Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 485: Male and Female
The room fell back to silence and a muffled sound suddenly came from the courtyard.
The woman shrank back in fright and grabbed the man beside her, "She, she’s gone!"
The man quickly took a look through the window.
Sure enough, the door of the hut was opened, and Jasmine entered the house with a bucket of coal.
The dark hut was soon lit up.
"No, she didn’t leave."
Doug looked through the window and saw the machete in Song Gardenia’s hand. He quickly shrank back.
He got out of bed and closed the door. Only then did he slowly sigh in relief.
He looked at the woman in the corner and said, "Is she crazy? She’s burning the coals."
After saying that, he soon realized that there was no heating in the hut. It was cold and smelly.
And there was no stove in the room, what did Jasmine use to burn coals?
"Can it be that she is going to burn us to death? And she just said that she doesn’t want the house anymore."
Maybe she wanted to give the house to them and then burn them to ashes.
At the thought of Jasmine standing by their bedside, their expressions became even worse.
Jasmine could do it!
"That damn girl is crazy. If she kills us, she will also go to jail. I don’t believe that the damn girl would dare to touch a hair on us."
The man said with a menacing look.
However, he looked uncertain and his tone was unconfident.
Maybe they had gone too far.
If they had forced Jasmine into a corner, she would want to fight to death...
They were now very afraid.
"I think that girl didn’t look like she is joking with us. If she swung her sword a little lower, my head..."
Eva said with a gloomy face.
She subconsciously touched her neck. She was still a little scared.
Previously, she thought of getting as much as possible out of Jasmine; now, she only wanted to send her away.
"Alright, what’s there to be afraid of? Call your son back tomorrow. She is but a little girl and not our rival."
At the mention of her son, Eva quickly recovered.
She agreed that however ruthless Jasmine appeared to be, she was still a young girl.
How could girls be compared with boys in terms of strength?
Eva found her confidence back and forgot how late it was.
She quickly found her phone and dialed a familiar number.
The phone rang for a while before it was finally picked up.
The man’s voice was impatient, and his tone was particularly cold, "What are you doing? It’s already so late. I’m sleeping."
Eva was too anxious to comfort her son.
She hurriedly said, "Son, can you come back early tomorrow morning? That damned girl Jasmine held a knife and almost killed me and your father just now. I am so scared."
Eva began to cry.
As if she really had been bullied.
The man on the phone was still angry and impatient for he had been disturbed from the sleep.
"What can that wretched girl do? Didn’t I tell you to send me a message if anything happened? Don’t you know that long-distance calls are expensive?"
Eva was scolded by her son and felt wronged and nervous, "I was so anxious that I forgot. Son, can you come back now? You will be home in the morning."
When her son was home, Jasmine would not be able to bully them.
"Alright, alright. What’s the need for me to come back late at night? Jasmine wouldn’t be able to do anything to you. Besides, if I ask for a leave, the company would deduct my salary."
"But son, mom and your dad are scared to death. You don’t know what she did..."
"Okay, if you want me to go back, give me one thousand and I will go back when I have time."
Eva was unprepared that his son would directly ask for money. She tightened her grip on her phone and thought of the bag that Jasmine had snatched away.
She felt even more upset.
"There’s no money at home, Jasmine..."
"How can I go back without money? Alright, I’m going back to sleep." Before Eva could finish her words, the other side hung up the phone. The woman held her phone and looked at Doug in disappointment. Their son was so busy that he had no time to come back!
Both of them were no longer sleepy now. They lied with their eyes open till the dawn.
In the hut.
Thanks to the fire, the hut warmed up. Jenny, who was originally huddled up, gradually fell into a sound sleep.
Perhaps it was because of Jasmine’s return, she slept with a faint smile on her lips.
The sky gradually brightened.
Sitting next to the bonfire, Jasmine looked as the sun slowly rises outside the window. Her cold little face still had no expression.
She had found a bottomless iron bucket to make the stove. Although it was simple, it kept the room warm.
She looked at the fire and occasionally looked out the window.
After a while, she slowly got up and walked towards her luggage.
After putting away her things, Jenny in the corner finally made a sound.
Jasmine turned around and put on a smile.
"Mom, you’re awake." 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
When Jenny opened her eyes and saw her daughter, she also replied with a bright smile.
Her messy hair was carefully tidied up by Jasmine. Although it was still dirty, it became softer and suppler.
Jenny was now thin and pale and had no trace of the beauty she once possessed. "It’s not easy to take a bus here. You should hurry back." The bus only ran two rounds from here to town each day.
Sometimes, if the weather was bad, it would only make a single round.
Jenny propped up her neck and barely managed to see half of the window. It was still dim outside.
"After packing up, we will leave."
Jasmine responded tersely, but Jenny was slightly stunned. She looked at Jasmine with panic in her eyes.
"Mom, I just discussed it with uncle and aunt. You need to go to the big hospital in town for a check-up. Just now, uncle went out to borrow a car."
Before Jenny woke up, she entered the main house again with a machete.
This time, there was no need to waste her breath. She put down the machete and gave an order. Doug immediately ran out to call for a car.
Jasmine was not worried that he might run away or call for help.
She was lived in this village first. In this remote and mountainous area, there were only a few households, and they had all received her father’s kindness.
As long as Doug was not afraid of being beaten to death, he would not speak nonsense!
...
This time, Doug did things very neatly.
He quickly borrowed a car.
