Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 486: A Probe
In the small garden on the campus.
Henry sat on a bench. Mike sitting beside him sighed again.
"Henry, let it go. There are so many good girls around and you don’t have to fall for Jasmine."
Although Jasmine was beautiful, she was also too difficult to be moved.
Mike did not want to see his good friend being so sad for a woman.
If this girl won’t do, Henry could change to another.
"You don’t understand."
Henry turned to glare at him, got up, and walked out of the school.
What Jasmine had said just now was still sounded in his ears. This damn woman had never liked him.
In the apartment, the two sisters looked surprised when they saw Henry who had suddenly returned.
Ever since they settled down here, Henry had never come here again.
They thought that he would stay in the school, so they naturally took over his place.
"The two of you... hurry and go back."
Henry stood in front of them and said coldly.
"Henry, are you unhappy?"
Fiona asked with concern as she ate the potato chips.
Annabelle did not show much expression, "He’s broken up!"
Fiona gave his sister a surprised look.
She was surprised that Annabelle could see through things while she could not.
Fiona felt the gap between her and her sister.
"Henry, that girl doesn’t like you. This proves that she has a good taste and so do you. Give up. You won’t be worthy of her."
Fiona gave him a very sincere suggestion.
Sure enough, Henry glared at her and said angrily, "Go, go immediately. If you don’t go, I will call Mom and say that you are... in love!"
Henry said angrily and then entered the room.
The door was slammed shut.
Fiona looked at Annabelle and whispered, "Anna, Henry looks so miserable when he is lovelorn."
Annabelle calmly nodded and replied, "He was ashamed into anger!" She gave it a succinct summary.
Fiona nodded her head vigorously. It was an accurate conclusion.
Henry was ashamed into anger!
"Anna, do you think we should help him?"
Although Henry had just threatened them to tell her mother, they were not afraid at all.
Because they knew very well in their hearts that Henry would not win. "We’ll visit a lake tomorrow. After that, we’ll leave." They were about to leave and had no time to help Henry.
Fiona sat back down on the sofa in frustration.
She sighed and said, "He is after all my brother. I can’t bear to see him so pitifully being dumped by a woman."
"Why don’t we tell Andrew about this? He is so smart. He will be able to help Henry." Fiona’s idea was opposed by Annabelle.
Annabelle got up from the sofa and said, "It is not Andrew’s turn."
In the room, Henry tossed and turned restlessly.
He had waited in City A for days yet Jasmine had ignored him.
She also quit the job in the bar and moved out of the dormitory.
Was she... avoiding him?
Was he so annoying?
The door was suddenly opened.
A little head popped in through the crack of the door.
Henry had just raised his pillow when Fiona quickly raised her hands and said in a panic, "Don’t be angry, Henry. I came to help you.
"You must believe that we are on the same side."
Henry put down his hands and threw the pillow onto the bed. "There’s money in the drawer at the head of the bed. Take some yourself and buy something to eat."
He was trying to bribe her!
Fiona moved to the bedside and carefully sat down next to Henry. She smiled and patted his shoulder, "Henry, are you sad for love? Did that girl reject you?"
"Don’t be sad. Tell me and I’ll be happy... no, I mean I’ll help you!"
Fiona looked sensible and obedient.
Her crescent eyes looked happily at Henry on the bed.
When Henry turned around, her expression changed to one of worry.
"Henry, have you ever heard that two heads are better than one. Don’t keep the secret in your heart. If you have a problem, we can work together to solve it."
Fiona said as she looked at Henry.
Henry sat up on the bed, looked at her indifferently, and asked, "Have you ever been in love?"
Fiona blushed and lowered her head shyly. She rubbed the handkerchief in her hand and whispered, "I haven’t been in a relationship. But I know what people will be like when they break up!"
She had watched a lot of soap operas.
"You want me to break up..."
Henry gritted his teeth and was about to speak when he heard Fiona speak seriously.
"Henry, don’t be angry. You can only break up with her after she became your girlfriend. I can help you to win back my future sister-in-law."
Henry was pleased when she said "sister-in-law".
Henry was cheered up and found his sister to become much more pleasing to the eye.
He hugged the pillow in his arms and asked, "Tell me what you think."
He would decide whether to follow.
Fiona smiled triumphantly and whispered to Henry.
Henry looked uncertain. He hugged the pillow and asked, "What if she really misunderstood?"
"Henry, you are so stupid. If she doesn’t believe in your sincerity, you can take her to our house. Besides, all girls like gifts. We have no lack of money. You can make her swoon with gifts."
She talked as if Jasmine was a shallow and greedy girl.
Henry wondered why Fiona thought his taste is that bad.
Henry rolled his eyes and said in a low voice, "If a man gave you gifts every day, would he make you swoon?"
Fiona gave her a disdainful look and raised her little face with sarcasm.
She said disdainfully, "I am the little treasure of our Anderson family. How many people can compare to us in terms of money? Even a Prince cannot appeal me."
"Our Anderson girls are not so shallow!"
Fiona blinked her eyes and smiled at Henry meaningfully.
Henry pursed.
His eyes were filled with mockery.
He said softly, "You are not shallow, nor is Jasmine. Besides, who said that the women of our Anderson family are not shallow? I think our aunt is quite superficial. You will grow up like her in the future!"
...
"Henry, I have already found out that Jasmine is working in this supermarket."
Mike sent the address to Henry’s phone and couldn’t help but remind him,
"Henry, she said she doesn’t like you. Why do you want to find her?"
Mike did not think that Henry is the kind of man who would pester a girl.
