Sophie Hughes suddenly stood up, ready to find Tristan Lawson.

She had a feeling what Adrian Grant said was about Tristan Lawson and Noelle Sutton.

"Sophie, what are you doing?"

Kyle Sawyer got up with her.

"I’m going to find Tristan. Tristan and Noelle have been at odds recently, and I’m worried they’ll fight."

"Don’t overthink it. That woman is dispensable to Tristan. Who would bother arguing with a woman they actually care about? It’s pointless."

"I should still go check. Noelle, she..."

Sophie Hughes trailed off.

Neither Kyle Sawyer nor Adrian Grant had ever met Noelle Sutton; they didn’t even know her name.

Sophie Hughes couldn’t bring herself to mention that Noelle Sutton was mute, lest Tristan find out and get upset.

"What’s wrong with that woman?"

Kyle Sawyer was a little puzzled.

Sophie Hughes looked at Adrian Grant and said, "Adrian, Noelle’s situation is different. A place like The Carmine Club isn’t suitable for her. I know The Carmine Club is your establishment, so can you help look for her? It would be bad if something happened to her inside."

Kyle Sawyer said with a distinct lack of interest, "Sophie, you’re just too kind. That woman stole your Tristan, yet you’re still worried about her. She’d probably be very unhappy to see you."

"Kyle, let’s not talk about that right now. Finding Noelle is the priority. It’s impossible between Tristan and me. Others might not know that, but you do, don’t you?"

Kyle Sawyer had no choice but to jut his chin at Adrian Grant. "Let’s go, Adrian. Let’s go find her."

Only then did Adrian Grant slowly put down his wine glass.

The three of them headed toward the private rooms.

Just as they left the main hall, they saw Secretary Shaw standing in front of Tristan Lawson.

"CEO Lawson, I just spoke with Director Chapman of The Carmine Club and checked the surveillance. Mrs. Lawson entered the V888 deluxe suite."

Tristan Lawson strode forward.

"Tristan!"

Sophie Hughes called out from behind him.

Tristan Lawson turned and saw the three of them.

Secretary Shaw stepped aside.

Sophie Hughes hurried over to Tristan Lawson. "Is something wrong with Noelle?"

But Tristan Lawson’s gaze fell on Adrian Grant.

"Who is the guest in V888?"

The message Adrian Grant had just received was from Director Chapman. It said that Tristan Lawson’s secretary had come looking for Mrs. Lawson, and after checking the surveillance, found she had gone to the V888 suite.

"Hugo Sterling. He’s back because of his sister’s situation. He was supposed to meet up with me, said he had to see someone first before coming to find us. The person he was meeting... was your wife?"

Kyle Sawyer asked in confusion, "Neither you nor I know Tristan’s wife, so how would Hugo Sterling know her?"

Adrian Grant shrugged. He didn’t know either.

If Tristan Lawson himself didn’t know what his wife was doing, how could they, as outsiders, possibly know?

Tristan Lawson’s handsome, gentle features grew cold and indistinct, his expression veiled in an unreadable shadow.

They could hardly tell what he was thinking.

Tristan Lawson spoke indifferently, "Since he’s coming to find us later anyway, we might as well go find him directly."

Tristan Lawson turned and walked ahead.

His figure was tall and slender from behind.

Kyle Sawyer sidled up to Adrian Grant, lowering his voice as they walked. "I really feel like we’re about to see a good show."

Adrian Grant scoffed at him. "Didn’t you say Tristan doesn’t care about his insignificant wife? What kind of show could there be?"

"Whether he cares is one thing, but his wife meeting Hugo Sterling here without his knowledge is another. After all, she still carries the title of Mrs. Lawson. And isn’t there some bad blood between Tristan and Hugo Sterling?"

Adrian Grant put a hand on Kyle Sawyer’s shoulder and smiled. "The Sterling Family is looking for someone. Hugo Sterling came today to ask me to pull some strings and get Tristan’s help. As for that bit of bad blood, I’m afraid Hugo has already figured out a way to resolve it. This fire... it might catch, or it might not. It mainly depends on..."

Adrian Grant trailed off.

"Mainly depends on what?"

Kyle, ever the blockhead, didn’t catch on right away.

"On whether Tristan cares about his so-called wife, of course."

Kyle Sawyer laughed. "Then I guess there won’t be any fireworks. And here you were, telling me to ’wait and see.’ I really thought things were about to blow up."

Adrian Grant raised an eyebrow. "Whether they will or not, we’ll know once we go in."

Sophie Hughes overheard Kyle Sawyer and Adrian Grant’s whispering.

’She, too, wanted to know just how important Noelle Sutton was to Tristan Lawson.’

’The incident during the thunderstorm in Cygnus had left her feeling a little uneasy.’

’If, after these seven years, Tristan had truly developed different feelings for Noelle Sutton, she couldn’t wait any longer.’

’That incident had to be exposed as soon as possible.’

’To remove the obstacle between her and Tristan Lawson.’

「The V888 Suite.」

Tristan Lawson pushed the door open.

Hearing the sound, both Hugo Sterling and Noelle Sutton looked up.

Tristan Lawson stood at the door of the suite, noble and elegant. The flickering lights played across his stern, expressionless features, instantly making the air in the room feel much colder and still.

After a moment, he strode inside.

Three more people followed him in.

Aside from Sophie Hughes, Noelle Sutton hadn’t seen the other two men before.

Tristan Lawson, who had entered first, sat down next to Noelle Sutton without any hesitation, leaning lazily against the arm of the sofa.

Seeing him again, Noelle Sutton was reminded of his heartlessness and cruelty, and a suffocating feeling tightened in her chest. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Hugo Sterling said politely, "Tristan, long time no see."

Noelle Sutton’s pupils constricted. ’They knew each other?’

In that instant, her heart sank, and her fingertips, resting on her lap, curled inward.

Hugo Sterling was the person the shop owner had introduced to her last time she went to get her paper-cuttings mounted.

That morning, after discovering that all her bank cards and funds had been frozen by Tristan Lawson, she had refused to compromise with him and contacted the owner of that shop.

The owner, Boss Bishop, had driven her back to her hometown. There, she actually had many of her old paper-cutting works, as well as various samples of ancient paper-cutting techniques that her grandmother had collected when she was alive, and of course, some of her grandmother’s own pieces.

Following Boss Bishop’s suggestion, she selected a few pieces in the style Hugo Sterling was looking for and brought them back.

She was in a hurry to sell them for some cash.

Fortunately, Hugo Sterling was also eager to buy.

She contacted Hugo Sterling, who said he was meeting a client at The Carmine Club until about eight o’clock. Because he was busy and had other urgent matters to attend to after seeing her, he didn’t have time to run around, so he asked her to come find him at The Carmine Club at eight.

Right now, they were in the middle of negotiating the price.

’She never expected Tristan Lawson to know Hugo Sterling. He must be here to stop her again.’

’He wants to drive her to utter ruin!’

Tristan Lawson’s long, narrow eyes were half-closed. The gentle light in them was deceptively piercing, and his calm voice was tinged with displeasure. "It has been a long time. I just didn’t expect that our reunion would start with you angering me."

Hugo Sterling’s lips curved into a smile. He took a file out of the bag behind him and handed it to Tristan Lawson. "The shared power station project. It’s yours."

Kyle Sawyer’s eyes widened. "Brother Hugo, you... you don’t have a fever, do you?"

This project was the very reason Hugo Sterling and Tristan Lawson had their falling-out years ago.

And now Hugo Sterling was simply handing the project over.

Tristan Lawson didn’t take it. His face was cold and grim, and the atmosphere instantly grew tense.
