My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively
Chapter 426: You Can’t Escape
"No need to say anything more, just leave here immediately. I’ll have finance transfer your salary and compensation to your account!" Sherry was done talking to her; she nearly caused a disaster!
"Sherry, I’ve been loyal to you for years. You at least owe me a reason for making me leave." Aunt Lin’s face was full of dissatisfaction.
Seeing her persistence, Sherry had no choice but to speak honestly.
"You’ve caused trouble, and now even I might get implicated because of you. I’m telling you to leave to protect you. Staying here will only make things worse." She looked more helpless as she spoke.
If that man decided to blame them, the situation would only get more severe.
She should never have entrusted that girl to her!
Hearing Sherry’s words, Aunt Lin’s face immediately went pale...
...
Katherine Irving pulled Summer Shawcross all the way back to their dorm room.
It wasn’t until the door was closed that Summer couldn’t hold back any longer.
"Katherine, have you practiced martial arts?"
"Summer, what are you talking about? I’m just someone doing odd jobs here; how could I have practiced martial arts?" Katherine looked at her naively and denied it.
"Then just now..." Summer asked, puzzled.
"I’ve just been doing a lot of manual work, which gives me some strength. Did I scare you?" Katherine laughed, speaking casually.
"No, you actually looked pretty cool earlier..." Summer smiled, thinking she must have read too much into it.
"Right, what about your injury..." Katherine suddenly remembered something and hurriedly asked her.
"It’s nothing, it doesn’t hurt anymore." She smiled, speaking nonchalantly, but it was a shame; such a good opportunity was wasted.
"Next time, don’t try something like that. Everything here is under surveillance; you won’t be able to escape." Katherine sighed and advised her.
"But... I have to leave here," Summer paused and murmured.
Seeing her determination, Katherine looked more confused and asked.
"Why? Actually, it’s pretty good here. At least it’s simpler than the complicated world outside. It’s okay to stay here; there’s no need to leave."
Being asked this, Summer fell silent, not knowing how to respond for a moment.
"Katherine, do you have someone you love?" A moment later, she suddenly asked her friend.
"Hmm... I guess I do!" Katherine thought for two seconds.
"Then you should understand how I feel. I just want to see him, to be by his side now!"
Though she had been in a coma for a month and awake for only two days, these two days felt like two long years to her!
She never knew that missing someone could be so torturous and so painful.
"I think I can understand, but... I don’t fully get what you’re saying." Katherine’s face showed confusion.
Summer sighed, sat down to rest, and didn’t say anything more.
Just as she was sitting by the bed, staring blankly at the night sky outside the window, Katherine suddenly pulled out a remote from somewhere and turned on the TV in the room.
As soon as the TV was on, the host’s perfect Mandarin came through.
Hearing the TV, Summer turned her head curiously, looking towards the screen.
