Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 484: Grateful Beyond Words
Jasmine did not sleep the entire night.
She kept cleaning up the house, no matter Jenny tried to dissuade her.
With the sound coming from the main house, the lights in the entire courtyard were instantly extinguished.
Jasmine tightly gripped the broom in her hand, kept her back straight, and stubbornly swept the ground in the darkness.
Needless to say, they knew who turned off the lights.
Jasmine was not angry, but her eyes became colder and colder.
"Jasmine, it’s too late. Let’s rest first."
Jenny said, feeling embarrassed.
There wasn’t even a bed in the room, how would Jasmine rest?
Jasmine took out all the winter clothes she had brought with her and said softly, "Mom, go to sleep. I’m not sleepy yet."
Jenny was very weak and had to muster all her strength to speak.
For a short while, she fell asleep.
Jasmine sat outside the house, looking at the dark courtyard outside. She did not make a sound.
Obviously, her uncle and aunt turned off the electricity.
She had given them all she earned during the past few years to build up this house.
All her savings became the five tiled houses, but in the end, there was not even a place for her and her mother to stay.
Jenny used to tell her that as long as she studied well and went into university, they would lead a better life.
Now that she did study well and had gone to the best university in City A. Her family had built a new house and she had grown up.
However, their life was not good.
Jasmine’s eyes swept across the courtyard, which was so quiet that it made people feel strange and scared.
This was no longer their home. It had no trace of their life.
She suddenly realized that she had already lost her home.
Jasmine returned to the room and came out with a machete.
It was covered with brown rust and looked dimmer in the darkness.
The moonlight was pale and cold.
She was in a thin sweater and was cold from head to toe.
The coldness soaked into her entire body and gradually took away the sensation of her limbs.
Her heart was also numb. There was no expression on her cold face.
She looked at the closed door and walked straight to it.
Although she seldom came back, all the things in this courtyard were bought by her.
She what they had and which door and window were broken.
For a moment, she suddenly felt lucky that she couldn’t even afford a more expensive and sturdy lock before.
The main house had two doors, a small side door in the east. The lock had long been broken because it was not used all year round.
Jasmine walked over and her gaze fell on the door. It was tied casually with a hemp rope and iron wire.
In this village were all poor families. The richer had already moved to the new houses in town.
Even thieves rarely visited this place, so there was no need to be so wary.
Jasmine looked at it and stretched out her hand to grind the rope.
The machete had become slow for it had not been used for a long time. Jasmine moved slow, grinding it on the rope bit by bit.
The deep and low grinding sound was almost rhythmic in the empty courtyard.
Soon, the machete stopped in mid-air and the rope was broken.
Jasmine gripped the machete tightly and watched as the door slowly opened. She walked in expressionlessly.
It was also pitch black in the room.
However, Jasmine seemed to be very clear about the layout.
For many days and nights had she thought about this house, dreaming about her living happily with her mother.
She regarded this place as her only home, but now she understood that she was already homeless.
Unlike the damp and cold western hut, it was much warmer here.
Jasmine’s frozen limbs regained their senses.
She stood by the bed motionlessly. By the moonlight penetrating from the window, her eyes gradually adapted to the darkness and saw the couple sleeping soundly on the bed.
Because of the open door, a cold wind blew in.
The temperature in the room dropped, and the persons on the bed soon felt it. They subconsciously made a toss.
However, one person saw the black shadow above and was scared and sobered up...
...
The bright moonlight poured into the room.
The person on the bed seemed to feel something and opened her eyes hazily. The next second, her pupils widened and she sat up from the bed.
She screamed.
The couple held tightly onto each other and retreated to the corner.
It was scary to open one’s eyes in the middle of the night and see a figure with a machete at the bedside.
"You, what do you want to do?"
Eva said with a trembling voice. She saw it was Jasmine and groped for her phone and to call someone.
In such a remote place, they had no chance to live till the police arrived.
So, the only thing she could do was call the closest neighbor.
However, Jasmine didn’t give her a chance at all. She hacked at the cell phone by the bed.
Eva instantly retracted her hand and crossed her arms tightly about her breast. "Jasmine, what are you doing in the middle of the night? Are you crazy?" Jasmine had always been as submissive as a sheep.
Let alone using a knife, she didn’t even dare to speak loudly.
Was she stimulated tonight and going crazy? "I’m crazy. Just take it as me being crazy." Jasmine’s voice echoed throughout the room.
Under the moonlight, they finally saw the girl’s face clearly.
It was a cold but beautiful face.
Her black eyes calmly fell on the couple in the corner.
"I’m crazy to let you bully my mother and me for so many years and occupy our house. The money I painstakingly earned is all for you heartless bastards..."
"Jasmine, I am your uncle. How can you say that?"
Her uncle, Doug, tried to deter Jasmine but he saw her suddenly raise the machete and point it straight at him.
Doug’s face turned pale in scare.
The arrogance in his voice also disappeared. "Jasmine, let’s talk. I am your uncle. We
are family."
Doug was stunned when saw that the girl was really going to swing the machete at him.
He was actually a timid and fearful person, only to be arbitrary at home.
"It is because we are relatives and my mother and you have the same mother that I thought you would treat her well when you got my money. It turns out that I was wrong.
