have. If this continues, he’ll only face Tristan’s retaliation, and it’s just not worth it.’

Wyatt’s back was to Noelle, so he didn’t see her approach. Tristan, however, was facing her. When he saw her rushing over with a panicked expression, his gaze faltered for an instant.

Wyatt seized the opportunity of Tristan’s momentary distraction, swinging the club down toward his right side.

Seeing this, Noelle rushed forward to stop him.

Tristan sensed the club about to connect and reacted instantly. But just as he was about to dodge, Noelle was there...

When Wyatt saw Noelle, it was already too late to pull back the force of his swing.

Tristan suddenly changed his movement. He took a stride forward, turned, and shielded Noelle with his body.

The golf club slammed heavily into Tristan’s back.

The sound of the impact on flesh, mingled with Tristan’s pained grunt, pierced Noelle’s eardrums.

Wyatt’s hands trembled. He had come to find Tristan to stand up for The Little Mute.

’I almost hit The Little Mute.’

’And I used all my strength!’

’It’s one thing to hit a man, but if that had hit The Little Mute...’

Wyatt instantly dropped the club, rushed forward, and pulled Noelle over.

He put some distance between her and Tristan.

Tristan’s thin, sharp lips were pressed into a tight line as he watched the scene before him with cold eyes.

Hugo Sterling hurried over. As Tristan’s friend, he was the first to support his arm. "Tristan, are you hurt?"

Hugo had seen the force of that last blow. It had been seriously powerful.

One could only imagine the sheer rage Wyatt had poured into that swing. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Noelle’s goal had been to stop Wyatt, so she didn’t even spare Tristan a glance. She pulled away from Wyatt’s embrace and began to sign, her movements sharp with anxiety and anger. "How could you be so reckless! I called you and messaged you, but I still couldn’t stop you! Do you have any idea what you’re doing? This will only make things worse between him and me! I thought you had changed when we met again, but I guess you still love to fight!"

Every single one of Noelle’s signs was a sharp reprimand aimed at Wyatt.

Tristan could also understand Noelle’s sign language. He knew it all stemmed from concern.

Only Hugo stood there, completely lost, with no idea what Noelle was saying to Wyatt.

But Noelle’s intervention did nothing to quell Wyatt’s anger.

’The things Tristan had done to Noelle were despicable.’

’The Little Mute can’t speak, and all of her family is gone. Her life is already hard enough.’

’She must have married Tristan because she loved him.’

’And look at how he treats her.’

Whenever Wyatt imagined the countless nights The Little Mute must have spent crying, endlessly hurt by Tristan, his heart ached uncontrollably. He felt a burning desire to stab Tristan, but even that wouldn’t be enough to satisfy his rage.

Still, he knew The Little Mute was worried, so he reined in his surging hostility.

"I’m sorry. I was too impulsive."

Tristan pulled his arm from Hugo’s grasp and started walking toward the Lawson Group building.

’I don’t want to see her right now.’

"Tristan..."

Hugo followed him inside.

Wyatt glanced after them, then looked down at Noelle and said, "Let’s go."

’I don’t want her staying here any longer.’

’What kind of attitude was that from Tristan?’

’He puts on a show of protecting Noelle, then just walks off without a single word.’

Noelle had even less desire to linger outside the Lawson Group building. She picked up the discarded golf club and walked back to the car with Wyatt.

’I really need to talk some sense into Wyatt.’

Tristan walked into the Lawson Group building and headed straight for the first-floor restroom.

He walked over to the counter, braced his hands on it, and spat a mouthful of blood into the sink.

Hugo walked in just in time to see Tristan spitting blood. His eyes widened in shock. "Wyatt’s swing was way too hard!"

It was enough to make Tristan spit up blood.

’No wonder Tristan’s lips were pressed so tightly together and he didn’t say a word.’

Tristan turned on the faucet, and the blood was quickly washed away. He cupped some water, rinsed his mouth, and then shot a cold look at Hugo. "The three of you were together, weren’t you?"

’As expected. Nothing gets past Tristan’s eyes.’

Hugo deliberately changed the subject, his face etched with worry. "You’re spitting up blood. You must have internal injuries. I’ll take you to the hospital for a check-up. This could be serious if there’s internal bleeding."

"Why were you all together?"

Hugo’s attempt to change the subject only made Tristan more certain that the three of them had been together earlier.

"So, are you going to get checked out or not? This looks dangerous. Don’t wait until it develops into a bigger problem."

Hugo said, feigning a casual tone.

But Tristan completely ignored him, his tone as cold and hard as steel. "I’ve told you before, don’t interfere in matters between her and me. I don’t want to have to say it a third time."

This was his second time warning Hugo.

Hugo immediately broke into a smile. "I just met with her. What are you so nervous about? Afraid she’s going to divorce you?"

Tristan snorted. "If I don’t agree, how could she possibly divorce me?"

"Don’t be so sure. I heard a lawyer say there’s no such thing as a divorce you can’t get. Tristan, I saw what happened out there. You could have dodged Wyatt’s swing, but you took the full force of it to protect Noelle. If you care about her, you should treat her better. You’ve seen it for yourself—she has plenty of people who want to treat her well."

"Does that include you?"

Tristan retorted.

Hugo’s expression stiffened, and he answered in a fluster, "What are you talking about?"

Tristan’s eyes darkened. "You know perfectly well what I’m talking about."

’It was one thing for other men to covet his wife. But Hugo, his friend since childhood, actually had the nerve to eye his wife as well.’

’Every last one of them. Do they think I’m just going to stand by and watch?’