Henry gave him a look and said angrily, "I just want to. What can you do about it?"
After saying that, he checked the address and left.
His friends changed glances in surprise. They could hardly believe that Henry really falls for Jasmine.
They thought at first that Henry could not accept being rejected by Jasmine because he hated to lose his face.
According to their previous style, they would take revenge on Jasmine and force her to drop out of Sun City University.
However, Henry did not mean that.
He did not get angry with Jasmine and even gave up his dignity to chase her.
He was really... shameless.
In the evening, Henry and his two sisters stopped by the side of the road.
They looked in the direction of the supermarket. Sure enough, they saw a slim figure standing in front of the cashier.
"Henry, do your best!"
Fiona made a cheering gesture for Henry, then looked at Annabelle and whispered, "Anna, do your best!"
Annabelle frowned and said in a low voice with a hint of complaint, "Why don’t you act as Henry’s girlfriend?"
It was Fiona’s idea.
But Annabelle became the one to do the real job.
Fiona lowered her head and rubbed the hem of her clothes. She said in a low voice, "I am too voluble. What if I spill the beans and scare my sister-in-law?"
At least she was able to face her shortcomings.
Annabelle did not bother to debunk her.
Henry couldn’t wait to get out of the car, "Either of you could do. After all, you look the same."
Besides, they just needed to come in with him to buy something. There was no need for any one of them to play his girlfriend.
Of course, if Jasmine misunderstood, it was not his fault.
"Anna, hurry up and hold Henry’s arm."
Fiona pushed Annabelle out of the car and leaned against the glass window, looking out with bright eyes.
She was satisfied to see Henry and Annabella standing together, one was handsome and the other beautiful. They were siblings after all.
She wanted to take a photo and send it to Andrew.
Annabelle was pushed out. Although she was reluctant, she could only brace herself to hold Henry’s arm with a frown.
In the car, Fiona said excitedly, "Anna, hold on tighter. You should look more intimate. You’re too polite."
It looked like they were not even siblings, but more like partners in a cocktail party.
Annabelle rolled her eyes. She wouldn’t do that.
No matter what Fiona said in the car, Annabelle didn’t look back.
Instead, she held Henry’s arm and walked into the supermarket.
This was a very ordinary small supermarket. Except for the cashier at the door, there was only a waiter tidying up the shelves.
"Henry, I want to eat ice cream."
A soft and sweet female voice sounded in the quiet small supermarket, immediately attracting the two staff members’ eyes.
Jasmine subconsciously clenched the pen in her hand.
She did not expect Henry to appear here. She kept a cold face and remained silent.
Henry subconsciously wanted to walk towards Jasmine.
He wanted to question this woman why she didn’t like him.
However, Annabelle grabbed him back and whispered in his ear, "Do you really want her to be your girlfriend?"
Henry could only give up his intention.
Of course, he wanted to have Jasmine as his girlfriend.
After coming back to his senses, Henry said as they had rehearsed, "No, it’s too cold. What if you have stomachache again?"
"No, I want to eat."
Annabelle pulled Henry’s arm and acted like a spoiled child.
But she frowned to an angle that no one could see.
It was so disgusting!
"Be good. If you have a stomach, I will have a heartache." Henry said affectionately. Annabelle immediately frowned.
She said loudly, "You said that you like me, love me and dote on me, but you won’t even buy me ice cream. Liar."
Annabelle covered her face with her hand.
She was going to vomit for the lines.
"Let’s forget the ice cream. What about milk tea? It’s warm and sweet, like what I feel at the thought of you. I remember your favorite flavor..."
Annabelle thought, "No, I can’t do it, I can’t go on. Let me go!"
She pushed Henry away and walked straight to the cashier.
Annabelle resumed her calm again.
Looking at Jasmine, who was stunned, she said, "Why are you looking at him? Do you like him?"
Henry howled in his heart, "Anna, what are you doing? This is different from what we rehearsed before."
Jasmine was caught off guard.
She was stunned at first and then hesitated. She felt awkward to be questioned like this. "I..."
"Anna, what are you doing? Don’t lose your temper. If you want to eat ice cream, I’ll buy it for you."
Henry thought, "Since you don’t act as plan first, don’t blame me for doing the same."
Henry went straight forward and grabbed Annabelle’s hand. He obviously wanted to drag her out.
But he forgot that if Annabelle didn’t want to, no one could force her.
Annabelle was still standing in place, with her gaze fixed on Jasmine’s face.
Her dark eyes were bewitching.
"Do you like him?"
"From the moment we entered, you stared at my brother. You like him, don’t you?"
Being asked this in public, Jasmine was somewhat confused.
Henry was about to leave. But he also turned to Jasmine and looked for an answer.
His hands were clenched behind his back.
He was even more nervous than when he stole his sisters’ pocket money and was found out by his mother.
Jasmine was stunned for a moment but she quickly recovered.
With a faint smile on her face, she glanced at Henry and then looked at Annabelle.
She said gently, "Miss, you misunderstood. Henry is my classmate from the same school. I was just surprised to see him here. I wanted to greet him out of politeness. It’s not what you think."
After that, she added to dispel Annabelle’s suspicion, "I have a crush on another person. Please don’t misunderstand me and Henry. What do you want to eat? It’s my treat today."
Annabelle’s face immediately turned cold.
Jasmine was such a rational woman. It won’t be easy for Henry in the future.
She picked up the two lollipops and said expressionlessly, "Thanks!"
Without waiting for Henry to react, she dragged him out of the supermarket.
She was afraid that if she left a little later, Henry would cry.