"You want money, you want this house, and you want to drive us all out. You are driven by your insatiable appetite to marry me to a fool. But what I can’t stand the most was how you treat my mother."
Jasmine became more and more excited as she spoke. She then swung the machete in her hand.
With a bang!
The cups and dishes on the table, along with their leftover seafood from last night, all fell to the ground.
"Help... there’s a murderer!"
Eva in the corner was frightened and screamed.
She burrowed her head tightly under her arms and plunged into the man’s arms.
Jasmine was really crazy.
Doug was also frightened. He hugged his wife tightly in his arms and stood in front of her.
"Jasmine, calm down. I know it is my fault. It’s Eva who bullied Jenny. You know that I am afraid of Eva. You are my relatives. How can I treat you like this? It is all because of this woman. It is she who wants to marry you to that man to get the betrothal gifts..."
"What nonsense are you spouting!"
"It’s this woman. She wants to exchange you for more betrothal presents. She also wants you to marry and so we can take this house. She also wants your mother to die early. I really don’t want to do these."
In the darkness, Doug’s words were cruel and disgusting.
Jasmine held the knife so tightly that she trembled.
Eva was shouting in anger for her husband had pushed all the blame on her.
Jasmine pursed and waved the machete in her hand.
Once again, it swept past the woman’s scalp, narrowly missed the man’s eyes, and then cut into the wall.
The room fell into a creepy silence.
Eva and Doug, who were about to fight, now were dumbfounded.
Eva stared with her mouth agape and shrank back to the corner.
Doug knelt down from the bed, either for fear or for remorse.
"Jasmine, please forgive me. It’s all my fault. I’m sorry. Please let me go. I’ll give back the house and money."
At this time, he thought only about money and the house.
Jasmine smiled coldly and said, "The money was earned by me and the house is mine."
How could they use her property as a condition to beg for her mercy?
...
Jasmine’s voice, crisp yet sarcastic, echoed throughout the room.
Looking at the dumbfounded couple on the bed, she sneered.
There was a saying that was now proved to be right.
The more one gave in, the more others would take.
Only when she fearlessly resisted that they sober up.
She only blamed herself for waking up too late that this vicious couple could have bullied them for so many years.
Although life was bitter, she always had hope before.
But what she saw tonight told her that as long as this couple was there, her bitterness would be endless.
There was no hope and only darkness.
It was these two people who made her life like a joke with all these years of effort and forbearance.
"Jasmine, it is my fault. Please forgive me. Don’t make things difficult for me. We are a family anyway."
"Yes, yes, yes. Jasmine, I also know that I was wrong. Please forgive me. I will definitely serve your mother well in the future... No, she is not only your mother but my sister. I will take care of her like a real sister."
If they had treated her mother like this earlier, she would probably be very grateful to them and would spend her entire life to repay them.
But now...
The regret that came too late was worthless.
Jasmine looked coldly at the couple and held her machete tightly in her hand.
"Don’t worry, I won’t take your lives. Although killing you will relieve my hatred, it won’t be worth it for me to break the laws."
If it wasn’t against the law, she would definitely raise her blade and kill them today to correct the wrong.
But reason told her that it was impossible... and it was not worth it.
It was not worth it to send herself to jail for bastards like them.
"Yes, yes. It is not worth it. Jasmine, it is good that you understand. Your mother only has me and you as her relatives. If we all leave her, how can she live alone?"
In this matter, Doug was smart.
He had said the smartest thing in his life.
Jasmine smiled and put down the machete in her hand, "I’ll give you the house as a gift for you taking care of me and my mother during the past few years. The money..."
"Money, we have the money..."
Eva climbed down from the bed in panic and fell.
Then, she stumbled towards the wardrobe.
Soon, she took out a small, bulging black satchel.
She carefully handed it over, "Here is all the money left."
The money Jasmine sent back every month was almost all squandered by them.
Jasmine took a glance and took the satchel without any hesitation.
Although Eva was reluctant, she could only grit her teeth and watch the money go back to Jasmine.
After all, that damned girl was still holding a machete in her hand.
By the moonlight, Jasmine quickly turned her gaze to Eva’s neck.
The woman felt a chill and subconsciously covered her neck, desperate to hide the gold necklace.
"The necklace was given to my mom by my dad when he was alive. It was a gift from a dead person. Aren’t you afraid that you will be strangled when you wear it?"
Jasmine put it as scary as it could be.
Especially when it was still in the middle of the night.
Eva felt a gust of cold wind blow past the door. It was frighteningly cold. In the next second, she quickly tore off the necklace and stuffed it back into Jasmine’s hands.
Then, she quickly hid in the corner of the bed.
Hugging the man in her arms tightly, she could only tremble in grievances.
Jasmine held the broken necklace in her palm. She still remembered that when she was a child, her father had saved up for a year to buy it for her mother.
Her mother kept it as a treasure and was not willing to wear it.
But now, the necklace smelled of another person.
"You have taken care of us for many years. My father in heaven will never forget your kindness. If there is a chance, I believe that he will come to you to express his thanks."
After saying that, Jasmine took her things and left without looking back.
The two people in the room were left trembling, and only after a long while did they realize that they had been cursed by Jasmine!