Jasmine helped her mother to change into new clothes, combed her hair, and put on light makeup.
Although Jenny was still shockingly thin, her complexion looked better.
Jenny held Jasmine’s hand and opened her mouth, but before she could say anything, she was interrupted by Jasmine.
"Mom, don’t worry."
It sounded like she is comforting Jenny, but she was also comforted herself.
They had no money to go to a big hospital. Even if they could afford it, Jenny knew she would not live for long.
There was no need to waste that money on her.
But she neither stopped nor dissuaded Jasmine.
Jenny saw resolution in Jasmine’s eyes.
The mother and daughter finally got in the car.
In the car, Jenny held Jasmine’s hand tightly.
Jasmine wanted to turn her head, but Jenny said by her side, "Don’t look back!" His mother’s words were imprinted in Jasmine’s heart.
She stopped her motion and turned her head back, straightly staring ahead.
Since they had already come out, she should never look back.
There was nothing behind that she would miss.
It was an extremely exhausting day.
They changed transportations a few times.
Jenny’s legs were deformed, so Jasmine carried her on her back on the way.
She brought her mother to eat a snack that they hadn’t eaten for years.
The day passed as she booked the tickets, took the tickets, got on the bus, and left the place.
Along the way, Jasmine quietly took care of Jenny, and Jenny did not ask her any questions.
It was long and difficult to travel. It took three days before they finally arrived at City A.
Jasmine rented a shabby apartment.
The house was old but it had a bathroom. Jasmine cleaned the apartment up.
They made a roasted chicken. They were rarely as happy as now in the past years.
The roasted chicken seemed to warm up the room.
The small room was filled with the laughter of the mother and daughter.
In the lecture hall of Sun City University.
Mike looked at Henry, who sat listlessly beside him and sighed.
Love was bittersweet!
"Henry, you have been waiting at the station for three days without seeing Jasmine. We heard that her vacation has been extended. If she was interested in you, she should have contacted you days ago."
Henry looked at his phone in boredom. The message box was filled with what he had sent to Jasmine these days.
Obviously, he did not receive a single reply.
Jasmine seemed to disappear. Other than the photos of her winning the award pasted on the public column, no one mentioned her again.
At Sun City University, she kept an extremely low profile, even though she was voted as the most beautiful girl on campus last time.
She was pretty but indifferent. The students were going to select a new campus baby. Jasmine was dispensable.
"Henry, let’s play basketball. You can distract yourself and use up extra energy." If he was exhausted, he won’t be in the mood for lovesickness.
The person beside agreed, "That’s right, Henry. You can’t lose your soul for a woman. Jasmine... Jasmine!"
The man’s gaze fell on the door of the lecture hall, and Mike followed suit. He immediately shook Henry, "Jasmine, Jasmine!"
"What are you shouting for? No one is allowed to mention this name in front of me from now on. Jasmine, that damned girl..."
Henry’s voice stopped abruptly as his gaze fell on the door.
His handsome face turned red from anger and then into a panic.
Jasmine returned!
The professor followed Jasmine into the classroom.
Mike gave Henry a pull, who had stood up. "Henry!"
Henry’s eyes were still glued to Jasmine.
He watched as she walked in and headed to the corner which was furthest from himself and sat down.
Henry suddenly felt like he was caught in the act!
Mike pulled him back to his seat, but he could not help but look at her from the distance.
She probably didn’t hear what he said just now!
Jasmine still looked indifferent. Her eyes had swept across Henry when she came in.
Then, she had not looked at him again.
Henry felt sad.
He lowered his head and quickly tapped on his phone. The moment the message was sent, he looked up in the direction of Jasmine.
Though he was blocked by the students between them, he could not restrain himself from cranking his neck and trying to catch a sight of her. Mike warned him several times but was ignored.
If there wasn’t for a lecturer standing below, Henry would have flown over to Jasmine.
Fortunately, the lesson had passed safely.
Henry had already chased out before the professor left.
Mike looked at that impatient figure and sighed.
"Henry is finished. That girl, Jasmine, has too many tricks upon her sleeves."
"Mike, I think Henry really likes Jasmine."
Mike nodded, "A young man falls in love for the first time. He could give his life to her."
Although the people around him didn’t understand what he was saying, they probably understood what he meant.
Jasmine was going to be Henry’s girlfriend!
In a small compartment behind the classroom.
Jasmine was directly dragged here by Henry after the class.
She was surprised but not afraid.
She did not make a sound to alarm the students in the lecture hall.
Jasmine was pressed against the wall. Henry’s dark eyes spoke sorrow and anger.
"Why... Why don’t you reply to my message? Where have you gone?"
It was not until Henry opened his mouth did he find his voice was filled with grievances.
Previously, Henry thought that if Jasmine appeared again, he would definitely ignore her and wait for her to come over and comfort him. And he would remain angry and make things difficult for her.
However, it was only when he saw Jasmine again that he realized he missed her more than he was angry with her.
Jasmine quietly looked at the youth in front of her and calmly said, "I don’t want to reply. I don’t need to tell you where I’m going."
Henry flared up.
Henry’s eyes were filled with grievance and resentment. He said through his gritted teeth, "Jasmine, what do I mean for you? I had waited for you at the bar for a few nights. I looked for you every day at school, at the station..."
"No one asked you to wait for me. We had nothing to do with each other. Don’t look at me as if I had abandoned him."
Henry was stunned. Had he not been abandoned?
